good vid... can you have the gauges at the bottom of the screen in this view? Also the collision netcode does appear to need a little work... but it is prolly due to the high number of cars and smooth online gameplay otherwise... gotta sacrifice somewhere.

Yeah, the gauges can appear in any view while racing. The video was exported using the built-in replay so that's why there aren't gauges of any kind in any of the videos I put up from it.

what's with the cars not running into each other??? they just drive right through like they are not even there. I've seen this on a number of videos as well. Is that actually part of the game? Is it a glitch where you can't really hit them all the time??

In the video above, the guys getting hit are getting hit. There are cases where it looks like you should have hit the guy but come away with no damage. I doesn't happen all the time, but yeah, it does happen. Then again, it happens with any online racing game, it's the game code and the various different latencies not being able to synch up in time with all the action that's going on, so it has to pick and choose.

what are you talking about? its about impossible to spin out in this game unless you really screw up the car. 2k3 takes skill and this game is just drive it in corner slam on brakes turn hard left get back in gas. 2k3 much more demanding.

If you slam on the breaks and turn hard left, your right front is going to wave byebye in about 15 laps, and the guys that are conserving their tires will drive right by you. So either you haven't driven it enough to get an understanding of it, or you're running really short races.

time will tell but most of the guys i talk to are heading back to 2k3. this game is ok but it's not as good and that's my point. you cant go 180mph on 2k3 and jerk wil back and forth without spinning out and i and several others have exp. this on arca. also the wrecks and damage are totally wrong. i hit wall at pocono full speed head on and no tires came off ground. "as real as it gets" huh?

Have you not seen any Daytona races? You always see someone jerking the wheel back and forth pretty hard to break up the draft behind them, and they don't go spinning out. It really comes down to the setup you have. If you have a tight setup, you can get away with more, but are generally slower than someone that is using a quick, loose setup. And my tires have come off the ground plenty of times after hitting a wall, so I'm almost wondering if we're playing a different game here, haha.

No I'm playing the same game. The one where you can drive right thru a car and the pace car lights never turn off. Look I'm not saying it's that bad of a game, it's just not as good as 2k3 and a bunch of you are acting like this game is pure gold. One other thing is the graphics. Looks a little "EA" "PS2" to me and a few others. Time will tell if aRca Factor will make it.

You don't "drive though" cars anymore with ARCA than NR2003. That's something you experience with any online game, it's all about latency which is an entirely different topic. EA PS2 hah. Now you're just digging for things to complain about. I guess you and these "others" haven't seen a PS2 game lately (either that, or you're playing with the lowest graphics settings). I don't care if you dislike the game, at least dislike it for real reasons.

Ha Ha Ha now I have you ticked. The "real" reasons the game is not better are graphics (yes i have an core2duo with a updated video card), physics are not as good, there is no "gentlemen start your engines", no blimp, chopper, pace car does not work right, damage is no realistic, spotter sucks, wheres the pit crew?, 2k3 is much more user friendly. I just ran a 25 lpr at Pocono and finished 6th of about 30 cars and never got loose and maybe just a nudge on the tight side after 14lps.

I'm not ticked, it doesn't matter to me if you like it or not, not like the money is going in my pocket. It is a little bothersome when someone bashes a product with off the wall reasons tough. The stuff you just said now are creditable reasons, but saying things like "It looks like a PS2 game" is just stupid =P

Thats cool my whole point was this isn't the best thing since sliced bread. Maybe they adjust and make it alot better in the future. I'm just frustrated that this game took forever and it is no better than 2k3. I think we all can agree that EA has just killed Nascar sims and before they had "the rights" racing was alot better. Everything progresses except Nascar computer games.  Anyway nice debate we had and maybe I'll see you on the track.
