  • Very moving, good job to all

  • I might hafe to move the Pennselvania to reinact at gettysburg when im old enough...

  • Hi YouTube to see a video of the manassas reenactment go to our channel ( srvztube ) or look up Battle of Manassas reenactment 150th anniversary. Comment and subscribe

  • I enjoyed this video a lot as my great-great-grandfather was a private in Co. D 27th Georgia Infantry Battalion at this battle. I want to get up there to see it sometime but the real military is keeping me deployed a lot. If I may ask a question, though, why are the CSA units using ANV battleflags when the CSA units who fought this battle were AOT troops?

  • at the 3:25 mark there are soldiers using repeaters

  • @FunnyGage By 1865 repeating carbines , like the Spenser rifle , were in widespread use among the northern cavalry .

Those weapons only fired a small pistol sized round though , ( like the later famous Winchester of countless cowboy films ) . Many in the army staff felt that these weapons had insufficient stopping power , which is why Custer's 5th Cavalry fought at Little big Horn with the single shot Sharps carbine , the short barreled version of the civil war Sharps breechloading rifle .

  • @FunnyGage Those repeaters are Henry Rifles. The are extremely loud. About 10 of them were firing right beside of me on the first days battle. That was the first time I've seen them at any reenactment.

  • there were people in this reenactment video with rifles shooting more than one time then relodeing

  • @FunnyGage it was yankee cavelry using henry rifles.

  • wtf they didnt have repeaters back then this whole video is bullshit

  • GO NORTH

  • how do you now your hit :p

  • Very good capturing moments of the Battle.

My friends from the 66th OVI fell in w/15th NJ.

    Enjoyed the music.

    Good job all around.

    Thanks.

  • LONG LIVE THE CONFEDERACAH

  • @animefan388

?? There is the region the American South, with its heritage, culture & economy, which I love as well - but "the Confederacy" has been defunct for 145 years - isn't it time to outgrow the old resentments? Don't let it bug you, let it go, and put your devotion into supporting your individual state and the nation it's a part of - don't look to destroy the US, look to keep it honest and good - that's what we need right now

  • THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN

  • @GenRobertLee1861

would that be the "New South"? :)

Do you think that a second civil war wouldn't be as devastating as the first one? We know that Yankees can actually fight - and what would be the point, there aren't even slaves to argue over anymore -

Hey, my great grandfather was a Georgia artillery captain in the Army of N. Va., I am proud of his record, but I disagree with his cause - hey, the best revenge is to do well, so prosper & enjoy life, that's probably better -

  • SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN

  • too bad they didn't have uzi's

  • why reenact? just use dat dere time machine.

  • UNION!

  • FOR THE SOUTH

  • how do they know if they get hit

  • @googoo2u5 They don't, they usually shoot until they run out of shots and then die. Sometimes they draw straws before going into battle.

  • @googoo2u5 They don't. They usually shoot all their shots before dying.

  • Hey all, I'm thinking about getting into reenacting, and would like to portray a cavalryman. How exactly does a cavalry re-enactor "die" while in battle mounted? Could you slump over in the saddle and turn your horse out of the fight? Obviously tumbling down from your horse is a bad idea. It looks like fantastic fun, especially for someone with a real appreciation for history.

  • 5 days before my birthday :)

  • lol, rebels playng music lol

  • those calvary men with the repeating rifles! It's like watching a cloned John Wayne taking on the entire Confederate Army...

  • @hollywoodwerewolf They did have repeaters in the Civil War

  • Corn fed conferates and immortal steel wool yankees

  • I'd like to be in one! I wanted to be a soldier....but I couldnt! So I didnt... :(

  • awesome

  • Great event I was in the cavalry and they show me getting taken off the field when i was wounded when we were on foot great event

  • this is awesome

  • I was there and I have alot of OLD family that died in that war...

  • Most stirring!

  • i wasnt there i was going to be there but my great-grandmas birth was on the same day so family comes first.

  • Great video! I was glad to be there to see the reenactment!

  • It would have been a buttload more interesting to have participated in if the Federals had left their wool Kevlar uniforms at camp....

  • We found some extra Johnny Reb wool and dyed it blue!

  • Ahaha. That really made me laugh, haha

  • @GovVance: actually probably more realistic this way. Union army did suffer only like 3% casualties at Bentonville. I mean 1500 (153 dead) of 60,000 men not much. If they had 400 reenactors they should only have like 12 casualties and only 1 or 2 of them dead to be realistic in scale.

  • @GovVance well there was that artillery man early in the battle..but I don't think he was 'killed' or 'wounded'. I think he was mildly inconvenienced.

  • @hollywoodwerewolf haha. yeah, i hadn't taken account of that

  • @GovVance we're not the only ones who wear the wool kevlar, its been my experience that rebs dont take hits either

  • @dougc2004 In the end, I don't think either side takes hits really well. We wait until we're like 15 meters away from each other before we start to take casualties that would have been seen at 50 meters. Its a spectator sport, really.

  • I was there on saturday

  • @9208155 I was there....on the sidelines....great show!

  • Those Henry Rifles tore my company a new one on sunday!!

  • Was Forrest at Bentonville?

  • @hollywoodwerewolf : No. Forrest was in Alabama.

  • I was beside thaose Henry Rifles, two times! (one time on Saturday and the other one on Sunday) They were loud!

  • I enjoyed the reenactment this weekend (6th NCST Co. I), great battles both times...Those bugger Henry rifles tore us rebs to shreds. Thanks for the video!

  • lol - you added in music over our playing!!!!! I'm the fifer at 1:40!
