I have heard this excuse before, and it is ridiculous.
I have read the bible, the vedas/bhagavad gita, and aspects of the Tripitakas. All translated from other languages. Despite this, I found none of these even close to as repetitive, lacking in originality, and generally of such a deplorable nature as I found the Quran.
