How ridiculous. I just find it laughable the idea that showing your hair and that you're actually female is immodest. If men are oggling, that's their fault.

Women aren't sexless. Shouldn't men cover up to protect my feeble animal mind from lustful temptation? Where's the equality in that? I am a proud woman and have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. I think to cover up to hide what you look like is to be ashamed of the way you were born. I refuse to live my life that way.

poor girls, they are so concerned with not being perceived as a person and not receiving respect from men unless they wear a hijab... and to think about it it's just a piece of fabric... if i am to wear something to cover my hair and my neck it will be for practical reasons like protecting myself from sun or cold weather ...or because that scarf is pretty and it goes with my outfit... not because the sky daddy commands me to, or men won't respect me and will try to rape me or smth...

Christianity is just as bad as Islam, it's just Islam is a younger religion with greater influence on the government and society. A lot of my friends and coworkers always had something negative to say to me about my hair. At first it really use to get up under my skin, now it dose not bother me at all. It's important to note that the bosoms should be covered with the veil, especially if you are wearing tight clothes. That is more modest and you will actually feel more comfortable if you wear the veil like that :) Peace...

So, what's the real reason for the Hijab? Umar wanted Allah to reveal to Muhammad verses pertaining the veiling of women. After his request was not met, Umar shamed one of Muhammad's wives by seeing her relieveing herself, and so Allah gave Muhammad the Hijab verses.

I wear hijab as a command from my Creator, Allah Who knows what is best for me and does not oppress me. It is Allah I am trying to please. One of the virtues of hijab is modesty. Modesty is not wrong, ugly or offensive to Allah. Hijab is an outward reflection of what is in the heart. Understanding why it is required to cover any of the body at all, is understanding why some people are required to cover as much of the body as possible.

Because I have pushed myself I know have a wonderful career in my feild of Fine arts, I have showed in galleries have good contacts. This is a great video, I wish that more people would watch it. I am a Canadian who wears the hijab. I was originally a catholic and converting to a Muslim and I completely agree that it was 100% my choice to wear it, I feel more beautiful wearing the hijab and covering then when I didn't. The hijab has allowed. Alot of people are very rude towards the hijab and I have struggle in the work world because of it, but I kept pushing myself and not allowing people to hurt me because of what I wear.
