And truthfully, I thought that SE did a good job with making Emperor Mateus sort of slip into a Seymour type position as far as the FFX characters were concerned. I was never a big fan of Seymour, and regarded him as a massive pain in his original game. Emperor Mateus, however, has a presence that speaks of a bigger threat to me. Seymour failed for me in that regard.

@singerinwhite Seymour doesn't do enough to be a great villain by himself, but he was never supposed to be that in the first place. SIN is the main villain. Seymour is there to give the game a human villain that is hateable. SIN, being the animal that it is, isn't very hateable, so that's where Seymour comes in.

Seymour cold have served an interesting role in the story, considering how unique his motivation in FFX was, but they went with the obvious Tidus - Jecht pairing. oh well

It's just that his presence didn't really stand out for me, although I do agree that Seymour's presence in Dissidia would be interesting. His intentions for Spira match the needs of Chaos. XD. But I understand that the main gimmick of Dissidia wasn't really the plot or the dialogue, but the fact that it's a crossover with characters being pitted against each other. I'm not really surprised we see Tidus vs Jecht.

I don't think it would be too difficult to fit Seymour in on Dissidia. His concept would involve using fira, blizzara, thundara, and watera in order, then he could transform into Natus to attack with his wierd scorpion friend to combo with, then turn into Omnis to cast high level spells like that -agas, flare, break, and ultima. Then come EX Mode, he would turn into Flux (lets face it, Flux was harder than Omnis), then use Total Annhilation as his EX Burst. Simple.

@MissKrissyValentine Are you referring to being a better villain in Dissidia? I agree. Seymour was great. And Jecht? For all intents and purposes, he isn't TRULY a villain. But there's a solid reason as to why they included Jecht instead of Seymour. They wanted to have "chemistry" between these heroes/villains. Square acknowledged how Seymour and Tidus say, almost literally, 2 things to each other the entire game. Now, Jecht and Tidus? They have a perfect connection. They're father and son!

The writers could make those two have the one-on-one conflict in Dissidia that they lacked in FF10. Most likely, if Sin wasn't around Seymour would probably have been the main villian, he was much more of a real villian than Sin was.

For instance, Tidus' story was trying to settle things with his father. You see a good look at their relationship, and Tidus' motivation to fight. Without Jecht, what would Tidus' story be, and his reason to fight? One thing the story nailed was the insight into characters and their reason to fight, shown through the heroes vs. their villains.

I think Seymour would be an interesting character to have in this. I mean he's no slouch in physical ability (when you use him against Sinspawn Gui his attacks did a fair bit more than Yuna's and Lulu's, at least for me anyway), and he has some pretty powerful magic up his sleeve.

And oh god Anima... lol.

But yeah, loved this theme a lot when I fought him in Sin. Fitting given how insane he had become, and with how obsessed with the idea of saving Spira by destroying it.

The only reason I support the decision to include Jecht over Seymour, is that there's already enough mages in the game, and they're almost all on the villains side. i have an idea for dissidia 2..

do it mvc style 3 on 3. and a ratio system. 2 magicians with a fighter, or the other way around. CVS2 style basically. throw in a bunch of characters from the series and make ur own teams. that way, yuna and seymour make sense in a fast paced game

I think Dissidia should've had side characters for fun ans Seymour could've been one. Maybe Yuffie due to the fact her costumes rule and she would be and awesome fighter in dissidia, FFX-2 Yuna would be kick arse and like Cecil and Onion Knight(EX MODE) Depending on where she was and what she was doing she could change classes, Ashe would've been hot, Kain too
