My whole family is filled with darker skinned people, for some reason I am 1 of the only light skinned people in my family and the lightest at that. @1926salonika Thanks for the compliments. This dress is actually not traditional Indian. It is heavily influenced by Turkish and Iranian attire. The jewellery too is also influenced quite a bit. This style of Kathak evolved as a result of Mughal rule in India.

Some of the early forms of this music are Nigahen Milane Ko Ji Chahta Hai (choreographed by the same choreographer as this one when she was 11), Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Jab Raat Hai Aisi Matwaali, Sanam Tu Bewafa Ke Naam Se, Chehra Chhupa Liya Hai, Salaam-e-Ishq. I've mostly quoted examples of mujras which is Darbari Kathak set to qawwalis, khayaals, thumris and ghazals.
