  • I wish someone would collage this with "Into the Raging River" so that the best part keeps coming out :P

  • I adore this soundtrack

  • Allright you're alian arseholes! I"m BACK!!!!!!''

    Great Movie, Great Soundtrack!!!

  • The City of Prague Orchestra has a good version of this suite.

  • Welcome to Earth!

  • Damn. That... gave.... me.... chills! Mr. Arnold, you have a REMARKABLE musical style!

  • I can't wait for ID4-Ever

  • "Now that's what I call a close encounter!"

  • What? you think we'll get to Washington and it won't be there?

    .....

  • I don't care about how much american patriotic bullshit this film shows.

In the end, the world was saved by a black guy, a jew and drunken bum.

  • @chakaling

    And Lone Starr.

  • DAVID!! WHY'D I SEND MY MOTHER TO ATLANTA??

  • This is the day when the world declares proudly with once voice that we will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight. We're going to live on; we're going to survive; TODAY, WE CELEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY!

If only real leaders could be this inspiring. I would follow so many of the leaders Hollywood produces - Morgan freeman in Deep Impact; Michael Douglas in the American President; Bill Pullman in Independence day. The leaders we deserve but so seldom get.

  • As our good Reverend would say: "Wa' we a' all on this mishun I will nevuh kno'. But. I do kno' dat da Black Knights will emerge victorious once again".

    Amen Reverend.

  • Didn't I promise you fireworks?

  • "Welcome to Earth!!"

  • Love it

  • Great score and movie but why did they have to put Wil Smith in it. Oh right, the black demographs.

  • happy ID4 guys, by far on the best films of the 90's

  • Happy Fourth of July at the Anime Expo 2011 ^^

  • HAPPY 4TH OF JULY YOUTUBERS!!!!!!!

  • @KeeharsTourettes the only award it got at the oscars though as I recall was for sound effects, it should have been nominated for picture of the year and will smith should have won best supporting actor.

  • i'm watching it right now on cinemax east. one of the greatest most underapreciated films of all time; and ironically the only film made by Roland Emmerich that's actually good.

  • @ronin6401 I might add The Patriot and Stargate to RE films that are actually good..

  • I don't know why, but the sequence from 1:45 to 2:31 reminds me of Northern California and looking at all its landscapes and vistas.

  • One of the most EPIC themes in the history of film scores, from one of the greatest movies of all time!

  • @HumanDaikon - "One of the most EPIC themes in the history of film scores" Well, it would be. The guy who wrote it's British ^_^

  • @MrDavidHarrison Why, good afternoon, good sir! ;)

  • @glagolitic - Hello there! Great, now I'm gonna have you looking over my shoulder every time I make a comment on this site... :-P Still, I'm sure I'll not say anything as bad on here as that question I once asked on the TG forums! ;-D

  • Whenever I listen to this song I get chills. That's how awesome it is. It may be underrated, but I consider it to be one of the greatest movies of the 90's.

  • @MrMIMISEKU I consider it to be one of the greatest movies of all time. One of my favourites.

  • @MrMIMISEKU It is one of the best movies of the 90's!

  • @MrMIMISEKU

Greatest? Hardly...Most fun? Absolutly! I can watch this over and over.

  • i agree. movies like this and Godzila from 1998 are some of the best, yet morons don't know that.

  • Parts like 0:00 - 0:39 and 8:12 - 8:32 should have been and definitely should be used as trailer music to some films.

  • Parts like 0:00 - 00

  • One of the most stirring pieces of music I remember from years gone by.

  • Sounds like Falcon Crest Though.

  • i remember the yankees won the 1996 world series with this song, the beginning of the song from 0:00 to 0:39...still remembered it but it took years to find this...thank you.

  • @richie137 I still think that's one of the most brilliant calls as far as what music to play at home for your team when they win a championship. The movie came out the same year they won so it was cutting-edge-current too. I wonder if Steinbrenner wanted that or who thought to play that but it was perfect and I still tear up when I see clips of that final out from 96 and that song playing is partially why.

  • Good stuff.
