  • She was a complete fraud! She wasn't even a good actor!

  • Perfect!

  • This is definitely Sister Aimee. What I think confuses people, or people forget that this film clip was produced in the late 30's to early 40's. People talked, acted, body mannerisms were different back then, which may seem fake by today standards for public speaking.

I am thankful to her, I have family members who played in her orchestra. She is a part of our family history, and we are the better for it.

  • good post.

    i agree with you 100%%%.

  • wow y'all are harsh on the woman of God...i gotta agree with sunrise...she did more for the Church than most of us even dream about

  • Let me tell you something. Sister Aimee was a true servant of God, full of the power of the Holly Spirit. But this video is a fraud. This actress does not represent that one woman of God.

  • This video is not a fraud. That is not an actress - it really is Sister Aimee

  • Like I said: This actress does not represent that one woman of God. And yes She is FAKEEEE!!!

  • Are you blind???Anyone with sight or hearing can see this is her!!!!

  • She was a fraud whose legacy lives on in the televangelists and mega-churches of today.

  • She was a sweet woman who followed the Lord the best she knew how. She was far from perfect and she knew it, but she did what she could do even though she was often very lonely.

  • He who is without sin may chuck away. But before you chuck, consider that Pastor McPherson did more for the Christian church at that time than most do with even more resources today.

People have no problem commending a Joel Olsteen for preaching the same way as Aimee did; with drama and vigour. Is it because he is a man? I rarely hear of many of today's ministers feeding the hungry and clothing the naked; taking care of mens' practical needs. But Aimee did.

  • This is wonderful, I had no idea there was video of her. I'm fascinated by frauds like her, and seeing it on video brings it all to life. This it it folks: The first televangelist. Swaggert, Graham, Falwell, Hinn, and the rest of them; this is where the whole thing began.

  • NO there were others before her.Thats a fact.

  • Can you name a few? It was my understanding that prior to Aimee it was mostly traveling medicine shows and that she was at least one of the front runners when it came to using radio and TV. I know that the medicine show formula predates her if that's what you mean.

  • Maybe Kuhlman got her use of 'marvelous' from McPherson, and Hinn from Kuhlman. She is playing with something at the end with her hands, not good public speaking technique for someone known for being a celebrated personality as she was at the time.

  • If she had lived in this generation, she'd be a Paula White.

  • ...in all of her over-wrought insincerity

  • She was theatrical in her presentation to the public through media such as radio, television, and when she preached. Angelus Temple was the place where People could hear the Gospel of Christ, be fed, and receive other helps in their daily lives. She used whatever means necessary to draw people in to hear the message. If the world could be exciting, why couldnt the Church as well?

  • This looks of actress!!!

    Hummm!

  • Whoever this woman is, she is an actress, not an anointed servant.
