Admittedly I'm well versed in biology, but I'm sure you also realize things like all-cures simply do not exist. What you put on your skin to treat a wound, you would not use to treat liver disease. You would not accept this anywhere else either: or would you purchase a box of which the vendor said it will automatically fix anything in your house.
Medicine is just science. I don't like big pharma either, I rather see government grants, but this is the world we live in.
The medical industries and pharmacuticals drug companies want your money so of course they are going to send you for more test and surgeries and prescribe drugs to get it from you. I go with a natural remedy it worked for the old folks and amish and it works for me.
There's a reason why we call some things medicine, and others not. Medicine is tested, proven, specific.
Your 'natural' remedy may or may not have any actual working substance, and medicine is often based on these substances, just more properly dosed (whereas natural medicine can contain random amounts).
You're just a fool if you base your life on anecdotal stories like that, they have exactly no value at all, and neither does your story. Especially not without any details.

Doctors here are not paid by pharmaceutical companies. Although I admit they often do come by with offers of holidays if certain new products are promoted. And yes, these new products are often the same old products with a sugar coating. And yes they could even work slightly better because of the placebo effect. And yes, this is downright evil.
I might be too optimistic in thinking that most doctors chose their profession to help people though. And they will provide their best 1/2
