@J0N4TH4NK1 So says the man that listens to rap music - (also known as - Talking on top of a repeating drum loop) - At least the bird has a decent taste in music,if nothing else.
As for lack of talent - Awards voted for by the media/industry/listners & viewers show otherwise - if people dont like her fine...But she hardly talentless
Anyway I think the bit about listening to your favourite music is a good idea, but saying "talk to your friends" might be a real punch in the face to anyone watching this who DON'T have friends.Bullying and isolation/loneliness go hand in hand.
I can't believe this actually aired, What about tips like "talk to someone who can help". Hell even trying to fight the bully yourself is better than these shitty tips.
yeah because kids who get bullied really have "GREAT friends" and ofcourse its always the pretty girls who get bullied and never the lonely, ugly ones. Fuck society.
I see the BBC removed comments from the Cheryl Cole video. BBC should apologise for putting a thug like her on an anti-bully video. Hopefully it may remove her from the ivory tower & clean out her sort from our screens. She showed no remorse for what she did to that cleaner, saying that she'd "do it all again". Another fine example of her temper is on Jonathon Ross she said that she put the ring back on reluctantly having buried it in ashley's head. Like speaks to like. They're both appalling.
No, you are totally wrong. I know that oftentimes, there are two sides to every story, but in this case, the BBC were just plain wwrong. People pointed out that they didnt like it. That doesnt make them a bully. Just because someone tolerates something, doesnt mean that they have to like it. Calling someone who doesnt agree with you a bully, just because they dont agree with you undermines those who are truly bullied. The BBC fucked up and it is sachgate all over again.
"You think cos your carrying noones gonna test you? Nah. They still gonna test you. Cos if they know you carrying they gonna make you come out with it. And if you come out with it you better be ready to go all the way"
He's talking about guns but he could just as well be discussing knives.
It's been proven time and time again that if you carry a knife you are more likely to end up the victim of an assault. Pulling a knife on someone who is bullying will most likely cause the situation escalate, rthaer than help to resolve it. Sure, you might scare the bully off, but what happens when he comes back with a weapon of his own?
hahaha oh fearne! so next time someone is about to beat you up in the playground, just ask them to stop for a second so you can apply your red lippy....then bam!....bullying problems?..wat bullying problems?
How am I "over generalising" groups such as celebrities? Ferne Cotton is a trivial person. Think about it.
It's such a shame that most folks look to celebs for answers (by which I mean people who are famous for simply being famous not people who actually do anything). So if baronvonchunk really believes that these celebs are in it for a good cause then he/she can go to them for all the answers he wants & I bet he'll realise how self promoting they are. Consider it ironic justice.
I agree that it is all self-promoting, and also that some of the advice is pretty unhelpful, but at least the issue itself is getting some publicity too. It's got us all talking and debating, which can only be a good thing I guess.
But seriously, if my comment offends anyone then please don't get down about it!....just slap on that lipstick and shake your arse to some 70s rock!! Thanks Fearne! lol
I can see that your intentions are good but I dont buy that "any publicity is good publicity" ethos. In fact, I think that these videos mostly trivialise bullying. Remember how kids got beaten up for their anti-bully wristbands? I really dont think that the outcome can only be a good thing. BTW I have just stolen Ferne's lipstick and applied it too my anus (before replacing it in her make up bag). You know what? I feel better.
Thanks for the reply, and for not just screaming abuse, like every other person on here seems inclined to do.
I agree that the BBC could've done alot better than these clips. It's fairly patronising to the children this is meant to address to assume that they'd rather hear advice from celebrities than from, say, a expert in a related field. They could've at least screened what was going to be said.
Good work with the lipstick, although I dread to think what you've done with her mascara...
The mascara made a handy little toilet brush. I'm blowing Fearne a kiss right now (through my puckered bum).
Regarding the thing about hearing advice from celebs rather than experts (or at least experienced people) is poignant because the way many of these celebs got their jobs was based upon the way they look. The same way that they will put a hand picked beauty like cherly cole in a girl band and then throw the ugly ginger one in to market ruthlessly towards the "uglier" kids.
lol...well 'the ugly ginger one' happens to be the one I find most attractive, which I guess goes to show how subjective these things are. Also, I find the way she has treated by the press (for the crime of daring to be ginger and pale) a shocking indictment of the mean-spirited and bullying nature of the whole media-celebrity circus. If it's ok to mercilessly hound and abuse someone in print, based soley on their looks, what message does that then send to our children?
Well yes, she is treated as a ginger criminal. Oddly that's why she makes her money. That is a case of bad publicity being good publicity as the product can be promoted to a range of pigeon holed buyers.
Taking these same hand-plucked beauties (or "uglies" if you want) & plonking them into an anti bully video is a vacuous move & reveals a glimpse into the minds of those who market in this way. Basically they're a bunch of c**ts. Sorry I made a typo there. I was meant to say cunts. Toodle pip.
So you're "reacting" by calling my opinions "biased". I'll tell you what my opinion is. It is from somebody who has been on the receiving end of racist bullying. I dealt with it successfully. I have no problem. In fact it would make a lot more sense if somebody, not famous, who has been through bullying gave advice.
My point to baronvonchunk was that worshipping people (especially those who do nothing, like celebs) is the shallow nature of society. Bullied kids need real guidance.
all these comments are actually retarded. carrying a knife, worst fucking advice you could ever give to someone. and all you commenting on how you'd like to 'fuck' her.. wow :/ get real.
That's good to know. The undergrowth between here and the bus stop is getting pretty thick. I was going to hack my way through but the stats had me worried.
I dont like any of these videos. The vast majority of them are celebs just saying cliches like "believe in yourself" or "just ignore them". Stuff that they basically put zero amount of thought into saying or meaning. Least this vid shes saying somethign diff. But still not REALLY gonna help u if ur being bullied
I know yeh, if you're being bullied, chances are you have no friends. If you did have friends, it wouldn't be called bullying, it would be called a gang fight lol
What an appalling group of people on these videos. Slap on a bit of rouge after someone has just slapped a purple shiner on your eye?
Let's translate what Ferne really said:
"Well I would just teleport out of reality into my showbiz bubble where nothing can touch me & then I'd get paid shitloads from the license fee which has been taxed off you lowly fuckers whilst I do nothing worthwhlie with my life... abso-fucking-lutely nothing meanwhile you all scrimp & save through a recession".
"relateable"? Something obviously distracted you at school. Still, have a nice life watching the celebs. Really, I hope you spend a whole chunk of your life watching them. For you it would be time well spent.
Of course, your true colours. Those would be your "nice relateable words, to contribute to a good cause".
Well children in need is on tonight so you could always watch some of your beloved celebs doing their bit for "a good cause".
All the while remember that Wogan wont be paying back one penny of that £15000 he got each time he presented it. But I guess you cant see through any of that having destroyed all sense of reason or structured argument by watching TV.
Totally worthwhile watch that was. Yeah, if you have just had the shit kicked out of you on the way home from school just slap some red lipstick over your bloodied lips. Im digressing a bit here but, seriously, why the fuck does Fearne Cotton mention bands like Led zepplin all the time? Does she it gives her credibility?
I don't understand how listening to Britney Spears and putting on lipstick will prevent bullies from calling you spiteful names, stealing your stuff and kicking your head in.
you must have miss read what I said, I was replying to Tybouk for accusing her of being a chav which she obviously isn't lol my bad I should have been clearer
by batle you should say life as these things dnt go away nobody gets a heres £200 and a free pass to hapynes u gotta fight for it and everyones fight is different some have loads a little ones some have big ones (bulys) oh and if you think loosing in a fight will make things worse it dont they will leave you alone
and anybody who is a victim if u arent gunna go the gym then please just smack the bully as hard as you can have a fight then you wont be worth the hasle incase you fight back again
Agreed. I think our beliefs probably have more in common than I first thought, and that what I'm doing is aruing against my own erroneous interpretation of your comments! So, apologies if that is the case, as I'm beginning to suspect lol.
People in a state of depression are usually in very unresourceful and unimpowered states, and helping them to find ways to become more resouceful and empowered is definately a good way to address things.
You can't lead someone into a more resourceful state, but you can help them remove the obstacles that lie in their path.
I think the gist of what I was trying to say, (in my own clumsy way) was that it is important for victims of bullying to know that it's ok to seek help, and that not having the resources to deal with it on one's own is not an indication of failure or inadequacy on their part.
Thanks for the reply. Nice to have someone actually respond with a considered opinion, rather than the usual stream of abuse! lol
Firstly, I'm not arguing that bullying can never result in a positive outcome for the victim, but i believe - romantic as the notion seems - that in the majority of cases bullying has a largely negative effect on those who suffer from it. I'm am pretty sure that an examination of the research into this will bear out what I'm saying...
Labelling a person a victim may not help them deal with the problem, but neither will ignoring the issue for fear of labelling them. If bullying is not addressed it can lead to severe problems, including depression, lack of self-worth, lack of confidence etc.
You ask the question 'Why sink into depression over it?', with regard to bullying. Depression is not a choice, and it is certainly not a 'sign of weakness'.
Depression is a clinically recognised and widely varying condition, and making unqualified assertions about it helps neither of us in this discussion.
Encouraging people to 'think positive' is good advice, but in most cases it amounts to little more than saying 'you just have to get on with it'.
This may work for some people, but the whole point of having some kind of support network for victims of bullying is that some people cannot 'just get on with it', and need help and support.
An importance difference is that professional fighters are there by choice.
I can see where you are coming from but I think it's a rather a reductive way to look at the problem of bullying.
I'd agree that being BEATEN can teach you valuable lessons about humility, and provide feedback about how you can improve. There is, I feel, an important difference between being defeated in a contest you have chosen to take part in, and being BEATEN UP, which is something that takes place without...
...your consent. Being subject to bullying CAN have positive outcomes (such as increasing your resolve), but it doesn't therefore follow that being bullied is a good thing. Being knocked off your bike may make you a more cautious and vigilent rider, but that doesn't mean that the incident itself was a good thing.
Good results can come from both good and bad events. Some people may find the experience of being bullied strengthens their character, but in the majority of cases this has proved..
...sadly untrue. A more common result of bullying is that the victim goes on to become a bully themselves (for example, the parent who beats their kid, then rationalises it by saying "my parent/s beat me and it never did me any harm").
Triumph in the face of adversity is a nice idea, but totally at odds with the reality of bullying.
That advice was rubbish, so next time my daughter comes home from school and tells me shes been bullied ill just say never mind put some red lipstick on and dance around the room, cool !!!!!!!
Agreed. The over-sexualized, beauty-matters-most culture that these things represent is probably more of a contributing factor to bullying, rather than a solution to it.
yh totally agree also try going to the gym I'm not saying be a pro weight lifter but it helps you feels better and when some one attacks you (verbal or physical) even if you don't fight back at first you will use that aggression at the gym and before you know it you will naturally want to fight back
of course not. but red lipstick usually isn't helpful when trying to raise confidence to beat bullies, or be 'bullyproof'... amazing friends do help, but in a lot of cases people do not have friends they can turn to..
She doenst mean GO get some red lipstick and crack it on to make you feel better, notice how she says if I'M feeling down, Shes telling you to do something that makes you feel good about yourself and just run with it.
Because if someone can't make you feel down on urself, or upset you and make you feel bad about who you are then ur "bullyproof" being bullied isnt just physical attacks.
All of these 'bullyproof' tips i've watched so far haven't once mentioned anything about actual bullying. They keep on saying surround yourself with friends who love you, well i dunno what planet they're living on but the people who usually get bullied don't have that many friends!
This is ridiculous. Fearne Cotton's just like "just put on some red lipstick" if you're gettin' bullied. Shit advice from girls who know shit! Boo BBC.
pretty girls with loads of friends who care about them loads aren't normally bullied. it is the slightly odd looking girls with no friends and maybe not very nice clothes etc. and it is the popular pretty girls with loads of friends who are doing the bulling for gods sake! if you want to stop bullying then you have to stand up to the bully doing whatever it takes to let them and everyone else know that it is not going to be worth their time bullying you and infact they will come off worse
I cant help but feel annoyed at how organisations like this present bullying as such a simplistic phenomenon. There is nothing that magically makes things better. I've been bullied before and I've seen others throughout my entire time at high school constantly get crap from bullies all the time. Schools are often reluctant to sort it out properly, instead just leaving it to the status quo and campaigns like this don't have any noticable effect no matter how good their intentions may be.
my advice would be to try and ignore it, because the bullys feed off ur misery... there you have it, decent advice given by a regular guy, who has had some experience with bullys. not a plastic celebrity who evryone probably worshiped in school
Ignor it , thats ur advice ? I dont know how things work wherever you are but the simple way to stop it is to show people that they cant giv you shit and get away with it. Iv watched people try and ignor it , my god it doesnt do anything except make things worse. Stand up for yourself and dont take shit from anybody.

great fuckin advice against bully's red lipstick
devanizmo 2 years ago
i'll bully her next time her i see her, and i'll give her some red lipstick in a way of saying sorry.
samadbaksh 2 years ago
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
You can't lead someone into a more resourceful state, but you can help them remove the obstacles that lie in their path.
I think the gist of what I was trying to say, (in my own clumsy way) was that it is important for victims of bullying to know that it's ok to seek help, and that not having the resources to deal with it on one's own is not an indication of failure or inadequacy on their part.
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
Thanks for the reply. Nice to have someone actually respond with a considered opinion, rather than the usual stream of abuse! lol
Firstly, I'm not arguing that bullying can never result in a positive outcome for the victim, but i believe - romantic as the notion seems - that in the majority of cases bullying has a largely negative effect on those who suffer from it. I'm am pretty sure that an examination of the research into this will bear out what I'm saying...
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
Labelling a person a victim may not help them deal with the problem, but neither will ignoring the issue for fear of labelling them. If bullying is not addressed it can lead to severe problems, including depression, lack of self-worth, lack of confidence etc.
You ask the question 'Why sink into depression over it?', with regard to bullying. Depression is not a choice, and it is certainly not a 'sign of weakness'.
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
Depression is a clinically recognised and widely varying condition, and making unqualified assertions about it helps neither of us in this discussion.
Encouraging people to 'think positive' is good advice, but in most cases it amounts to little more than saying 'you just have to get on with it'.
This may work for some people, but the whole point of having some kind of support network for victims of bullying is that some people cannot 'just get on with it', and need help and support.
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
nahh all wrong, you need to kill the fuck out of ppl with a pair of sub automatic machine guns

I'll try the lipstick thing although I'm not sure it will work so well for a man.
ImHereToAnnoyYou 2 years ago
An importance difference is that professional fighters are there by choice.
I can see where you are coming from but I think it's a rather a reductive way to look at the problem of bullying.
I'd agree that being BEATEN can teach you valuable lessons about humility, and provide feedback about how you can improve. There is, I feel, an important difference between being defeated in a contest you have chosen to take part in, and being BEATEN UP, which is something that takes place without...
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
...your consent.
Matthewkilb 2 years ago
...sadly untrue. A more common result of bullying is that the victim goes on to become a bully themselves (for example, the parent who beats their kid, then rationalises it by saying "my parent/s beat me and it never did me any harm").
Triumph in the face of adversity is a nice idea, but totally at odds with the reality of bullying.
Matthewkilb 2 years ago 2
what if you have no friends because the bullying is so severe?
bethb88 2 years ago 3
That advice was rubbish, so next time my daughter comes home from school and tells me shes been bullied ill just say never mind put some red lipstick on and dance around the room, cool !!!!!!!
Lisa13720 2 years ago 3
At least it'll get her into Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy though. Terrible advice I agree.

I hardly see how red lipstick and britney are solutions to a childhood full of emotional torture.
superficial, pathetic.
mrsdengler 2 years ago 2
Agreed. The over-sexualized, beauty-matters-most culture that these things represent is probably more of a contributing factor to bullying, rather than a solution to it.

oh yh check aleshia dixons it a more round about way of what im saying
jackojeff 2 years ago
yh totally agree also try going to the gym I'm not saying be a pro weight lifter but it helps you feels better and when some one attacks you (verbal or physical) even if you don't fight back at first you will use that aggression at the gym and before you know it you will naturally want to fight back

good advice bro

this is for BULLYING fearne, not making yourself feel better when you're down!
sarahcattle 2 years ago 3
I guess... you feel down if you're getting bullied?
xSharliex19x 2 years ago
sorry what lol? your saying people dont feel down after being bullied?
Kustard123 2 years ago
of course not. but red lipstick usually isn't helpful when trying to raise confidence to beat bullies, or be 'bullyproof'... amazing friends do help, but in a lot of cases people do not have friends they can turn to..
sarahcattle 2 years ago
She doenst mean GO get some red lipstick and crack it on to make you feel better, notice how she says if I'M feeling down, Shes telling you to do something that makes you feel good about yourself and just run with it.
Kustard123 2 years ago
again, how does that help you beat bullies, or be 'bullyproof'..
sarahcattle 2 years ago
Because if someone can't make you feel down on urself, or upset you and make you feel bad about who you are then ur "bullyproof" being bullied isnt just physical attacks.
Kustard123 2 years ago
fair enough, i see your point, but i wasn't referring to physical attacks.

All of these 'bullyproof' tips i've watched so far haven't once mentioned anything about actual bullying. They keep on saying surround yourself with friends who love you, well i dunno what planet they're living on but the people who usually get bullied don't have that many friends!

pretty girls with loads of friends who care about them loads aren't normally bullied. it is the slightly odd looking girls with no friends and maybe not very nice clothes etc. and it is the popular pretty girls with loads of friends who are doing the bulling for gods sake! if you want to stop bullying then you have to stand up to the bully doing whatever it takes to let them and everyone else know that it is not going to be worth their time bullying you and infact they will come off worse

monogirl3 2 years ago 3
I cant help but feel annoyed at how organisations like this present bullying as such a simplistic phenomenon. There is nothing that magically makes things better. I've been bullied before and I've seen others throughout my entire time at high school constantly get crap from bullies all the time. Schools are often reluctant to sort it out properly, instead just leaving it to the status quo and campaigns like this don't have any noticable effect no matter how good their intentions may be.
makgirling 2 years ago 5
You gossip, you then dance around your room and put on make up and you feel better? Thank you for enforcing the female stereotype.
ChurnedKeyboard 2 years ago 12
my advice would be to try and ignore it, because the bullys feed off ur misery... there you have it, decent advice given by a regular guy, who has had some experience with bullys. not a plastic celebrity who evryone probably worshiped in school
lukejin 2 years ago
Ignor it , thats ur advice ? I dont know how things work wherever you are but the simple way to stop it is to show people that they cant giv you shit and get away with it. Iv watched people try and ignor it , my god it doesnt do anything except make things worse. Stand up for yourself and dont take shit from anybody.
