Listen you packed the game in before 56s was introduced remember! I saw 56s about for 20 years and you was always guaranteed a clag storm when one pulled away even if it had only been idling for 10 minutes, but that looks like a idling for an hour job to me! Its a gud un!

jammiebeasts is absolutely right. It is nothing to do with knackered piston rings. Because of the high cylinder pressures class 56s tend to spit a bit of oil into the silencer when idling. It is just what they do, even when freshly overhauled. That oil then burns off when power is applied again, and after a couple of minutes the exhaust is clean. They all do it.
