The Guy Fawkes mask represents anonymity. In the movie V for Vendetta, V (and his supporters) use the mask to hide their identities from the government so that no-one will know who they are. Same thing here. People wear the mask so that the Church of Scientology can't nail them with their Fair Game policy.

We all knew that the numbers of last February couldn't be sustained, but when you compare what it cost Anonymous as opposed to what it cost The CoS, it is apparent who made out better because of the protests. As always, infighting and boredom have taken their toll on the movement. However, there will always be a diehard few like you lot that we keep on, like little pockets of uranium. I think it is only a matter of time before there is an influx of newfags that cause PC to flare up once more.

Actually, if you've been keeping an eye on things there have been some big things happening.

Some of the major players (like really major...top 100 types) in Scientology have recently left, helped along by the added pressure from Anon. Hundreds more lesser members have left.

The media reports on Scientology have increased ten-fold - all of them negative towards CoS.

Germany, France, Greece, and other countries are starting to clamp down hard.

Overall, your comment is just completely wrong.

Not to mention that literally hundreds of thousands of flyers have been handed to the public, which is a pretty major act of information dissemination - especially if you consider that for each flyer that is read, two or three more people hear about it word-of-mouth.

The point, according to Anonymous, was not to 'change the policies' - it was to 'systematically dismantle' the CoS. The most effective way to do that is to remove revenue streams and members. Another effective way to do that would be to inform as many public as possible.

Ergo their 'whole plan' is actually seeing quite a bit of success...the exact opposite of your 'overall' original point. Idiot.

I made no promise, I enjoyed the protest party, and frankly the first 3 protests were a right laugh and I had a great time eating mudkip cake and chanting.

Like many, I just wanted to have fun with fellow ebaums users, and i did. but stuff like the long boring speeches were just tl;dr, and ruined the fun for the hundreds that chose to drop out.

The reason i am so hate filled is because moralfags ruined my fun.

I never did it for the credibility, I'm a troll. I gave the protest a chance, but by may it got old and repetitve, I don't care one bit about scientology, I just did it for the lulz, and once the lulz wer gone, as was I.

The difference in bandwagonning is that I've been on ebaums for years, and now I hardly use it because of the influx of new people , patly due to the protests, that make ebaums suck these days.

Some interesting comments

QVS - the point there, as far as i can see, is to keep the pressure on the Scientologists. It also seems to serve as a meeting place before the 'tube raid'.

Masks - They have become iconic now, although i've noticed many people aren't even bothering with masks now. i don't think they scare kids, the ones i saw were mesmerised.

Numbers - Down, but stable. 50 people showing up each handing out 100 flyers is a heck of a lot of information disseminated in a year no?
