@mecateman Your and idiot in my first month of BJJ I was submitting wrestlers who have been training for years haha. Now after a year i can submit national champ wrestlers off my back, I also wrestle too once a week. PPl who compare wrestling to BJJ are fucking retarded because there 2 completely different disciplines & u need them both to be great. Wrestling = takedowns/Base, And u need BJJ on the floor = Transitions,Sweeps,Sub defense/Offense, and Getting back to your feet. (Pun Intended)
@TheDarceChoke I didn't know if you knew this or not, but BJJ was developed for women. It was supposed to teach them how to defend themselves if they are ever raped. Besides Royce Gracie was considered the man in the UFC for how long? Then it evolved and he wasn't the only one who knew BJJ and he was nothing to the wrestler who became UFC Welterweight champ Matt Hughes. Remember that? I do. How many UFC champs wrestled in college or high school? 18 and counting. BJJ-7, which is a stretch.
@chade1983 Um I have had the honer to learn BJJ techniques from Matt Hughes at a NO GI seminar, Matt Hughes has SICK BJJ, Hes just not ranked because he trains no gi.
@chade1983 Yeah does that matter? no, who cares what martial art u start training first, Obviously hes primarily a wrestler, Im just saying hes no Novice or stranger when it comes to BJJ hes well equipped. Ask Royce Gracie, Gsp,BJ Penn,Joe rigs, or even frank trig how good Hugues BJJ is :()
@TheDarceChoke What does it matter? I don't know why you're talking about BJJ on a video about wrestling. Maybe you brought up BJJ, which is off topic and now the two of us are discussing a topic that doesn't relate to the video. Joe Riggs and Frank Trigg both wrestled before they learned any BJJ. As a base wrestling is about as good as it gets. Wrestling teaches you how to dominate. BJJ teaches you how to be submissive. In an octagon, domination usually wins.
@TheDarceChoke You are right kid, it doesn't matter. My point is BJJ is a good asset to have but it is hardly the most dominating style in the world of MMA and combat sports in general. Effective strikes are far more effective than submissions. Look at there are Strikers and submission specialists. Most top strikers beat most top submission specialists, why? Because getting blasted in the ace by someone's fist, foot, elbow, or knee usually makes them let go of whatever it is they have ahold of.
@1threekid yea but what most mma guys dont get the wrestlers that train in these local clubs usuall all blow this guy is a stud so he has a good start
