  • The lyricism of the solo at the end is just melting. And the choir's blend and warm tone are beautiful!! Thank you for posting!

  • Well, friends, I am singing on this recording of The Road Home. I am in my twelfth season with Conspirare. I have been a professional singer for over 25 years and have yet to match the experience that singing with Conspirare brings. The soloist on this recording, Melissa Givens, is an amazing musician and and amazing person. To the person who said her singing was "grandious bullshit", I have one retort: Opinions and assholes....everyone's got one.

  • @tracyjacobshirk Couldn't agree with you more. Haven't found a recording that approaches this one. Congrats, and keep up the terrific work your ensemble does day in and day out!

  • Well. TBH. The chorus is very dark already. Right from the start Im like this a heavy chorus. Her voice comes in and I die. Its beautiful

  • @epandaman13 you mean the part where he said it would have been better if the lady "hadnt PIPED up with her GRANDIOSE BULLSHIT."? I guess that was a nice way to put it. Im sure there are far better ways to voice an opinion. If it would have been tasteful that would be understandable.... wow. I thought I was going to come back in here and read a comment that I might have over reacted to. But I still stand firm. Calling someones interpretation "Grandiose Bullshit" is by no way shape or form nice!

  • @js59695 I was talking about the other one.....I didn't see his bullshit one. My bad

  • just stunningly gorgeous

  • Incredible. I'm tearing up.

  • We sang this song in choir, it was the last song we got to sing with Jordan Michael Ressler..the day we came back to school and he wasn't with us, we sang this in honor to him. I miss you forever, and I love you more than words will ever comprehend. I know you're home now. <3

  • During the summer, I was in a youth choir that traveled to Europe for 3 weeks. This was in our lineup, and it was my personal favorite. Every time our soloist sang, it brought tears to the audience's eyes. Now whenever I hear or sing this, I can imagine myself with the choir again, singing in a beautiful church, or standing on a mountain in France with our voices reverberating off the stony walls. I will never forget my time in Europe.

  • @Aresolar690, It is a solo with the rest of the choir singing kind of as backup. I admit, someone one with a lighter tone would have been better.. but yet, still a very beautiful piece.

  • So...the song is boring. But, when the soloist let's it out....it's absolutely gorgeous.

  • @THSChoir

    Agreed!

  • Goosebumps through the whole song, especially at the end when that awesome soprano kicks it in high gear...Absolutely amazing...

  • Oh my God, this is so beautiful, almost got me to tears, I know about this kind of music, but never actually took a good amount of time to listen to it MORE OFTEN, this is so awesome.

  • Thanks for the inappropriate language in your comment. I'm using this recording as an example for my church choir and I'm sure they can't wait to read your opinion.

  • @PorterfieldMusic You're quite welcome.

  • TROOP

  • This song is going to play at the senior graduation.

  • They blend so perfectly!

  • gonna sing tht 4 seniors graduation this year, hope i dont start bawling lol. beautiful song <3

  • @BlackTsukiDarkAkai13 do you go to Freedom?

  • TROOP!

  • Hands down, the most beautiful choral tune both in terms of the sound answer the lyrics.....simply stunning:) music like this makes me so happy to be in this life:)

  • @Criptix69 Go look at Sleep by Eric Whitacre if you already have not. that one made me cry it was so beautiful.

  • @Criptix69 you should look at all of conspirare's recordings if you like their sound

  • We're singing this as a tribute to our seniors this year.

I know I'm going to cry.

  • I sang this my senior year in concert choir as knew of the top ensembles in the state! Simply breathtaking...just listen to those lyrics "there is no such beauty as were you belong" absolutely gorgeous. Brings a tear everytime

  • wow.........this is why i sing, to have this feeling over and over again.

  • I don't even know what to say

I've been listening to it non stop for the whole night

  • The Oos are so perfect, so beautifully written, and so well sung. I could just listen to those measures again and again and cry every time.

  • I sang this in my choir during high school every Friday. Now that I'm in college, I miss it dearly. But the message is the same.

  • @ghostxxxrebirth Same here at my highschool. I did choir for one year and regret not doing it longer. We did it every friday as well. =)

  • We sing this song every Friday in my high school choir as a "send-off" to the weekend. This is going to be the number 1 thing I miss in high-school...

  • @Joeturtle My class at my high school we are singing this as a "send-off" to the seniors as they go out into the world to live their own individual lives.

  • @Joeturtle we do that at the end of the year concert to send off the seniors

  • their blend is incredible.

  • amazing,

  • this is a beautiful piece, i don't like the soloist however.... her voice lacks emotion.

  • @VeroniquePerin

I have to totally disagree. I think the soloist has a rich timbre that adds so much to this piece.

  • A truly stunning work.

  • This piece changed my life when I sang it in college 6 years ago. True story.

  • can anyone post the lyrics?

  • @Tan1723 Someone did

  • @Varjele

Thanks so much for posting this recording! It is one of my all time favorites! I would like to point out that the name of the choir is Conspirare, not Conspire. I don't want to be a nuisance, but I wish this recording would come up in a search for "Conspirare".

    Thanks again! :o)

  • sound like something from the lord of the rings.. but great song btw

  • Gooooosebumps.

  • this song never fails to choke me up

  • @TamashiiKitara123 me too. the varsity choir sang it at my graduation ceremony and i struggled to keep my composure in the first row

  • This recording of The Road Home is gorgeous! The balance, the dynamics - everything! I love it! I was in the SD All-State Chorus and we sang this is 2008. It was amazing :)
