After modelling in the France in the 60s (where Ken Russell's friend and famous photographer David Hurn met her) and the short career in television she remained in the US and has 2 children
I think that was (the ruined end of) Hampton Pier at end of clip. Main pier supposedly fell due to middle blown out in WW2 (to prevent enemy landing) thus compromising supportive structure. Then replacement bailey bridge repair was inadequate against storms. It was a matter of time till collapse (so said the experts after the storm).
Good cinematography. Must have needed a few takes to get that shot of them sailing under the pier right. Good old Ken. Pity that the financiers dumped him from the business before he made his film on Berlioz.
Really interesting to see the old footage of Herne Bay. I remember well the storms that finally finished off the old pier. The big tin shed that was built after has none of the elegance of its victorian predecessor. Years since I lived in Herne Bay so nice to see these clips, Thanks... Paul
A lyrical interlude in a fascinating, under-rated film.
Whatever happened to Alita Naughton, one of the great lost starlets of the early-/mid-60s?

I'm not surprised she modelled in France, where her gaminesque looks would have been much appreciated.
