That's kind of cool... didn't know Peter Buck was friends with them. Also didn't realize Josh was still playing with them after he started Queens... this is just two weeks before their first album came out.

@LBIsurf90 Peter Buck and Barrett Martin were in a 'world music' side project band together. Buck also produced one or both sessions for the 1998/1999 demos the Trees did.

@TheLadyKatey And I think Barrett Martin took part in the recording of R.E.M.'s album Up in 1998.

@LBIsurf90 - yep. The trees first few releases were done exclusively with Steve Fisk behind the recording desk, as he went on to do many records with REM as well. That probably how they were introduced. And i'm sure the Trees were big fans of REM to begin with.
