White and Gold is the older of the two. it was first sung by Tech cheerleaders who were cheering for the Auburn team against Georgia (thats how much we hate UGA, even then!)The lyrics for Ramblin Wreck were created from bits and pieces of folk songs from around the country and modified to fit GT. It was sung roughly to the tune of "Son of a Gambolier" which, as BandoNintendo stated, was an old Irish drinking song. The result: the greatest fight song ever!
The tune to Ramblin' Wreck is an old Irish drinking song, then it became a confederate battle song. Its not original, just like most other college fight songs.
Ramblin' Wreck and White and Gold are BOTH official fight songs.

I wouldnt be surprised if we did the opposite with White and Gold, took the song and made our own lyrics
