  • i like his thicker accent much better. it sounds stronger here than on his show

  • LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!

    Lol, JK, Love Craig!

  • balls

  • It's like he was born with a "®" stamp on him--he can't be copied, ever... Someone to love!<3 lmao keep it up8D

  • The things he said(and didn't say)are EXACTLY the reasons I can't watch Jay Leno. Jay has become so base, and I find him genuinely unkind. Craig, on the other hand, exhibits kindness, a sense of humor & humility. I was truly moved by his monologue, and encouraged in my own sobriety. Craig is an example of not TELLING people what they should DO or how they should LIVE, but leads by EXAMPLE what HE has done. Not once do I perceive that this was motivated by self promotion or ratings. Thanks Craig!

  • Celebrities can be real assholes and I generally don't sympathize with many of them, but there is a line. I remember the day after Heath Ledger died I heard some ditzy radio dj making jokes about how he was probably having sex with his masseuse before he overdosed and I just felt like punching her in the face for being such a cruel stupid cunt. It's just not painful enough for his family already is it? Let's pour salt in their wounds for ratings and a few cheap laughs. Fucking human garbage.

  • Craig shows more depth than most other comedians.

  • I vote for Craig to host next years Golden Globes.

  • so many idiots today. Craig Ferguson on his "Wee Bit of Revolution" special features interview said "Freedom of thought requires thought." People think "freedom of thought" means they can say all the stupid crap they want, but people also need to be sensitive to others and aware of the possible ramifications that come with what they say.

  • What a class act! He has learned something that so many other people needs to learn.

  • Craig, will you sponsor me?

  • this man has class.CLASS!!!i have been watching his show for a long time and never have seen or heard anything malicious or denigrating towards others, especially those who clearly need help.he is several heads and shoulders above his competition in that sense.

  • He sounds more scottish in interviews than on tv

  • A true gentlemen.

  • What an intelligent man. With a keen sense of humanity and an abundance of logic and common sense he's funny as hell

    Well done Craig

  • I always thought he was funny, and a great comedian. But when I saw his monologue about alcoholism, I realized that I not only liked him, but I respected him more than any other "Celebrity" in the world.

  • I love his intellect

  • Alcoholism is a disease. Mr. Ferguson is a gentleman who happens to have the same disease. None, the less, he is a gentleman. We have all just been schooled by him. Thank you sir. The last time I saw a man like this on a regular basis, both of my grandfathers were living, and they were the benchmark for me, other than my own father. Lets bring being a gentleman back to the forefront men.

  • Yay Craig.

  • He's a good man.

  • Respect.

  • Since when was Giuliana Depandi (or Giuliana Rancic) a correspondent on CBS News? Good to see she's getting more work.

  • I, too really respect this man for calling out our shared societal idiocy. Craig also handled issues relating to the late night circus and cast in a gentlemanly way. He was still funny, but clever. He understands the power of what *not* to say. Alright. I admit that I am head-over-heels for this guy. Now, even more.

  • This is a genuine human

  • Much respect to this man.

  • Humility WIN!

  • A Gentleman

  • craig u were right, that girl didnt need 2 b poked fun at , i've seen the grammy pics(2010) of brittney and i'm happy 2c that she might have grown in to her skin , and not be 'that girl' whose commited a social faux pas because she's a real person who's has had kids. Just because she doesnt look like taylo

    kids....which is the most important???

a mother of 2 or is it 3 doesnt look like

  • Stupid ass reporter.. she just wanted the name britney spears in everywhere so they can make some bucks..

  • I cut my own hair.. Craig is amazing :)

  • Craig's my respects even if he doesnt know me. thanks for being real craig

  • I've always liked watching him and I found his original mono quite brave and heartfelt. He is a standup guy in more ways than one!

  • He is a man, this is what one looks like people. Not some shitheel rightwinger hiding behind his fans!

  • i totaly agree

  • thank you. real men!

  • RESPECT

  • Nice guy. A real human being.

  • This is why you're always welcome in Vancouver, Craig.

    Always.

  • Well said Craig. I can't tell you how proud I am of you. And how wonderful it is that your are 15 years old. Thanks to you and the higher power. I AM AMAZED EVERYDAY. Today it was you. Thank you.

  • @POLDARICO2008 - what ? How old are ? You say Craig is Dumb-- hey he is smarter then you- your writing was atroscios. He must be smart, he has more money than you or I.

  • Completely agree with Craig, what the hell is wrong with our society. When does the death of a person and whats gonna happen to her baby become entertainment!!

  • @libster1018 it's as simple as voltaire's quote, "Common sense isn't so common", that is what is wrong with today's society. But keep in mind, the lack of common sense is incrimented by design.

  • Craig suddenly shot up from a kinda funny dude to a role model in my eyes.

  • I am 10 years clean of being a cocaine addict,,but it would be so easy to go back. I don't think that feeling ever goes away..you fight it every day for the rest of your life. I applaud you Craig!

  • "Manners are more important than laws" - Rt Hon Edmund Burke 1729-97

I must agree with Craig's sentiment. Just because you can say anything you like, doesn't mean you should.

  • Craig is a human bieng .

  • craig is a fucking genious

  • Craig is a real man, I revere his honesty, especially in a world that wants drama and personal conflict to contrast our personal experience as if we all do not have issues ourselves.

  • I believe Mr. Ferguson would be quite turned off by comparing him as being like Mr. Limbaugh, who in my opinion does not speak the truth; he's paid to rile y'all up, you denser folk what listen to him.

  • This clip just end with an Absolut Vodka ad. This whole clip was indirectly about alcoholism and it is ended with a booze commercial. Classy

  • its just...amazing-i dont think i've ever been so moved by a celebrity while not acting are yes acting

  • people talk about letterman and leno and carson and conan. to me craig has the best qualities of all of them; the wit of leno and letterman, the social awkwardness of o'brian, and the class of johnny. i respect him tremendously for staying true to himself and doing what he feels is right for him. i'm sure he caught a lot of flack for this from the corporate heads, but he did what was right for him. he's still just a regular guy, not a panderer like the rest of the late night talk show scene

  • Great man. It spoke VOLUMES when he said, "I don't think this girl is well."

I don't think Britney is upset if she's not getting attention. I've seen an interview of her crying that she just wanted some people to back off.

She's quite a tough young woman. She takes a lot of crap. I don't think the average person would be able to take such a huge amount of criticism and teasing. I know I wouldn't be able to!!

  • craig is fantastic.... love him

  • gosh, i love him

  • he was and is amazing, he is down to earth, like your goofy friend in highschool, I am so mesmorized byt this man, I wish there were 20 more like him and one close to Dallas.

  • I remember him on British TV many years ago and had no idea until recently he'd been so successful.

What's more impressive is his unstarlike integrity.

  • I wish I was Craig!!! hes sooo awsome!! haha!!

  • I llove craig he's so funny. He's so eloquent with his words. I wish him nothing but the best. Very appropiate.

  • Ferguson is a class act!

  • good man that Craig. and he's right, our society lacks empathy.

  • Superbly said graig.

  • dammit its CRAIG! why does eceryone think its greg.

  • Typo. I might have confused the spelling but I'm english, I know how it's prononced anyaway

  • I think it's because the way Americans pronounce his name is very much unlike the British (or Scottish) way of pronouncing it. We would say cray-g as opposed to cregg.

  • i dont like spears. but this is true. and if she would be hurt that he aint talkin bout her.. well she got some issues

  • amen!!

  • i honestly cant find any sort of physical attraction for that depandi chick. she looks like chucky

  • I found his decision and his sppech during his show very appropriate and inspiring...

I wish him well for everything..

  • cudos, mr ferguson!

  • Craig Ferguson has all my respect. He has real integrity and humanity which is something that you hardly ever see on television.

  • hes such an amazing guy...

  • A funny guy with integrity. How often do you come across that I ask you?

  • obrien leno, all garbage straight out of a dog's ass compared to this man

  • Great couric impression. Gotta love those emotive head nods.

  • Oh love his accent!! I don't know but when he's on the show, the accent doesn't goes out to much!!:P yeah Craig is so right!!

  • Probably the most mature person i've heard speak. He was doing the right thing.

  • lol was she even listening to him? hes so funny. but yeah hes right for what he did

  • The thing he said at the end is exactly what i was thinkin. "Im AMAZED that NOT poking fun at someone has become a new story"

  • Totally agree with you. It's strange that not poking fun at someone is a story?!?!

  • i'm a recovering heroin addict. And i wanna use so bad right now. I've been sober about 3 months and i'm looking for stuff to make the urge go away. This man is amazing. So honest and so true. And so good to put it out in the open how hard it is to quit. to just admit you have a problem. This is great that he did this and i never knew about it till now. I wish I could personally thank him.

    Indy.

  • craig is probably the most human a human can get. he's been through almost everything. he's inspired me as well as countless others i have met. he gets A LOT of hate from people that he doesn't deserve. i'm glad he's inspired you ^_^ you have a lot of strength to quitsuch an addiction. i hope you're doing well.

  • I always felt somewhat sorry for Brittney...

Good to see someone who is willing to let their conscience dictate their actions...

    For once...

  • Wow, could Craig BE any more well-spoken? He's respecting Britney without even intending to! Best host ever!

  • He really is one of a kind, man. You don't come across people like this often and its just refreshing when you do. You go craig for doing what you believe in!

  • i agree with craig

i mean people shouldent poke fun at those who need help

  • Craig is awesome! what a way to take a stand

  • For a highschool drop out, he always has something intelligent to say.

  • What? He was here? Doing standup? BLAST I MISSED HIM.

    When was this?

  • wise words, mr ferguson!

  • Well said Craig

  • I love this man!!! Way to go Craig! Toronto loves you :)

  • "I don't think this girl needs poke fun at right now"

EXACTLY. I mean, I think that all the attention she's getting -and has been getting ever since she became a 'star'- is driving her nuts. Not that the media should be solely held responsible for her recent behavior, but I think they play a very important role.

The girl needs help, not more media coverage.

  • well said

  • I love Craig.I first heard about Ziggy Marley when he was a guest on his show.

  • Craig, Help Save a Scot! We want to see Paul 'the hot Scot' McGillion on your awesome show!

    Save Carson dot Com

  • lol yahhh go Paul Mcgillion WOOOOOOOT

  • You can really hear his Scottish accent. When he's doing his show, I think he kinda talks a little different. His accent isn't that pronounced.

  • totaly agree with you furg'

  • He has a pearsunelle heesturi with this sought uf theeng.

  • That was a brave move. He's right of course. When you've hit rock bottom, you know how others might feel.

  • Very classy Craig, very classy!

  • Good job. Maybe this will catch on?

  • We all agree. but it wont, and that is sad.

  • Awesome Craig. Glad to see the Scottish in you.

  • I don't think he's saying we shouldn't make fun of people. I think what he's saying is we shouldn't be poking fun at people when our comments can potentially hurt them at a vulnerable moment. Possibly the reason Britney checked into rehab, for example, is that she got sick of being in the spotlight. When somebody tappes out of the ring, it's time to stop punching.

  • I agree with you, its pretty lame to take hits at somebody when they're down and beat

  • Hell yes Craig. bravo.

  • I'm amazed /not/ poking fun of someone is a news story too O_O

  • I remember Craig's boss David Letterman once famously took a similar principled stance by refusing to do OJ jokes for months after the Brown murders, saying he found nothing funny about double homicide. But as soon as it was felt that Dave's OJ free zone was losing him ratings to the OJ-Joke-Machine Jay Leno, Letterman soon dumped his principals very quickly.

  • A real gentleman.

  • Even if he did it for him ...It is the right thing to do. He is a very smart and very funny man.

  • This reporter really missed the boat in the interview...here is something, what Craig did on his show (and I watched it live), was really incredible. He took a stand, showed his flaws to the world, confessed that he at one time needed help and made a point to try to help others in the same circumstance that he had been in. And this reporter thinks she needs to interview him as to 'why he didnt make fun of Britney Spears?'

  • True, and CBS uploaded that video on youtube... here, somewhere.

    He's a good man.

  • I'm not sure what to make of Craig Ferguson's stance on Britney Spears. I mean, at one point in the interview, he mentioned that everyone in the world needs help. Well, if we're all hurting to some degree, why poke fun at anybody in your monologue? There's a whiff of double-standard here, I think. (And I'm a diehard Craig fan, myself.)

  • Everyone needs help at certain stages of their lives, not constantly. So this is Brintey's stage and that is why it is not appropriate to poke fun now. I do not see any double standards.

  • sophiapoincare: I can see your point. Thanks.

  • I salute this guy!!! A man who is not scared to make a stand. Good for him.

  • Who is this bitch and how did she get on television? Did she win a contest or something? Why is she interviewing people?

  • A lot of times when a alcoholic talks. They are actually reminding themseives that this disease is cunning, and powerful. Unfortunatly our society likes to make fun of people who are down and out.

  • I think its more that, you know, you have to draw the line SOMEWHERE... I mean, there are certain things that you simply can't make into comedy (IE: someone's death, someone's weakest moment, etc)... I personally think he did this because in his view, you know, you gotta preserve some sanctity for something.

  • I don't think Craig's got an "angle" here. I think he's doing just what he said--making a personal decision not to attack a vulnerable person based on personal experience. Like he said, "It's about doing something... that I believe in doing... this wasn't for Britney Spears, this was for ME."

  • wow hes is so humble, he is a great person he did this so he could have a clear conscious and to be proud of the job he does

  • When did that woman from CNN said about Ann Nicole Smith? I didn't understand..

  • 20 point for Ferguson

  • 100 points. 80-because he's smart,funny and goodloking!

  • Fine, 120 points, 20 b/c he has sound effects at his desk

  • Now you are asking for trouble,man/woman! I really don't think that Craig cares so much-if he gets an Emmy or not. And if he doesn't-I don't care. I'll still like[love] him. Craig is amazing and gifted man. That's a fact.

  • I actually Totally agree with you, I also think that Craig is a nice gifted man and he is my favorite Comedian at the moment(by far), but I can't buy him this whole "ImMotherTeresanow, andIgottaHelpBritney" attitude he adopted, he sound like a politician in a election campaign.

Specially BECAUSE I'm a Diehard Craig fan and know almost all of his previous Monologes I can't believe it, if he's going to stop making fun of the Weak he has to prove it first.

  • Yeah, but if you paid attention, he said he chose not to for himself, not to help Britney. As a reformed alcoholic who had hit rock bottom, the story resonated enough with him he decided not to touch it. He has a conscience and isn't a comedian who has to be snide and vicious like so many can be (and actually, being provocative for the sake of it is far from comic ingenuity. Being provactive as a side to a genuine point being raised is lacking in a lot of comic material).

  • The point is not "WHY" he did it. The point is that "HE DID IT". The question "WHY" is not scientific by the way.

  • damn, he´s so right! Thanks for sharing! That guy is a genius! I have deep respect for him and his decisions!
