Isn't the Lord more concerned with your motive. If you want to keep Sunday do it to the Lord with a pure motive or the sabbath or no particular day. Respect each others conviction and remember Christ always 24/7. What is more important is to get off this milk and start the meat. What spiritual fruit are you bearing and are you growing in gifts for the edification of your brothers and sisters in Christ? Debates about days is religious hot air, it does not save anyone.
@2KeepMeHumble Yes the Most High is more concerned with motive than with action, our motivation has to be love (1Cor. 13:1-4). If ye love me (motivation), keep my commandments (action). We are to follow in Christ's footsteps (1John 2:6), as He strengthens us to do so (Phil. 4:13). Did He keep the commandments? Yes He did (John 15:10). Why did He keep them? To glorify the Father (John 17:4). Ought we to do the same? Yes (Isaiah 43:7)
@2KeepMeHumble God will for mankind is very specific, He created many trees but specifically told Adam which ones were for food. It was not up to Adam to pick any tree he wanted to eat from, nor is it up to us which day we should keep holy. Sunday keeping is a man made tradition, the seventh day Sabbath was given to mankind by the Creator. If we are to truly glorify Him in the earth we have to keep His commandments. Do we keep them to be saved? No we keep them because we love Him
@2KeepMeHumble There is no debate my friend, His will for us is clear, plain and simple. Sadly the Devil is still whispering in men's ears "Yea, hath God said" And what saddens God the most is that people are still listening to him.
@lazbo4174 God bless you but I am not convicted by the spirit to keep the day. There are other things in my life that Our father is leading me in. Patience through my faults and suffering for righteousness in love. We all as born again Christians have steps in front of us that the spirit is leading us in. I need to spend more time being established in the scripture more time in prayer I want to grow more obedient to His voice more sensitive.
You are so correct, that motive is what God looks upon. Clearly Jesus expected those who loved Him to be keeping His Day. Love is the best motive, isn't it? God bless.
@Azania101 I know brother, but the sign to flee was given in 67AD when the Roman armies under Cestius briefly surrounded Jerusalem, the unexpected retreat of the Romans was the sign for believers to leave the city. All who remained inside until 70AD where slain.
Yep Jesus/Yeshua said he is the God of the sabbath, and we all say he does not change!!
