@malcolmeter Some jailbroken apps preference files do get backed up throughout the backup. I don't use Installous so I can't vouch for this. However your Cydia themes aren't backed up. You will need to re-download those after you perform a restore.

i jailbroke my iphone 4s using this and it froze. It is stuck on the connect to itunes screen. I tried restoring it and it wont work. i used multiple plugs, multiple computers and still no luck. What do I do? is there any way i can completely erase all jailbreak data? because i have to bring it to verizon to see if it can be fixed.?

@sliceskatebmx Yes! Put it in DFU mode. Just do a YouTube search for how to do that - and then once iTunes recognizes it as recovery mode, click restore.

I followed your instructions to a T. But, when I get to 5:30 in the video and the unlock screen appears my phone then ask for the sim lock code. I course, I didn't punch it in (as instructed not to touch phone) but the program closes because of this. Can I jailbreak the phone without a sim card?

I have a iPhone 4s on 5.0.1 and I just jail broke it and everything seems fine but when I downloaded a keyboard tweak from cydia, then selected it in winter board and re-springed, they keyboard is still default. What am I doing wrong? Do the cydia apps not work with my iPhone with 5.0.1?
