I know somebody who tried to pass off a diesel Nissan Micra as one of these Super Turbo's, for one it had a mica badge, 2 it had a diesel engine, five doors, a fake turbo valve in the exhaust to make it sound turbo charged, oh yeah and a shitty bodykit. England has lost its taste in cheap motoring

The Lancia Delta Integrale had a turbo and supercharger too. The supercharger cuts out when the turbo has spooled up so there is no turbo lag. I guess the Nissan does the same thing. So the Europeans had these about the same time.

Wow, people should stop knocking this car. It's not all about HP/KW. It's about power to weight ratio. I had a 90 hatchback Civic that only made 68kw of power, but because it was so light, it was actually pretty damn fun to drive.

I had one of these, so gutted i sold it, Mine had a Digital Display Dash, Air Con, Electric Windows and Electric Side View Mirrors, and it was Auto, so rare, really gutted i sold it, i have pictures though, might put them up. Nice Video

I only found out they made a twincharged mk1 micra about half an hour ago, and only just dared to google it. It's an insane idea to build a car like this, but I've got one better: wedge the bypass valve shut so that both the turbo and supercharger provide boost at the same time.

supercharged and turbo charged. such fantastic engineering that manufacturers can't be bothered with these days.

I think this era (give or take 9 years) of Japanese cars (esp the imports) were so far ahead of their competition. amazing value for money, esp when u compare them with other cars of the era - actually, compared with todays cars, they are still have the same if not more features.

@thelegion69 its all about displacement and to a lesser degree engineering. if you listened closely you would have heard the car is 930cc. Your lancer is probably the 2000cc, at a guess. Turbo/supercharged doesnt matter, and as a reference for every 14psi of boost you can double the engine size for a comparision to a none turbo car.
