I remember it all as if it was yesterday. Though I did not live in New York or Fire Island - I was in Melbourne, Australia, it is still all so nostalgic. The sense of 'community', the music (I still have the theme to this clip on vinyl), and of course, the men...seemingly everywhere! While I got nowhere near 23, I did manage 9 in one day. I can say I was so fortunate to have experienced gay life in the '70s....and to have survived it intact.
