hey btw, can u tell me a good board thats a wide, ive been looking everywhere and i cant find one, my favorite two boards are the ride concept tms and the ride concept ul, please help me out!
how is the flex of a crush compared to a capita horrorscope fk?
reason i ask is cause no stores around here carry ride products but the horrorscope was really soft witch i liked. if its anything like that im sold cause i love Ride snowboards.
yeah. rocker boards feel a lot shorter than camber boards. our guys that rode the machette are pretty excited about it. 152 might be too small. 155 will work really well.
I was wondering..I want to buy the 152 Ride Machete. But didnt know if i was to big for it. Im 6'2 about 170 pounds and I had a 157 DH last year and it was just too big so i was wondering if it would be safe to ride a 152, because i'd hate to break a $450 snowboard
there is probably no difference in the cores of the 157 & 152 (don't quote me). your chances of breaking it are about the same. thats where warrantees should come in.
tough call. was your 157 DH rocker? cause a rocker 152 feels like a 121cm. -mulch
The Kink and the Crush are similar in their intention, but construction and the overall ride (no pun intended) will be different between the two. The Kink is a soft true twin tip built to ride the park, but favors rails. It's sidewalls are comprised out of an 85a Urethane (like a skate wheel) for padding on rails and harsh landings. The kind has a super soft flex profile and a mellow sidecut so it's designed to track straight between rails and jumps and definitely is at home in the park. TOM
and.....The Crush, while almost identical, now has Ride's LowRize Rocker technology, lifting the contact points on the nose and tail off the snow, giving you catch free take offs and landings, stronger presses, and reduces fatigue in riding powder." - Tom/ EB Nashua NH
I like the machete, but the Dh2 is stiffer, making it a good all around board. Its got carbon fiber pop sticks in the nose and tail for added stiffness. The machete isn't bad though, its more of a park experience. The guy at the shop said he hates the graphics of the DH2... how do you hate this board? Snowboard shop employee's are friggin snobs and they take themselves way too seriously. Would love to write about the board and how it rides, but I haven't even touched snow with it.
cool. write back in 30 days when you get first turns. DH bottom graphic is the best of 2010.... ps if your shop employees a snob go somewhere else, life is too short. -mulch
can u help set me straight? ive decieded on 3 boards for next year. the ride dh which i know is a good board is what im thinking of right now. the machete looks amazing but i was told that its very soft and i dont enjoy jumping a noodle. im also considering the dh2 but for this and the mechete im concerned about jumping again. im afraid that it will be harder to spin and really unstable at high speed/landing. what do u reccomend. money isnt a limit this time.
The DH is definitely stiffer than the Machete. I found the Machete to be one of the best boards I rode all year. For me the stiffness was perfect (I'd say medium flex) I did like the DH it felt to me like a stiffer Machete so that may be the board to look at. Hope this helped.-SPK
I'm no lightweight these days and the Machete ripped ..rode the 61 at a whopping 225lbs 6'2" and it never felt like I was going to lose it in a turn..it's one of the few rockers that rode well in most situations. EB Bub
Which ride board did you like better ... the Machete or the DH2 b/c I am deciding between one of those 2 to be my park board for the year. Which was softer and stable for big jumps?
What would be better for jumps and rails at the park the Kink with ProRize or the Machette with LowRize?

i wear a size 12 boot and i was wondering if i should get a wide, do u think i should, does it make a difference?
TRX700XX4ever 2 years ago
YES. Toe Drag is a snowboarders worst enemy. Most board models come in Regular and Wide. so definitely get the wide.

Are the kink and the crush pretty much the same besides the fact that the crush is a rocker?

i have the dh2 and its a sweet board, smooth, stable at high speeds, just a great board to slash the mountains with....

I found it to be fine but I didn't hit anything bigger than 30ft. If your a real powerful rider or heavier than 180lbs You might want the dh?
