L'ho ascoltato a Gorizia giovedì sera. Un gran bel concerto e lui oltre che essere particolarmente bravo è anche molto simpatico sia in scena che nel contatto diretto.
Not only superbly swingin' but it's great to hear Fats reharmonized and stridin'. The Tatum influence in the tune is palpable and the bit from 4:16 to about 4:30 borders on the Mephisto Waltz of striding. Bravo Maestro-
I like this version of Fats Wallers Ain`t Misbehavin`. Just heard Moroni only once before with a fantastic interpretation of Coltranes Giant Steps in Erroll Garner Style on Ray Browns recording "Some of my best friens are....The Piano Players".
I heard him last year play with Bert Joris in Gent "Jazz in't park" and yesterday in Antwerp "Jazz Middelheim" and again superb, they have this electrofiying way of getting the audience attention...superb
You are trying to get personal, whereas comment was about performance and was both sharp and perceptive.I believe we need diverse opinions:that´s what democracy is about!
Stiff, heavy-handed,pretentious!He has too many records and can´t decide if he wants to be Oscar Peterson,Art Tatum or Errol Garner in the course of one tune!

I agree with you. And from 3:05 to 3:14 there are some nice licks from Oscar Peterson. But the most memorable was the stride you say.

Very nice pianist indeed. It's nice to see that musicians are keeping the tradition alive.
You might want to check this pianist too, Eric Meridiano playing Liza on youtube.
