  • bro ur just jealous u aint maori eah get over it

  • Onya Hone.....You're fill of shit !

  • Hone Harawira is a bloody twit.

    Remove him from parliament.

  • hahaha omg this is a joke, whatabout the rights of New Zealand european people whatabout everyone else that lives in new zealand!!!! Maoris are soo over represented its ridiculous, they make up about 8% of the population, they think the whole country revolves around them. people need to wake up. if were not careful nz will become like south africa.

  • nz euros have full control of nz. they control the law making, trade, revenue, resources, foreshore, seabed, prisons, foreign relations, schools, hospitals, army, taxes. these are all pakeha nz rights. get your facts right. there are more than 8% maori. and nz IS like south africa. same thoughts towards natives browns, same english accent, same foundations built on invasion and theft of native resources. nz is built on lies and and a foundation of land/resourse grabbing, killings and murders

  • to even attempt to compare nz to south africa is quite sad really. they had an entire law dedicated to discriminating blacks new zealand have a pretty good record in terms of race relations id have to say. and yes maori do represent 8% of the population of new zealand.

  • "More than one in seven people (14.6 percent) usually living in New Zealand in 2006 belonged to the Māori ethnic group" nz stzts.

listen to the sa accent, tells u alot

  • The Maoris are benefiting from the sea's resources and have equal access to the foreshore like everyone else. They want exclusive access and ownership at the expense of all other New Zealanders. They're not indigenous and that their ancestors arrived on an earlier boat gives them no special priviliges.

  • silly comment. your obviously a silly person who shouldn't be taken seriously.

  • the associate minister spoke well

which was nice but ment nothin coz he aint the Minister.,

Rahui Katene spoke terribly but she had a great point,

Hone will take evri chance to highlight his Take,

    Tu Meke

  • Is that what you call a joke? pathetic.

get a life you fucking loser.

  • How long does the Pakeha Government have tp demonstrate to you Dontfballs?

The governemnt are going to review the foreshoe and seabed act, even they accept that Maori land has been STOLEN,and /or ILLEGALLY purchased.

your very slow in accepting this fact.

I suggest you get with it and come back and pay your share of taxes, and stop whinging and crying about it.

  • well the polulus is sick of it. You can tell the minister thinks maori are taking hte piss by listening to his voice. Just watch him - hes obviouisly annoyed at the bullshit line of questioning.

We have had enough and the sooner this shit is sorted out the better.

  • This is just my opinion on Hone's representation of Maori btw - most Maori wont agree with me on this one.

  • fucken Maoris - im so sick of them.

  • There are no Maori left.

Only white people with Maori blood.

If some one is 20% Korean blood does that mean there Korean?

  • My parents are Maori

    My grandparents are Maori

    My great grandparents are Maori

So what does that make me genius?

Maori being extinct is a myth - we exist - deal with it

  • Maaate ya dreamin'

The last REAL Maori died in approximately 1969.

You know you're a mongrel Rose - deal with it.

  • Wrong. REAL Maori still exist. I know because i see them everyday. It takes more than DNA to be Maori hacksaw. Thats just a poor excuse in an attempt to belittle our existance by questioning whether or not we truely exist.

  • I could call myself Maori as well Rose, it wouldn't make it anymore true.

  • It wouldnt make it anymore true hacksaw purely because it isnt true at all.

I am Maori - end of story. And there is nothing you or anyone else can say to convince me otherwise.

  • I agree, if you identify with the culture then that is all that matters, ethnicity is irrelevant. What i don't understand is the need for more or less rights than others.

  • Its not about MORE rights than any other NZer - its about recognizing the rights of Tangata Whenua, thats all.

  • So tell me what rights you dont have now? Rememeber most of the land was SOLD Rose, you cant mourn the lose of SOLD items.

  • what land are you talking about george? not mine obviously

  • Yours got sold too Rose - deal with it. You got a 1st orld democracy to live in as payment.

  • If it got sold then why do my people still own it???

And if all "sold" land was legitimately purchased then why has a lot of it been given back and/or compensated for because the Courts ruled that it was acquired by the Crown illegitimately???

Guess what me & my whanau did last week george, we put in a Treaty Claim to get one of our islands just off the harbour of Kerikeri back. Lawyers said its a clear cut case - we're getting it back for sure. Developers didnt like that much.

  • because the govt is scared of you flag waving utus. Nothing more.

Appeasement doesnt work. The sooner NZ govts realise this the better.

How could you have put a claim in last week when the deadline was last year?

    Me thinks thats bullshit.

  • No i think its because they recoginze what they did was...umm...bullshit.

Appease? Maybe. But you're sort of right - you cant appease us.

The deadline was only for "historical" claims, get it right.

I wouldnt lie to you george, i have no reason to.

  • this the fukn problem with this country. why dont i go in and make sum bullshit claim. if your maori u get anything and everything for nuthng. just for sitting on your ass.

  • Really? Like what? Im Maori and i get nothing for the price of everything.

  • "it takes more than DNA to be a Maori" - Yeah you have to be a whinging crybaby too.

  • Theres nothing wrong with mourning over something you've lost george

  • having grandparents that are maori, doesnt mean they were full blooded. The last maori elder that was full blooded died in the 80s. My mates a maori, hes almost as white as me. Hes european with a bit of maori in him.

  • How would you know my whakapapa? And my grandparents were born before the 80s Einstein. Anyway, it takes more than DNA % to be Maori and skin colouring is irrelevant. I am Maori because I have a Maori heritage which ties me to my numerous hapu by many generations of geneology - just to name a few points. I think your attempt to denounce Maori existance is ridiculously ignorant.

  • If a Fijian and an Indian get together, they are called a Fijian Indian, if a European and Asian get together the baby is called a Euroasian. When a White and Maori get to gether there baby is a Maori. Call yourself what ever you like.

What I see is part Maori people angry about white people taking there land, umm didnt there white ancestors take it from there Maori Ancestors in most cases

  • "When a White and Maori get together there baby is a Maori" - Ummm yeah, what else would it be?

As for your second point - NO - thats not what happened in most cases. It is much more complex than that.

  • It should be identified as biracial, mixed or coloured, or in a more un-pc context - mongrel :P

  • People should have the right to call themselves what they are. I dont tell you what you are - what gives you the right to tell me who i am?

  • lol I thought you considered us European imports? "Pakeha" (foreigners) as it were? No doubt many of European extraction have embraced the name even though they never bothered to learn the definition, but surely it is the same.

Question: How much (in your view) Maori blood does one need to be Maori?

  • well no i call you imports because thats what happened - you were imported here with the sole purpose of occupation. Anyway thats different, we're talking about identities. "Pakeha" i dont think is offensive and neither is it a race.

If you can affiliate to a hapu then you're Maori - blood i think is irrelevant because its more than just blood. If a person whose grandfather only was Maori and they said to me they are Maori, then Id accept that, without question.

  • We weren't "imported", we came here by our own accord. "Pakeha" is offensive. Why the fuck would anyone consider themselves a foreigner in their country of birth? NZ nationals of non-Maori descent have just as much right to live here.

That's interesting. So you would support Russell Crowe making a treaty claim? lol As long as they acknowledge their non-Maori relatives as well, I don't care.

  • No you were sent here to occupy - occupation of space and gradual increase of population is what wins colonization.

Why is "Pakeha" offensive to you? And i never said you have no right to live here and/or that a non-maori born & raised here should consider themselves a foreigner - actually i said the opposite - "people should have the right to call themselves what they are"

  • Exported to NZ would be more accurate no?

Well despite not wanting to be given some Maori label, it supposedly means foreigner. Foreigners generally aren't given the same respect as a national.

  • hacksaw *sigh* go to bed, you're obviously just wanting a fight for the hell of it. but first - pakeha doesnt mean foreigner & if anyone treats them badly its you lot. imported/exported, the point is you're not native to this land. fear, not wanting to or dont care - for whatever reason they dont, but hone does, and thats the reason he was put in that position in the first place.

  • Just seen your comment about Hone Harawira "condoning" the actions of his nephews "attacking" the PM at Waitangi on the Licence video - well thats not what he said. He said he "supports" them (because they're still his whanau) but not necessarily "condones" what they did. Even though privately he most probably does lol. I was there and honestly it wasnt as bad as the media made out anyway.

  • In a way he was condoning it. He should be acknowledging what they did wrong and tell the public that it is not acceptable to behave in this way, considering he is in a party that claims to represent Maori. He should be urging them to apologise even though the PM hasn't asked for one. Common courtesy ffs. I saw the video, they attacked the PM and violated his personal space. They grabbed him and would not let go and they will be charged for it.

  • Hone represents Maori in a way that most other Maori are afraid to - by not lying. People have to remember that this is an activist - hes done the same stuff on the same front, so to suddenly speak out agaisnt a) his own whanau b) fellow activists and c) the same kaupapa he supports - would not only be a lie, but suicide on his character and self belief. Hes from the north ffs, we just cut it how it is up here, we're not charmers like other southern & eastern Maori.

  • Maybe you're confusing afraid to with just not wanting to or don't care?

  • excellent point Keith. Type "Maori drivers licence" into you tube then come over and play with us.

  • just cant help yourself can you Rose?

Even the politicians think you are a joke.
