  • and by 18 - 20 i mean celcius ;)

  • im a brit, so the best temp i seem to be getting is around 18 - 20 :/ haha

    Is this ok you reckon?

  • @jecreg Oh that's not too bad at all.

  • @CraigTube Try a heat belt if you can.

  • I really want to get into making my own beer. Would you say it's better to keep the brews cold when the fermentation process is happening? It's just I live in the UK and it's cold at the moment and the place the beer would go is going to be cold.

  • @critanime yea ha same question as this guy

  • @critanime Probably not a good idea. How cold?

  • @CraigTube about 13 degree Celsius during the winter which is 55.4 degree Fahrenheit.

  • Lagers are one of my faves :) I think I will be trying this mix for my next brew :)

  • Thanks for the enjoyable videos. I've been researching on a kit like this - most of what I found suggested Cooper's was the way to go. Believe I'll give it a whirl! Really enjoyed your videos - Thanks

  • I've not seen him really dislike a beer. something tells me this guy has a poor taste in beer. Ive brewed coopers lager and it tastes bad, then you get an even worse after taste. That's the last time i trust you craig!!

  • @HRHooChicken

The Cooper's kits have near universal acclaim online when it comes to DIY kits. If your brew tasted "bad" it may have been just shitty Cooper's products or you may have just screwed something up with your batch. I won't point the finger, but your experiences (craigtube aside) are not the norm. Not unless everyone who has tried the Cooper's kit has poor taste as well...

  • haha could tell you liked it considering how long your first "sip" was

  • Craigtube Spot on mate !, i'm a aussie and been brewing with the coopers kit's for about 10 years , my big vat i sold , while these are about there ius no need for the black arts of brewing , its about what comes out at the end .. this is quick cheap and easy ... and results are bloody excellent , cheers to ya mate !

  • Craigtube: Question for ya... I have recently taken an interest in homebrewing but I would like to start out simple so as to not overwhelm myself with all of the science and so forth.... My question is if my interest continues to grow and I eventually start formulating my own beer from raw materials, can the equipment from this homebrew kit be used in a "real" (novice) set-up?

  • Thank you for sharing these videos, Craig. I've been on the fence about home brewing for quite some time, but was always discouraged at the hunt for all of the equipment. After watching your videos, I've decided to take the plunge, so to speak. Thanks again for sharing your passion with the rest of us. Cheers!

  • Just got into this, the vids r gr8! Just a question though, I read that priming with table sugar is ok, how much is ok to use per bottle?

  • Comment removed

  • You the man Craig. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion for home brewing. It has certainly rubbed off on me. Ive been brewing for about two weeks now and I already have 3 separate batches of various concoctions in my closet. Your advise and tips have definitely helped me out. Keep it up my Ale Albino ;) jk

  • Hi Craig! Greetings, Kiaora and Talofa from New Zealand! Just wanted to post as to how much I enjoyed your videos. I've just started out in home brewing (Spirit distillation) haven't given the beer a go yet but after watching you, I've got to say I'm very keen to give a few batches a try. Awesome to see your appreciation for not only a good drink, but the satisfaction of doing it yourself. If you ever venture out our way, first few rounds are on me. Cheers buddy!

  • Just a quick one: How long did fermentation take and at what temp? The 4 days in the instructions seems a bit short. And how long did you let it sit in the bottles?

    Thanks!

  • @dutchmichigan I go with 8 to 10 days at around 72F. Bottled for at least two weeks, but you can try it any time.

  • good man craig it finaly works not like other idiots that put the videos on youtube

  • Thanks for making these home brew vids. Drinking actual "living" beer made at home is a world above drinking the store-bought, pasturized "dead" beers. The brew kits are fabulous, uncomplicated, and the results are heavenly.

  • paid advertisment or not cooper's owes you a buttload of money.

  • are you alone on camping?

    and by the road?

  • are you alone on camping?

  • Thanks for the great videos keep them coming....time to brew my own beer... Cheers!

  • Hi Craig,Nick here from Australia...I'v been brewing with Coopers for years. Not only because its Australian but because of the end result.Coopers homebrew is one of the best homebrews there is......next time try Coopers Red Ale.Cheers mate and keep on making great videos.

  • Hi, I tried the DIY kit. It was easy and fun. They have been conditioning for about 2 weeks. I opened one today just to see if it was carbonating properly. Now here is the thing. I am not really a beer drinker and I'm not sure how it is supposed to taste. The color is nice, it smells like beer, but it is bitter. Not a bad bitter, but strong bite. I was told it was because it is hoppy. Anyway, my question is, is it supposed to be bitter and will it improve with more time to sit. It was also stro

  • That beer looks soooooooooo tasty! Gonna start brewing my own beer now. Thanks for the inspiration Craig.

  • Craig,

Thanks for all of your videos. I ordered the Coopers kit. I brewed many gallons of beer back in the late 70's and late 80's, with my Father. We had 3 primary fermenters and could make 15 gallons a week. We also had about 22 cases of returnable bottles we would cycle through. His goal was to make the cheapest beer possible. We made it for about $2.00 a case back then. He passed away last year and I really miss him. I haven't brewed beer in quite a while, but I recently retired.

  • Nice one Craig, I ordered the kit and really looking forward to making a beer to share with the buds. When I was young my family used to make sloe wine and i used love the process. I love beer and I love it more after watching this

  • are you camping by yourself?

  • Craig quick question--you are a badass

  • Hey Craig, really appreciate the info provided in this series if videos. They have prompted me to get one of these kits and start brewing myself. Do you know what percentage abv this brew turned out to be? (roughly of course)

    Thanks again.

  • so start to finish how long dose it take?

  • @master32bit about two weeks minimum.

  • is it alcohol in it ?

  • these were a nice set of videos from making the lager to drinking it. I'm likely to try it myself in the future. its been a pleasure Craig, thanks!

  • hey craig

great vids. i have a coopers set. the company is here in adelaide south australia.

one of the great brewers in this country

  • Hello Craig, I have a quick question... I was considering starting home brewing with the Coopers Homebrew kit, but I don't plan on just trying extract with my brews.. would this kit need any improvement for non-extract type of ingredients?

  • CRAIG........Why do you belch every time u taste your brew....and why do you snort your brew when u smell it................. when u belch is it possibly a wee bit too much carbonation, and do u naturally carbonate or do u use co2. i love the videos and can you send me a craig tube shirt i wear an XL.

  • Thanks for posting Craig, I have taken an intrest in home brewing and Coopers is the kit that I have just about settled on, but after watching your videos I think I have made my decision. Thanks again...

  • merci beaucoup !! Craig for all the info ! started my first wine batch 2 weeks ago and your tip wher very helpfull now , after seing this video , I’m thinking beer also !

  • i realy love your vids sir! just started watching, ive bought a brew "keg"/barrel and an air lock. getting the brew kit later in week...cant wait! can i ask a stuipid question? what is the diference: beer ale stought lager. i normaly drink brown ale. as a boy my father made wines from scratch but he doesnt know about beer. thank you an keep up the good wort, sorry, work!! nick in the uk.

  • Been watching your videos on beer brewing for sometime. I am advid brewer of three years and yes I do all grain brewing as well as extract. I just want to say to each his own. If you enjoy brewing from extracts or kits then that's great :) don't let anyone hate on you for brewing the way you want. If your beer taste good and you enjoy doing it well then that's all that matters. Well Craig keep on doing what you love!

  • Wow look at the crown on that baby!! Thank you so much for your videos. I've been wanting to try the cooper's kit for a while. definately going to do this!! Awesome!

  • Craig , just wanted to say thank you. I bought My first brew kit and look forward to making more . Your videos are great and very helpfull. Again thank you . Out of gilroy, Ca

  • Thanks Craig, guess I'll need to try Cooper's Lager Kit...:)

Please keep the videos coming man.....

  • Craigtube, Greetings from Sweden! I was not aware of your existance until recently and now i have bottled 2 batches of homebrew my first which came with this kit was a lager and the other one was a real ale. Im now looking forward to try the Coopers English bitter and the Coopers Stout. Also i have a question for you =) Would you recommend me using two cans of english bitter instead of one and only supply 500 spraymalt (light dme)? Will the price be worth it in your opinion. Thanks =) // Jocke

  • @everttaube97 I would recommend that you brew each kit the way it tells you on the label, then you have something to base your results on when you start adding things and experimenting. Your idea will make better beer, but whether it's worth the extra cost is something that only you can decide. :)

  • @CraigTube thanks for your vid i have wonted to brew my own beer for some time but every thing i Sean was way to costly and to much equipment now i see that i can and am looking forward to doing it soon . thanks !!

  • CRAIG,....... why do u belch every time u taste a beer............... possibly a wee bit too much carbonation. do u naturally carbonate your brew or do you use co2.? love your videos u should send me a craig tube shirt... im a XL.

  • I like your videos and love the Cooper's kit as well!

  • Hi Graig,

I Checked your video about Cooper's micro brew kit and decided to buy it. I bought it a few weeks ago, and it's worth every penny. Thanks for a great review :)

  • Thanks for all 3 videos. Definitely going to use the sterilising method for bottling... All in the brew bin for 30 mins seems sensible!

  • Thanks for sharing. Just a quick question... whats the alcohol content of the beer? How would you test it?

    Thanks

    Ian - Ireland

  • @ianmullen It's about 5%. You use a hydrometer to determine the ABV. Check for my hydrometer video.

  • Thanks man, you seem like a fun guy. Cheers!

  • Nice mike set up Please show us your set up

  • Thanks for sharing!!! The videos were really informative and made us laugh! :)

  • Thanks for sharing!!! The videos were really informative and made us laugh! :)

  • hi craig, just a quick one. can you or anybody else for that matter, tell me while the brew is fermenting does it smell?

    cheers steve.

  • @sdepuis There is very little, if not NO odor from the process. Well, your dog might notice.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks nice! I am looking into buying a kit to make afew beers and your video's are the best I have found.

My favourite type of Ale is an I.P.A have you ever made this? That lager made my mouth water im going to have to go and find some beer now!

    thanks.

  • Thank you

  • Hi Craig. Thanks heaps for the time you have spent doing these videos, they have helped a novice like me imensely! Just wanted to say that i have just put on a Coopers pale ale with Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 (1kg). Im also bottleing in 750ml glass. I will keep you posted as to how it comes out. again thanks heaps.

All the way from New Zealand

  • Craig, did the end result of the Coopers Lager Home Brew taste similar to the retail bottled Coopers Lager? If not, what commercially made beer would you compare it to?

  • @zyx345 I've never tasted the retail Coopers lager. It's hard to compare it to commercial beer because it's not make the same way. It just tasted like a clean ale.

  • can u do a ginger beer vido thensk .

  • Ahh, camping.

    I love camping.

Every night around the campfire, I was allowed to have a beer. It was great, I liked the taste. I can't wait till I turn 21 and start brewing my own.lol

  • @Over9000Gingers I Know Im Late On The Comment But Depending On Your State You Can Homebrew Underage. Maybe You Can't Drink It Legally But You Can Buy The Products Yourself And Brew It Too. Thats What The Founder Of Sierra Nevada Did In 8th Grade.

  • hey craig, i just received a brew kit from my grandfather and it contained a tin of malt extract that has a best befor date 15/12/08. would it still be ok to make a batch with or should i go get a new tin ? thanks SAM

  • @SAM726835 I would get a new tin. The old one wont hurt you, but it might not taste great. Brew it later on between good batches.

  • Yep, Cooper's does make a good product. You "CAN" make good beer with Coopers's. No, excellent beer.!!

  • Craig, great series. You got me hooked on making my own home brew after watching the first brewing vid you posted several years ago, Actually I just finished a batch today. It's a great hobby. And the rewards are endless.

  • Thank you!!! One of the most interesting and detailed vids{series}. keep up the great work. Subscribe to CraigTube!!!!!

  • I used to do the powder malt extract brews with some grains, just had to hop it myself. With a wife, two kids, and more work than ever, i am glad to know that decent beer can come from a kit. I promise I will brew again before the end of summer!!!!

  • After finishing this series do you still use the Coopers Fermenter and Airlock? i dont recall you using it in any other videos. Just wanted your opinion on the quality of it compared to say your usual wine barrel's?

  • @guerd87 Yes, I do still use the fermenter and bottles. The airlock is bubbling away right now, and the hydrometer is killer. I think I used the fermenter in one of my stout videos. There have been no problems with it. Because it's a screw top, I recommend using a food safe lube around the O ring. I do that anyway with all my fermenters because it's good for the rubber. I am preparing to do several batches, and I will be using that fermenter.

  • thanks for these video's. i brought one of these kits after watching your vid's on them and i have had my first coopers larger tonight and it was great. and thankyou for your advice about air locks, it helped me solve a few problems. keep up the good work!

  • @matsubara97 You can't smell anything unless you put your nose right up to the airlock. It won't stink up your house. :)

  • I want to go out and buy a kit now!! Great videos Craig!

  • Excellent series Craig. Thorougly enjoyed your videos and it was cool to see how your editing and camera work improved along the way. I believe I will try one of those Cooper`s kits.....the look on your face when you tried that batch while camping...that cant be faked lol. It obviously an acceptable brew. Cheers from Vancouver Island :)

  • Very informative videos. Drinking coopers now :) I'm thinking your from America , is Australian beer popular over there? Keep up the great work mate!

  • hi crag watched all yer vids and brill i just started making beers with coopers kits as new to me as i have always made moonshine/ i made a lager kit and its loveley i have got a dark ale on the go now ready on tuesday/ what i wanna no is whats the shelf life on my beer when bottled .

  • Probably 6 months to a year.

  • @CraigTube cool thanx craig

  • Thanks for the videos! I watched all of them and I'm excited to start my own projects.

  • I had an old Kerosene Lantern growing up, I found it recently when I cleaned out the shed. Still works well. :-)

  • Thanks man great video watched all three and got me siked about starting my micro brewing. Thanks for the step by step sure made the whole process seem alot easier than I thought it would.

  • good vids Craig i got a kit and started it yesterday. Its not a coopers but i think it will work.Cant wait to take my beer camping this summer. Were were you camping??

  • We went to Pinhurst lake in Ontario where I live. Man, the beer tasted good out there LOL.

  • Craig i have been brewing beer for many years also and use the coopers kits too, and just like you i take alot of heat form the so called beer experts about using the malt extract instead of grains. My beer always turns out fantastic and it is pretty cheap to make also. I am sure homebrew made from grains is great too but i dont see any reason for myself to switch when its so easy to make and with less time and less mess than grains. Keep up the great work craig and keep the beer vids comming.

  • Thank you! Ya, the beer snobs just can't leave us alone. I don't even go into the brewing forums because I'm sure there's a pile of crap in there about us, maybe even ME in particular LOL. Ah, maybe it would be fun to read what they're saying. I'm not easily offended and have so much support here on YT. Let'em talk LOL. Cheers! :)

  • What is the best Coopers kit you have had?

  • Stout.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd say the Stout, but you should start with a Lager.

  • my friend makes beer with malt ex and your right its great

  • I have the coopers brewing kit and it works fine for me. As for the two clowns that had no idea what they were doing and said you were paid. They need to learn how to brew first and do a little less crying. It was so very sad to watch them complain about every single step of the process. And i mean every single step.

  • I know. I've watched most of his videos. I wish he would stop blaming me for his shortcomings. I never did anythng to him and was only trying to help people by buying the Coopers kit and demoing it. His came broken, why didn't he send it back or call them instead of taking it out on me.

  • Craig, have you made a video of the brew where u used 2 Coopers Draughts can in the mix ???

  • I think it's called easy home brewing second edition.

  • Thank you Craig, your videos are very motivating. I have been wanting to make my own for many years now.

  • Hey Craig,

I messaged you yesteday asking a few questions in witch you kindly replied but I was looking online and saw a few people

complaining of a cidery tasting beer. I heard things from not proper aging to bad extract. Did you ever expierence this? If so can you explain. If not do you have an opinion?

  • I had poor tasting beer when I fermented it at too high a temperature. Other than that, I can't offer much help without knowing the procedures used.

  • Curious.. Is adding more sugar make it have a higher alcohol content

  • Yes, but be careful you don't add too much. You'll ruin your head (and not the one on your shoulders, although that's up for debate LOL)

  • awesome craig 5 stars

  • Damn! I accidently hit the send button lol. Anyway, I'm planning on putting one if these kits on my Xmas list and I was wondering if you had tried any of the other coopers home brews. I know if comes with the lager but I was curious to know what else you thought was good.

    Thanks

  • I've had great results from the Irish Stout, even without the recommend dry malt extract. I haven't really had any bad brews, outside of human error. Try to brew at lower temperatures, like low 70s. Don't over do the dextrose. The rest is up to your taste.

  • Hey Craig,

  • whats the alcohol level?

  • hahaha "that's normal"

  • you are so cool and you have convinced me it is a good kit

  • 3:28 Paranormal Activity. Great Video!

  • funny cfh!

  • ok craig did my first batch of coopers pail ale and... its awsome !!!realy good better than the pail ale from the store !!!i used 50/ 50 corn suger and dry malt. i got 54 12ounce bottles out of it . towards the end i ran out of priming suger . so i used brown suger 1/2 tsp . you know what it made it even better !! thanks for your great vids if it wasnt for you id be drinkin crappy store beer lol.second batch brewin now!!

  • Hey Craig, huge fan of the videos, your homebrew tutorials have inspired me to order my first kit.

Just wondering when and if you're going to finally break down and post a video of doing an all grain brew as opposed to an extract brew.

I think it'd be an awesome addition to your page.

  • I don't really plan on doing an all grain because I don't have a big enough pot, proper thermometer, and have no easy access to the bags, grains and hops. If I had all that stuff, I would certainly give it a try.

  • certainly sounds like it'd be a bit of a project for ya, but think it'd be cool to see your take on that type of brew.

Ah well, theres always tomorrow :)

  • alls good bubbling away

  • well i got my kit today but i think i may have messed it up i think the water was too warm when i pitched the yeast well i guess ill find out in 12 hrs

  • awsome cant wait !!!

  • ok craig all i can say wow not only can you make beer .but can cook and sing and play insterments!! thats admazing !! great voice! i would love to here you sing candle in the wind by elton john that would be the best!! oh yha beer kit on the way thanks craig for the great vids !!

  • Thank you very much. Candle in the wind is a great song. I'll give it a go soon, just for you. Cheers.

  • hi craig i wached all your vids love them ! im thinking of getting the kit you showed . but was wondering if id be better geting a bucket kit what do you think ?i plan on making a lot of beer i just want your input on this thanks

  • what did the alcohol content end up being? how much extra sugar could you add to increase the alcohol without ruining the taste?

  • You think can keg Coopers?

  • Of course. That would be awesome.

  • Had some friends over last night to taste my Lager. This kit was the first time I've tasted a Lager, I really like it, however, my friends were 50/50. One described a flowery after taste, the other a bitter. After you swallow, there is a taste I"m not sure how to describe, it is not bad, may just be the way a Lager tastes.

  • That's normal. Most people who drink shitty store bought beer arn't used to the flavor of a real beer. I drink 99% home brew, and when I drink a store bought, it's kinda yuk. Tastes like it was made in a lab or something. Your friends expect that from a beer, and are used to it. The ones who drink good beer probably are the ones who liked yours the most LOL.

  • The flowery after taste would probably be the flavouring hops (and maybe some esters too), and the bitterness is the amount of bittering hops used; ( Btw, this isn't really a lager because it comes with an ALE yeast.) this beer is 21 IBUs(International bittering units) which is high for a lager, most commercial swill is probably 9 IBUs. If you want to make swillish-like beer for your friends, I recommend Morgan's Canadian Light. It is very low in bitterness and hop flavour.

  • thanks for sharing the experience with us!

  • Your video's have made home brewing not seem so daunting, but before i start i really wanted to know if the beer taste would be effected if it was glass bottled or plastic..? or will it taste the same

  • I would say it tastes the same in either. I've used both.

  • Today was day 14 of my Coopers Lager being in the bottles. I placed one in the fridge about 3hours ago and am now enjoying it. Take Off Eh! this stuff is awesome! Thanks Craig! I probably won't go back to the old days of whole grain brewing, why do I need to. :)

  • Awesome!! Cheers.

  • hey i was just wondering how long to you leave your beer before you started to drink it

i've just read that if u leave them longer they taste better and im not sure if thats true?

  • I recommend 2 weeks. They'll taste great!

  • Hi Craig is there any chance you could do a video using one of the Coopers International series like the Mexican Cerveza or a Brewmaster series such as the Pilsener as i believe they are slightly more complicated. I have never brewed before but would like to start but would like to make the Mexican Cerveza.

  • Unfortunately, my local supplier only carries the regular Cooper's series. I don't have easy access to the others.

  • Hey Craig! My Coopers Lager will be at 14days Wednesday night! Like you, we love camping and I want to bring it with me this weekend. Can you tell me if you refrigerate your beers before drinking them, or keep them at room temp and use glasses put in a freezer, or neither? Cheers!!

  • I like to chill them but I'm usually too lazy. When we went camping, there was no room in the coolers so I didn't bother. One thing tho, when you transport the beers, make sure they don't fall over in the car, and if they're a bit cloudy when you get there, don't worry, they'll clear again. Mine were all fine. Cheers.

  • My Coopers lager had been in the bottle for 5 days. Opened one up to see how it is coming; all I can say is, wow. I am quite impressed with this one and will probably brew Cooper's Lager from now on. Brewed with Munton's beer kit enhancer (500g Dextrose, 500g light dry malt) and kit yeast, temp 21c.

  • hey Craig, lover your videos. it was because of you, 2 years ago, i started home brewing myself. so i thought it was only fair that i shared some brewing knowledge of my own. if u thought that, that lager tasted "delicious" then u should brew a batch with "Coopers brew enhancer 2" its part dextrose, part maltodextrin and part dry malt extract... there are also other ones you could use as well, the names of them would b on the side of your "brewing sugar" an good luck with your next brew.

  • I'm just trying my first pint of the same stuff. I'm very impressed with myself, and thanks for the info along the way. Its good stuff man, bit like fosters, but dare i say nicer. And stronger.

  • Just took a sample last night after 5 days of ferminting at 27 deg c. All I can say is the beer tast great. A few words about it would be fresh and quality. This is my first ever brew and I owe all of the so far good results to Craig for inspiaring me to start with a coopers kit.

    Thanks Craig

    Mike from Houston Texas

  • Awesome!

  • Oh, one more thing....Thank you!

  • No prob.

  • I am a new subscriber, I love the videos and the info you have so selfishly decided to share with us. I ordered my Coopers Kit last night. So excited I got the three day shipping. One question, after bottling, when do you suggest refrigeration, can u store it unregrigerated for a period of time?

  • I usually store mine a room temp and either drink it like that or chill it before I drink.

  • you should pull out the irish accent more often! lol, i laughed so hard!

keep up the great videos! I just started my first batch today, and your videos really helped out! im using coopers dark ale!

  • And Thank you Mate, as they say here Good on Ya !!!

  • Good on ya too, and enjoy your grog.

  • Craig

Just go my coopers beer kit in yesterday. An fermintation is under way

  • Craig, I think you finally convinced me to give Cooper's a try! I've alway made Morgan's and Munton's kits, Morgan's Canadian Light being the best, Munton's Blond beer a close second.

  • Thanks Craig for getting me startet again on brewing my own beer! Really great videos you have made. Keep them coming :-)

  • Thanks for these Coopers videos. I just received mine Friday and knocked out a batch. It's currently bubbling away like mad and the smells coming out of the airlock are awesome!

I appreciate your "simple" approach and it has inspired me to take up homebrewing again after a 15 year absence. Back then, the hour long boils, the two stage fermenting and all that handling greatly increased the chances of infection. After two ugly-butt brews, I gave it up.

    Looks like I'm Back!!!

  • I can't buy any wine-making stuff.

In KSA, Saudi Arabia, it's prohibited to brew , drink , talk about it or think about it.

So, I'm using whatever I can find in my yard to brew beer and wine. I made every thing from nothing.

My airlock is an art-of-the-state junk .

I used a melted pen with air-fresher lid.

If I can have this cooper things ...

    thnx 4 sharing info Craig.

  • Thanks for the all the videos Craig. I just bought a Coopers Micro Brew kit because of them and waiting for the shipment. On behalf of everyone, thanks for the time you've put in this. My first homebrew will be dedicated to you ! :)

    Cheers from Quebec, Canada !

  • Awesome. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. Curious, where did you get the micro brew kit? I didn't think they shipped to Canada normally. I had to call makebeer . net and place a special order.

  • what does it taste like? is it any better than budweiser?

  • Well I don't drink Bud, but mine is probably better. Of course if you're a fan of Bud, you may disagree.

  • ok, just wondering. it's kind of strange for a beer lover that you never tried bud.

  • Oh, I've had it, but beer prices here have forced me to buy cheep beer, and I believe that the Bud here is different than in the U.S. Here, we're more akin to beers made here, like those from Molson and Labatt, and the local brewery in my city, Lakeport, which is the cheep beer I have bought. Your Bud is very light and watery compared to our brands. I can polish a 6 in an hour and feel little. I've been drinking home brew for over 20 years, and have rarely ventured out into commercial brands.

  • I,ve only ever done a lager once from a kit and it was fine but wasnt in the same league as the bitters and stouts i do, at the moment i have a barley wine on the go which i am looking forward to. But i have to admit i am a home brewing stout lover.

  • Funny that you mention only you've only done ales and drafts. My dad tells the story of when he was growing up in northern ontario (sudbury/kirkland lake and that area.) All they ever had was ales.. that was the only option back in those days (middle fifties) and then he moved down to Toronto with his brother and tasted their first lager...

  • Well, that's my opinion as well. Personally, I don't really know what a lager should taste like, so I have one in the freezer right now that I picked up yesterday. Right now, I'm drinking a Cooper's English Bitter, and It's so good, it's making my eyes roll back in my head.
