It's just the opening acoustic guitar part played by Mo. And it may be that the "G" string - the most problematic string on a guitar - is slightly flat. "B" strings all usually are slightly sharp when fretted at F1. Because of Barry's open "D" (1-5-1-3-5-1 intervals) and his playing style, the usually bad relationship between the "G" and "B" on regular tuning/playing isn't an issue.

I hate it when record companies and radio stations cut a song to shit. I mean I didn't even know this version existed until I looked it up and it's only longer by 20 seconds max. I mean have you ever heard Call and Answer by the Barenaked Ladies? They're Canadian and the song clocks in at 5 minutes plus, but you wouldn't know it when it is played on the radio. There are so many examples it would take too long to list them but I think you get the drift.
