  • Thank you for this video. It is well explained. I am having difficulties with spinning cotton sliver. I now see I needed to change whorls to a smaller one. I tried on a new Matchless which I'm not too familiar with yet. I'll give it a go on my SR 30 which I know a lot better. I'm going to conquer this. :)

  • the clacking is NOT normal, my bobbin is basically worn out (I tend to use one over and over and I dod a lot of spinning so the think is kaput). When the bobbin is in proper shape (I have others) the wheel runs very quietly. (This is also the 2nd set of maidens I've worn out - and the hole in the front leather is getting too big and allows for wobbling - but I haven't taken time to send it in to be replaced again. This is not jensen fault but I do a ton of spinning and I spin fast.

  • Hi. Thanks so much for sharing this video. I wanted to see it because I wanted to see how the Jensen D-30 was in action but I appreciated the tutorial on cotton spinning since I have only spun wool so far. I'm looking into possibly getting a Jensen (or maybe a Lendrum), is the Jensen always that noisy (cranky noise) with the high ratios?
