  • i do not get the openiboot screen on my iPod it just stays with the connect to iTunes screen i have followed all the instructions and have a jailbreak with pwangetool 3.1.3

  • ts only 4 mac

  • what is the option key?

  • someone tell me what the option button is????

  • hm, when i push the homebutton and enter, in my terminal it does nothing.. what should i do?

  • maybe I'm a bit outdated, but I'm getting this error: /uberamd_idroid_v1/iDroid iPod Touch 1G/loadibec: Bad CPU type in executable

Is owning a PowerPC G4 such a crime?

    If so, okay.

If not, could you publish a fix if possible?

P.S. I do have leopard installed.

  • Terminal, is the cmd on windows ?

  • I hit enter after i hit the home button to install iboot and it runs through all the command lines on the ipod but it doesn't show up in terminal. Any suggestions/help?

  • @sportyc23 same!!!

  • u lie u know what? what about install open ssh on ipod first? u cant do openiboot if the ipod hasn't ssh installed

  • @blimblim04 Which I clearly tell you to do at the 2:30 mark in the part 2 video.

  • if you are going to do this, search for libusb first. THEN do this EXACTLY as instructed. i did not do the restore the first time, and i downloaded ssh in the wrong part of the install. the whole process messed up, and i had to start over.

  • i am going into my third time of doing this. the first time was my fault the second was the guy who wrote this. install cydia BEFORE openiboot! dont worry about the updating crap. just hit ignore. install cydia, and open ssh, THEN do the openiboot stuff.

  • @blimblim04 what is the option button

  • I get to 0:49, but then cydia shuts down, and when i reopen it, it just says loading data, and then it shuts down again! I have the latest Itunes, with mac os x 10.6.4

Would love it if someone helped me

  • @uberamd

that shows up in my terminal...

Ensure your iPod Touch is connected and at the Connect to iTunes screen

    Press Enter to continue...

    Launching loadibec with openiboot.img3 file...

  • when i type in all the commands and get to the welcome to the ipod touch 1G Openiboot assistant in terminal nothing changes on the ipod what do i do?

  • hey man great tut, but when i get tto the part after you hit console, the codes and writing show up on my itouch but not my terminal. then when i type install after, it doesnt work. any help?

  • Worked like a charm

wish all tutorials were like this

    very well made

  • i dont have an option key, what do i do?

  • you need libusb?

  • @JAKExTHExRAKE Yea, libusb MUST be installed to run the openiboot installer, otherwise you will get that text garbling effect that you speak of.

  • Terminal doesn't follow along with the installation, and the ipod launches the installer the text garbles up.

  • help!!! Everything works fine but I had a problem when pressing the home key and enter it is working but then it just stop and it says there " restore scanning virtual blocks 1000 - 1999"

  • would this work with an ipod touch 2g mc model???

  • is there a way to get android OS on ipod touch 2g

  • There are many questions about this project with certain device support. Just to say now, this is only working for the iPod Touch 1G, the iPhone 2G and 3G. The rest of the devices are being ported, but just to say, the iPod Touches aren't in high priority at the moment with the idroid development team.

  • hey there would this work in Linux at all?

  • everything was great until i pressed home and enter, the loading only showed up on my ipod, is there a step missing, please comment with an answer

  • @jordansegell you must have libusb installed

  • Important part that you explained does not work. I tried more than ten times but no success. Press home button and immedeitly press enter NO NO NO. I can see the lines on ipod screen but nothing in terminal. Can you make two step installation commands for terminal. Or is there any other way yo do this?

  • where do u get the 2nd gen android firmware?

  • where do u get the 2nd gen android firmware??

  • you just wasted 2hrs of my life your link doesn't work and your instructions arent even close to clear none of the CD steps in terminal worked thanks for wasting my time

  • @littleAZN248 If you can't follow simple instructions that's you're own fault. It's called being smart, and you clearly aren't.

  • @littleAZN248 sorry, all links work...

  • I can't get it to work every time i type in the runme.sh command this shows up;

Ensure your iPod Touch is connected and at the Connect to iTunes screen

    Press Enter to continue...

    Launching loadibec with openiboot.img3 file...

dyld: unknown required load command 0x80000022

    ./runme.sh: line 11: 1719 Trace/BPT trap ./loadibec openiboot.img3

  • Good tutorial, thanks, I'll try this on my old first gen once I've got iOS 4 on my 3GS. Big day today! :P

  • never mind got it

    thanks jailbrokenhacker

  • im having trouble with the first commands im able to change the directory but i cant connect to my ipod

  • does it have to be 1st gen??

  • @thakoolkid69 It would work with a 2nd gen but you would need the 2nd gen 3.1.2 firmware file and the 2nd gen Android files. The process is the same though.

  • @uberamd Where can you find the files for 2ND gen, the firmware is easy to get, but I've searched for those files of Android, and nothing, and I've searched a lot!

Please can you help me with that?

  • @uberamd will i get my music from the iOS on the droid part of the ipod?

  • @uberamd where do you get those files for the 2nd gen? everywhere i've looked said open iboot wasn't out for the 2nd gen yet...
