I LOVE just listening how simple life use to be with stories of his youth... we all know theyre just that 'stories'. however, I'm guessing theres quite a bit of truth in them as well
I grew up listening to Jerry Clower and I have met some of the Ledbetter family members. I still love these stories today as much as I loved them as a child.
hey, I have met this man years ago at the Expo in Georgia and I know someone that grew up in his hme town, everything that I have ever heard tells me that this was a great storyteller and comedian. God speed Mr. Clower, I hope one day to meet you in the sweet by and by.
I absolutely love Jerry clower. My grandpa had a bunch of old Jerry clower cassettes and I would listen to them whenever I could, and they were hilarious but this one is probably the best I've heard of his. Rest in peace Jerry.
I love listening to him. My father is a great storyteller just 3 years younger and grew up in Kentucky farming. I've heard Daddy tell a few of the same jokes. My boys are 19 & 14 they love listening to him as well. Jokes they can repeat at school or church.
lorrrrrrrrrrd have mercy...that is toooo tooo funny..i remember listening to this man on our front porch while swingin with momma in the swing..ohhhhhhhhh how i miss those simple days
I grew up listening to Jerry Clower's tall tales. They remind me of good ole boys around sitting around swapping stories. Each one has a bigger tale. Thanks for posting these good memories :D
Because JC was joking about southern culture and it broght back memories. Who designated you the moderator of this discussion? You probably couldn't make a round steak sandwich, "superchef". Are you commenting from your mother's basement in your dirty undershorts again?
To put it shortly, (or bluntly if one prefers) no. There is no set moderation 'team' for YouTube at the current moment, though I could hardly blame one for getting the impression at times.
i can still remember watching the grand ole opry as a child and sitting in front of the t.v. waiting for jerry to come on stage. we was poor like a lot of folks back then so sometimes mom would make a great big pan of corn bread and fried taters for dinner. i would always eat my corn bread with milk. its funny how ya remember things like that huh?? lol god bless.
Great stuff. Would love to know if you have the one about the class reunion where the "dumb" guy comes back as a rich man? It was funny how he mixed up the math and got rich. Thanks.
Get ready to laugh, lol

The way he told a story, you could close your eyes and see it unfolding in your mind. Like you were actually there!

Daddy used to take cornbread & put it in collard or turnip salad pot liquor & eat it. I didn't like it when I was little, but I like it now.

My late grandma used to serve us cornbread with milk and sugar. This was way before they put it in a box and called it Captain Crunch.
