  • These chords aren't just for beginners; being a bit more advanced at guitar I really enjoyed watching and learning the chords from this video! Granted, I already had the muscle memory to play, I love the sound. Just posted a video response of me improvising after seeing the video, I hope you enjoy it! Thankyou!

  • I'm getting back to learning elec', I totally impressed with the tutor. A relaxed way of teaching and easy on the mind. I know it takes time, basically as a new beginner, come time I may invest in the dvd.

  • thanks so much for this, im glued to this video

  • Why do I pay for lessons when we have -goodpeople- like you teaching us on YouTube!?

  • Very good lesson! thank you! Sometimes when he talks he reminds me of James Hetfield of Metallica

  • Hey man, I checked out your website after watching these vids on Youtube. Took the 3 day trial and hot damn you are hilarious to watch. I've watched a few DVDs for beginning guitar and and nothing compares to your lessons.

I'll probably watch half of your videos before the trial is over but I'll be subscribing so I can say thanks! Also, I don't know if all your vids are this way, but the limited editing adds a ton of flavor and laughs along the way.

  • Hi - thanks so much for your kind words. SO glad that you like my lessons and that I can help you with your playing. Keep up all the hard work and keep on rocking!

    Take care

    David Taub

  • @rockongoodpeople yeah thanks to you dave now my fingers are fast as hell!

  • What I love about you guys is that your videos for beginners are great for players of all levels.

Keep doing what you do best!

  • When I heard you play the progression all together it was truely a beautiful sound, keep up the great work.

  • hi david...i recently purchased your strumming/rhythmn dvd series...very good!!! i enjoy your teaching style and your constant words of encouragement, very helpful for a beginner like me!! thank you!!!

  • Im sorry, but i have to say something......i think it is stupid how we have to pay in order to get the stuff on your website. i wanted to use the jam tracks and check them out, however, i do not want to pay for it, and i am sure that a lot of people are like this......just thought i should bring this to your attention.

  • thank you so much for actually taking the time to write out everything so I can see it visually, that really helps a lot. I'm a beginner and I have a tough time following a lot of other guitar teachers on youtube but you and everyone on your channel does an excellent job and I really really appreciate it. You help me progress every time I watch one of your videos. Have a great day!

  • thank you SO MUCH for actually taking the time to put tabs in, that helps so much! awesome video, you're a great teacher

  • thankyou this was really helpful

  • @crucifyme88 There is no dmaj in C it would be dmin so it can't be C

  • rock on NLG.... love ur vids man! guitar is the best instrument, been playin for 4 yrs now! nice riff, Dave, man..!!!

  • I like your way of encouraging people. I really enjoy it when you do this! Great video, beautiful chords, you really got me with the Gmaj chord. I love it

  • Hey david ,I always wonder that , if i never attend proper guitar lesson and learning from the basic lessons, will i be able to play guitar sucessfully? I've been learning guitar on my own using tabs from internet and youtube lesson , but those lesson i watch is not teaching me basics, im just learning directly from the song. For example, Metallica - Enter Sandman, and i cant catch up the solos, do u have any suggestion, i really need some enlightenment. Hope u can give some tips or advice

  • On the Dmaj7 I find that if you play it with second finger (middle) it makes the transition to Fmaj#11 easier as your middle finger is apready in postion. What do you think?

  • how are you able to put a Fmaj in the progression if your in G? Shouldn't it be a f#minor or dim?

  • @krewkid97 It is a flat VII so down a 1/2 step from the f#

  • David T., you are a good guy.

  • Thank you David for great lessons.

  • hey david, i've now got the limited edition epiphone afd guitar, I want to use 11's like slash, what brand should I use thnx?

  • i have to comment on this, i focused on changing chords bit time when i started, but i do wanna say is, don't get stuck! dont just practice going from G to C cuz it sounds good, because your get stuck and wont be able to go from a G to an E or something you no what i mean

  • Wow, thanks for this lesson.

Did really help with changing chords!

    Great work.

It would be great to have teachers like you around here.

  • Very cool!! thanks dude see you

  • i really enjoy your lessons and i've gotta say i really like your attitude, especially that thing in the end lol keep ut the good work ;)

  • That was one of the most informative videos I have ever seen. THANKS

    Les

  • hi sir,

I m planning to get a mexican made stratocaster, so its made in 2010 . Is mexican 2010 stratocaster are good plz help me

  • Hi - the mexican made fender stratocasters are a good value for the money. On the newer models (after 2000) the pickups can be a little weak - depending on the model - but other than that they are a very good value and a very versitile guitar. ENjoy and rock oN!

    David T

  • @Banukayasithadisanay I had a 1999 Mexican Standard and it was a good guitar! I put vintage noiseless pickups in it. Once I changed the pickups it sounded better. They were$150. I soldered the pickups myself. It's a customisable guitar!

  • Dude..that is the nicest sounding Taylor I've ever heard. What is the model number?

  • Hi - the guitar I use in this lesson is a Taylor GS5 - it has a solid cedar top and solid tropical american mahogany back and sides. Great guitar - love it!

Thanks for the kind words - take care and rock oN!

  • what do you do after you learned pretty much all of the open chords? ive tried barre chords but havent made much progress- i feel like ive hit a wall :(

  • @IkeProductions89 just play barre chords..you can't escape them :) just continue practicing..hey before i played barre chords, i used to practice 30 mins a day for barre chords only..build up your strength and make sure your thumb is in the right place :)..goodluck :)

  • Hi - continue to learn new chords like open position minor 7ths, open position major 7th, and open position 7th chords. As well as work on learning new strum patterns and working on your rhythm and timing and also embellishing the chords that you know already by adding and peppering in suspended and add chords - we have a full curriculum on these principles on our full on video instructional website - check it out

    rock on!

    -David Taub NLG
