@vton19631 Kind of, but not really. It's not about revering a parent, but of being grateful. This nursery rhyme was written to scare children to be grateful of their mothers, because not having one sucks. They never thought, though, of the children who really didn't have a mother, and who feel mocked by the second verse. It's pretty controversial, obviously. Therefore, people hardly ever sing the second verse anymore.
