  • song gets to me every time.

  • this song and setup always makes me cry so sad

  • i hate how they gave this song a religious overtone, the song was about Paul's mother, Mary.

  • @neil182sr The song always had a religious overtone...

  • snow flakes

  • Watching Across the Universe and this part always makes me cry....

  • most people don't realise that the kid they are having the funeral for is Jojo's son

  • @ChuggaSmoshFan Really! I didn't know that...I thought it was like his baby brother. OMG that makes this 100 times sadder now :'(

  • @ChuggaSmoshFan no the boy is Jojo's brother not son

  • four people worship satan

  • and the tears roll

  • Major goosebumps. Sooo powerful

  • 4 people didn't let it be

  • WTF you just cant shoot people like that

  • 4 people have no souls

  • Did they auto-tune their voices, or could it be the audio quality? They sound much better live.

  • @Qu33nii uhh,,,what?

  • the first time i watched this movie i repeated 2:36 - 2:45 so so many times.

  • NO sound on this video :(

  • @kevinlmanon ? yes there is?

  • @39120c no i hear no sound from only this vid :s

  • @kevinlmanon I mean it starts off muted but you can unmute it i guess, idk there is sound

  • 4 people have no heart

  • the woman in the church choir singing is beyond amazing. this whole video brings tears to my eyes. the little boy is a very good singer but that woman brings chills to my bones.

  • It's so hard to watch. I've got so much family overseas. I don't live far from Detriot and thinking about the way innocent people were pulled off the streets because others were rioting is such a hard thing to imagine. Especially children. This part of the movie was most def the hardest for me to watch...This movie is EPIC. Love love love the Beatles!

  • This scene is a million times sadder to me now that my cousin joined the army, i realize that if anything happens to him this is what his ceremony would be like.

A question, what event does the scene where the black kid dies represent? What happened there?

  • @purplefreak7410 There were race riots in Detroit (And other urban centers) during the late 60's. Riots -> people die.

  • i want this sung or played at my funeral and im not even catholic

  • @sarahbogayongsister4 do you really need to be catholic to like the beatles

  • @sarahbogayongsister4 i dont think the beatles were catholic either

  • 4 ASSHOLES

  • Carol Woods makes tis song!!!!!!

  • 4 f@kn heartless freaks!!!

  • Why drop the bike when it would be faster to ride it to the house other than running like she did?

  • i want this sung at my funeral

  • When I watched this during music class, I was holding back tears.

  • Mother Mary comes to me <3

  • We all hurt when our loved on passes away no matter the color of our skin or our station in life. We are all humans with one heart and one soul.

  • goosebumps like a motherfucker

  • @ATXSmokinAce Me too

  • Music is music not religion. And I'm sure that The Beatles were very spiritual which is different than religion and that is why the music resonates across multiple lines.

  • I want to go to that church YuY

  • The idea is, you just have too let God's will play out no matter what pain. Let it be, there will be a answer

  • @masio13 get god out of it, and you'll be right boy ! Don't get it wrong, but i doubt Sir mccartney wrote it about god ! Cheers !

  • Tim Mitchum sounds a lot like Paul McCartney...

  • Best song and singing in the movie!

  • @Superfartfucktard420 stfu and gtf off of YouTube and stay off.

  • This makes me ALMOST cry every time I watch this.

  • wow. how can someone dislike this, the film/ this scene told the sense of the song perfectly, thats, what the beatles wanted to tell with this song that scenes like that should be erased and humans should be friendly to each other and don't shoot or kill each other.

I am from germany so if there are mistakes: sorry. :x

  • this was the more respectful time, when the voices heard at funerals were singing, not protesting

  • Who would dislike this??? Its so moving fantastic cover with the Gospel singers

  • It speaks to me in different way, it says to me that the US was fighting overseas and fighting in the USA, especially during the 60's.

  • this song makes me so cry...

  • Wish the little boy would have sung more of it.

  • Damn, that woman can fuckin SING!

  • Mo' tiroteio e o guri fica cantando de boa, mereceu levar chumbo

  • Timothy Mitchum graduated from my school last year. :D

  • LET HIM PEE!

  • I don't know about the rest of you, but I personally thought the chorus leader's voice was phenomenal.

  • this gets me every time.

  • =*(

  • @Gleeko12 Okay, thanks.

  • What is Across the universe? A movie?

  • @Sharieflove

Yes it is. It's kinda corny at times, but there are a couple gems like this in the movie.

A must see if you're a Beatles fan

  • The fat lady is sigging my ass off

  • @afendapraporbeatles : thats queen latifa, shes awesome

    xD

  • @TheMadcroc23

Queen Latifah? You aren't talking about the woman in the video, are you? Carol Woods?

  • @TheMadcroc23

    wow you're so wrong.

  • her voice is so powerful :) best song of the movie. noth of the singers are so good :)

  • I remember watching this movie in the theaters....when that little boy appeared on the screen in his coffin...You could hear the entire audience gasp with grief...Easily the most powerful and moving part of this whole movie. A fitting tribute to one of the greatest songs ever written.

  • i love this video.. i love the movie and the actresses and actors and singers they hand in this movie did the beatles justice along with the producer of the movie

  • this breaks my heart every time i hear it. especially after i watched the studio recording. the whole group seems to just break down and cling to eachother

  • Every single time I listen to this song I get goosebumps.

  • I listened to the commentary. That kid is singing that a cappella live as that happens around him. That's fantastic.

  • I can't help but to cry EVERY single time I hear her belt this out!!!! Call me a fag if you must but this song breaks my heart!

  • This song is really sad enough to make me wow....!!!!

  • sorrow knows no color!

  • my all time favorite scene of this movie!

  • 5 stars man. :')

  • which movie is this ?

  • @somethinglikelala

    Across The Universe

  • This song should be a gospel song!!!

I love this movie and the beatles.

When ever I see this or the movie I have to cry it's sooo sad

  • i love gospel music so much! it can be so many different emotions.

in this case bawl your eyes out sad lol

  • everytime i watch/sing along i go on the verge of tears :(

  • @ChelseyNicoleLove i dont thinnk so, but it could very well be his doppleganger

  • good song from the beatles and this video made it 2x better

  • aw im going 2 cry! AMAZING! :(

  • damn...they just blew the beatles outta the water.

  • Astonishing film; she did such an amazing job with the entire piece. If I had to pick, though, this is my 'favorite' scene/song.

It's horrifying, and I still can't watch without tears streaming down my face. The juxtaposed scenes of loss and terror's familiar--yet unrecognized--affects

The division, the pain, the visuals, and those tremendous vocals.

    Brilliant.

  • this song moved me so much. my brother can relate to the little kid dieing cause when he was 10 one of his friends died

  • i love this song it has moved me in so many ways! :)

  • i love the very small subtle filming...at the beginning the dog tags falling and then the hand on the fence...at th end when he holds the dirt...man amazing...

if you look at the other videos and throughout the movie you'll notice it... :]

  • 'Mother-Mary-Mother-Mary comes to me!'

    Mmm....goosebumps...

  • this scene is heartbreaking. but it makes this movie that much more hard-hitting. very powerful.

  • I've got goosebumps.

  • Not only was that particular scene touching because of the context, but the song just made it that much more heart wrenching, everytime I hear that song I cry, especially when sung like that. Its a good song, and I dont think they could have chosen a better one for that scene.

  • this video is also stating that even through a little kid dieing on the streets and a solider in battle r very different theres really no difference between how much they are missed or mourned love the beatles :]

  • @toieo1 it actuly the same as wat happen it diffrrent contrys

  • that lil boy is a very good singer

  • its a great movie.

  • Its the Detroit riots that went on during the time period the movie was conveying, not some deep racism metaphor, it was a song that was chosen to express the sadness and heartache of the event. I'm not trying to contradict you just infor you of the meaning

  • Running? What? They're rioting chief.

  • OK, you are an idiot, it's supposed to be racially dividing. Thats what was going on in the 60's. Didn't you learn about that in school? That kind of crap actually happened and yes cops and military were killing black people, and hispanics, because our country's history is full of racism. So its not a stupid video, youre just a stupid viewer. Go back to school, and learn something before you post comments that make you sound retarded. I mean seriously, that is retarded, youre a dumbass.

  • this song is so compeling especially to people with loved ones in the military amazing directing n great imagery

  • i cried when i realized that the little boy died!!! this whole song made me cry! it made me feel so lucky for everything i have

  • don't you feel so selfish after watching this? like, yesterday, I cried because I thought I looked fat. Um, my best friend made fun of me, my life is over.

Then this... I'm kind of disgusted with myself, you know?

  • i love this film...this scene rips me up though

  • sad part of the movie but kudos to the director; this scene was well executed and fucking full of emotions. I cried, I'll admit that.

  • crzy sad

  • I just have to cry this is so full of emotions,

it's the best song i now!

If this ghospel was in all churches, then i'll go there every single day!

    x

  • me too :(

  • The best and most touching song ever.

  • If anyone wants to watch this its on TODAY at 5:00am on skyDrama

  • my favorite part of this movie, the middle got a little weird with all the trippy songs, but this was a good movie

  • this is the sad part to tell you the truth

  • That woman can sing!

  • tim mitchum is the little boy, damn hes a good singer

  • amazing :)

  • i love the part where the black momma begins to sing...i just want to cry

  • We are singing this version in our ambassador's choir for our European tour. I love it so much! The boy at the beginning is so talented. I hope to see this movie during my 7 hour layover.

  • noone ever told me netty was going. damn it. i hate that. and i love her........try to hate nothing...and love everything

  • i always cry every time i watch this.

    it's a really moving scene.

    Relieving all from the bright,

Sitting in pain searching to be free,

    Wondering if it'll be...

  • does anyone know where to download THIS FULL version? the one on limewire cuts out the best part

  • type in across the universe soundtrack and let it be should appear just fine =)

  • beautiful song

  • Im sorry but i think dis version beats da beatles version

DIS GIRL and Boy CAN SING DERE ASSES OFF!!!

  • so beautifully sung

  • just to show us how many people thinks that solving violence with violence is right, to solve violence you need to have a good heart, a dedication(commitment) of influencing others by good wisdom words,as the song states, and an understanding on which we are all human beings that needs help in some point in time, that we all make mistakes but within our mistakes we can come to a realization of it and proceed with good decisions on becoming a better person. VIOLENCE NEVER HAVE A HAPPY ENDING.

  • this is the most saddening song i've ever heard. it made me cry. i wish this person could sing at my funeral

  • Best cover of a beatles song ever. Paul McCartney sings this absolutely beautifully, I heard him do it on tour, amazing.

  • Już dawno nie usłyszałem tak świetnej piosenki, po której dostałbym ciarek na całym ciele - szczególnie moment od 2:37... cudo!

  • i almost cryed when i saw the little kid in the casket

  • Honestly I thought no one could sing let it be better than the beatles and i still do, but this is the closest ive seen and its awesome

  • this is probably one of the most beautiful scenes of film i have ever seen. its like they only concentrated on this scene and the rest of the movie went to waste. but its so touching.

  • @djdan89 I completely agree.

I saw this video on Youtube and found it so powerful and moving, I went out and rented the movie. The rest of the movie doesn't even compare to this one scene.

  • @RyeLady99 I totally agree with you guys!! My daughter brought the movie over one weekend and this one scene is very moving. The rest of the movie....just about falls flat. EXCEPT when they are singing Dear Prudence...good scene also..

  • so sad

  • 2:36

I started crying so much harder.

    This is so hauntingly beautifulll

    oh lawd.

  • this part makes me cry :(

  • this part made me cry, its so beautiful and sad

  • i cried too...

  • better than the beatles

  • I agree, this one just make me shiver, it's so powerful and really makes you think...

  • the beatles did a great job with the song, but this version is just so powerful and moving.

  • Couldn't have been done without them, though. That's what makes it so beautiful.

  • I admit, it is lovely, but you can;t beat the original version. but it is very touching...

  • Holy Frig Carol Woods Voice is FRGGEN AWESOME!!!!
