To catch Mew, catch a pokemon that knows teleport. Go towards the youngster in the tall grass across the water from Nugget Bridge. As soon as he sees you, teleport to the Cerulean Poke'center, before he can fight you. Then, fight the swimmer in Misty's Gym. Then, walk back to Nugget Bridge. Mew will appear.
