i do not get the openiboot screen on my iPod it just stays with the connect to iTunes screen i have followed all the instructions and have a jailbreak with pwangetool 3.1.3
I hit enter after i hit the home button to install iboot and it runs through all the command lines on the ipod but it doesn't show up in terminal. Any suggestions/help?
if you are going to do this, search for libusb first. THEN do this EXACTLY as instructed. i did not do the restore the first time, and i downloaded ssh in the wrong part of the install. the whole process messed up, and i had to start over.
i am going into my third time of doing this. the first time was my fault the second was the guy who wrote this. install cydia BEFORE openiboot! dont worry about the updating crap. just hit ignore. install cydia, and open ssh, THEN do the openiboot stuff.
I get to 0:49, but then cydia shuts down, and when i reopen it, it just says loading data, and then it shuts down again! I have the latest Itunes, with mac os x 10.6.4
hey man great tut, but when i get tto the part after you hit console, the codes and writing show up on my itouch but not my terminal. then when i type install after, it doesnt work. any help?
help!!! Everything works fine but I had a problem when pressing the home key and enter it is working but then it just stop and it says there " restore scanning virtual blocks 1000 - 1999"

There are many questions about this project with certain device support. Just to say now, this is only working for the iPod Touch 1G, the iPhone 2G and 3G. The rest of the devices are being ported, but just to say, the iPod Touches aren't in high priority at the moment with the idroid development team.
Important part that you explained does not work. I tried more than ten times but no success. Press home button and immedeitly press enter NO NO NO. I can see the lines on ipod screen but nothing in terminal. Can you make two step installation commands for terminal. Or is there any other way yo do this?
you just wasted 2hrs of my life your link doesn't work and your instructions arent even close to clear none of the CD steps in terminal worked thanks for wasting my time
is the process to do this on linux or windows the same because i have both but i much more familiar with windows and didn't know if i could do this using windows plz help
@thakoolkid69 It would work with a 2nd gen but you would need the 2nd gen 3.1.2 firmware file and the 2nd gen Android files. The process is the same though.
@uberamd Where can you find the files for 2ND gen, the firmware is easy to get, but I've searched for those files of Android, and nothing, and I've searched a lot!
i have a problem, i do the loadibec openiboot.img3 command in cmd, i get error -6, help plz

maybe I'm a bit outdated, but I'm getting this error: /uberamd_idroid_v1/iDroid iPod Touch 1G/loadibec: Bad CPU type in executable
Is owning a PowerPC G4 such a crime?
If so, okay.
If not, could you publish a fix if possible?
P.S. I do have leopard installed.

you need libusb?
JAKExTHExRAKE 1 year ago
@JAKExTHExRAKE Yea, libusb MUST be installed to run the openiboot installer, otherwise you will get that text garbling effect that you speak of.
JAKExTHExRAKE 1 year ago
Terminal doesn't follow along with the installation, and the ipod launches the installer the text garbles up.
