  • I have Samsung Focus for over a year and like it very much. Just waiting to trade it for nice and shiny Nokia Lumia 900!!

  • so... can i challenge you with my windows phone? :D

  • I will give you my phone just to get one those

  • @KehoeDeclan and i will bet $100 you cant use a remote control, or read a bus timetable, or explain how android is just, like, you know, derivation and stuff (BTW do you mean derivative? and can you spell and/or define it?). enjoy your iphone. i certainly enjoy knowing morons like you own one.

  • Microsoft is so confident with their phone their offering to put 100 bucks on the line :)

Don`t get me wrong i love my iphone 4S but i would hoenstly trade it in for one of thoes

  • The App Store. $100 please!

  • 24 people got smoked by a Windows Phone.

  • Microsoft way to sell their platform with ridiculous tests and give-aways is really pathetic.. if they really had a good platform people would buy it without all this fuss.. like Android did..

  • @eyfhsdksd Android devices are cheap thats only reason they've been successful

  • @rkukentertainment Poor Microsoft.. nobody buys their smartphones because they cost too much.. that's a sad way to fail!

  • @eyfhsdksd WPs aren't expensive, most match Androids in price...or Android devices worth getting, not the old crap ones that will never get a future update on Android, having said that if I bought a phone tomorrow running Android other than the Galaxy Nexus theres a chance it'd never see Ice Cream Sandwich. Besides Windows Phone has been out for "months", Androids been out for "years", saying no one buys them is like saying no one buys TVs from a new manufacture just cause Sony has sold more b4.

  • @rkukentertainment The fact that wp7 doesn't sell despite millions investments is something most analysts agree and Microsoft partially disclosed for the first quarters.

All android phones get the latest update except maybe $90 phones but at least you can wine on some forum and usually you get an update from some programmer, on the contrary Microsoft has rigid rules for making old phones outdated just like Apple does and no way you can write Microsoft!

  • they shoud make software updates better and make apps even better not crappy games

  • Android is much bigger competition for iOS..... just saiyan

  • 19 peoples are iPhone users

  • And yet no one will care about WP7.

  • SGS2 FTW!

  • dude my galaxy s2 will smoke any Windows Phone!!! samsung is where its at!!! XD

  • @DhanleyEntertainment samsung makes windows phones too, and ur s2 prbly got smoked in this competition already

  • @pranka501 you realize that's an advert and it means not much? Microsoft has pre-loaded many applications as tiles and he simply clicks them, moreover wp7 comes with facebook and twitter already integrated (something people like me wouldn't like much).

You can obtain the same with widgets on Android.

  • @eyfhsdksd I have a windows phone myself, a 1st gen one, and is quicker than many recent phones (Androids and iPhones), and it actually doesnt. Most people do use social networks, so it benefits them, if you dont want it, you dont need to use it, the OS never forces it on you. The Me/People tiles work fine even if you only text/call/email people.

And I've used android, the widgets rarely perform as well as tiles do on wp7, and it slows the phone down a lot if you use a lot of widgets

  • @pranka501 I'd like to see a formal proof of how tiles perform faster than widgets.. or at least some scientific test.. anyway having facebook and twitter meshed with text messages might not be appreciated by corporate businessman or people who want to use.. say myspace.. only reason they are there is that Microsoft has a big partecipation in Facebook stock..

  • @eyfhsdksd if you want to test it, go ahead. Im just saying, after using both for a long time, tiles function much better. and there arent many ppl who use myspace nowadays. even so, theres probably an app for it, just as in android, which doesnt offer deep myspace integration into the OS.

and regardless of who owns what stock, (i dont even think thats the reason) it is something valued by a lot of wp7 users, which makes it a greater OS as a whole

  • How stupid. As if I would need to switch off my iPhone and than on again to know I have a good phone. This is only useful if you have a phone that freezes all the time - like a windows phone...

  • @luha68 I used to own an iPhone that froze all the time.

  • @pickassoreborn Than you are one of the many that aren't happy with their iPhone. See customer reports here and there... But again, boot up speed is so 80's. I can't even say when I switch off my phone at all. There are other - more important - figures to look at... Keep your 100 Dollars, we're on Euro anyway...

  • @luha68 get your facts check buddy. Windows phone does not freeze period. Look it up

  • @xxYetterxx Of course not. That's why you usually don't need to reboot. That's why a discussion about boot up times is useless. That's why this entire discussion and 100 bugs for a quick booting phone are just one thing: dumb Microsoft marketing.

  • @xxYetterxx search for windows phone 7 fail and see some enthusiast owners of freezing windows phones..

  • @eyfhsdksd yeah, there is like one video from one year ago when WP7 was first released. Nice try bud.

  • @xxYetterxx Well of course Microsoft after each patch becomes the best and error-safest software in the world.

That's why a WP7 phone of 6 months ago which doesn't reboot after some days of use is perfectly good for you.

  • @eyfhsdksd I recommend reading your post over and seeing if you can make sense of it. Then send me another message that has some clarity and I would be more than happy to continue this debate. Furthermore searching for android fail, or iPhone fail will provide countless examples of problems with software and hardware (mind you there are 10x the amount of android and iOS devices out there so its not all that surprising)

  • @luha68 My Windows Phone has never freeze before. Even if an app does crash, the rest of the OS still runs smoothly.

  • Wow, this is really gr8. I was thinking of getting wp when mango came cause it was a big upgrade. But still I will stay with android for now (got really old one, will get some 4.0). When windows phone 8 comes I'm sure it will be ownage and I may even but it, just hope that I can find a good hardware phone to then :)

  • I"ll challenge you with my motorola razr! oh snap, I lost! I'll trade my slow phone for a windows phone

  • Upgraded my wife's phone to HTC Trophy from droid and she said it's the best phone she ever had. I got one too and loving it.

  • Time to open my phone and install a large cpu heatsink and overclock my phone pass the 2Ghz mark. Then I'll win.

  • my phone boots from RAM in 5 secs... can't beat superRAM

  • but I on sprint!

  • I don't have a twitter and I am not in Vegas but my phone would definitely win.

  • He rocked: 21 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the HTC vivid (4G LTE). No microsoft phone will beat mines Booting up or browsing speed

  • @MZONE91 your vivid doesnt even use the gpu in the browser, so no it can't come close

  • @MZONE91 lol troll fandroid

  • post the twitter links! I'm too lazy to type...

  • Windows Phone 7 leaves other phones in the dust, no doubt!

  • I hope they won't put a LTE phone to compete with a 3g phone on browsing speed.

  • Lol, now this is competition!

  • @MegaEpictroll Hell Yeahh!!

  • Balls.

  • I charged my Nokia 3310 back in 2001 and i still got full battery, now beat that :P

  • Go WP7

  • I'm sure a homescreen with well-placed icons and widgets will be just as intuitive as the Metro UI for the user. Android's intents feature can handle media sharing across all social networks.

  • If he is confident about his windows phone, then why does he brings a whole stak off 100 dollar with him?

  • @1992roetje If he didn't have $100 to give you would you be as tempted? No.

  • @1992roetje Man, it's Las Vegas...you need money for the cassinos...

  • game on, bout to spend 3k on a plane ticket + hotel + food cuz im taking em fucking $100 >:o

  • I'm throwing my phone to the screen but nothing happens!!! :o

  • I love the guys posting specs and ROMs...it's not about quadrant scores...it's about usability...

  • @bluefisch200 and the usability of the Windows Phone is outstanding. Have you tried it?

  • @discorax I have the HTC 7 Pro...can't use it because i miss some apps that i need (some of them are there but low quality...for example WhatsApp)...

  • Screw the $100. Just let me trade you my Android for a Windows Phone. ;)

  • Well, Windows Phone 7.5 will beat every Android phone, iPhone or any other smartphone. They are blazingly fast. And you get that speed without rooting and doing other shitty things to your phone. So, Android fans, how long will you be overclocking and rooting your phones, which dies in several hours, to prove that your phones are as fast as WP7.5? I think, that your phone will NEVER be as fast as WP7.5 ones

  • @windowsphone: Which speedtest are you using?

  • Now installing the F1 rom onto my SGS2. Give me my $100 noaw plix?

  • @BKsMassive ...See, that's what you have to do to get a Android devices to compete. Whats it like out of the box? That's why WP is the best OS because you don't have to make yourself feel good about ''modifying'' your phone. It just works! You android guys justify your OS not being good out of the box by saying that it is more ''Customizable'' and open. What you guys really mean is that it has to be customized and "hacked'' to function properly. Sorry if I come off as a hater, But?

  • @rodneyej1 There's a bit more to customization than making it "function properly." A phone could function perfectly out of the box, but it's still not tailored to me. Android offers quite a bit of customization without "hacking." I'll admit that customizations shouldn't be used to justify a poor out-of-the-box experience, but I don't think most Android phones are bad out of the box. I'm considering a Windows Phone as my next phone, but I would still miss the customization of Android.

  • This is very true. I beat my friend iphone 4S so easy. LOL Windows phone 7.5 best OS and Fast & Fluid

  • well you cant beat an old nokia...

  • If you would like to share a phone e-mail me, not in my budget to buy.

  • samsung galaxy s2 ANDROID custom rom....give me my money!

  • Could use a $100.

    Samsung Galaxy Note

    1.6ghz Dual core

    Custom Rom

  • @mil0ny Bad idea. Using voice command on a Trade Show floor. I bet you'd easily loose.

  • I would get a windows phone but Verizon seems to dislike carrying them. Maybe because they can't keep all of their bloat on there. :/

  • Hah! Jokes on you Microsoft! I dont care if it takes 3 seconds to open a text message vs 2 seconds on your phone. Ill bet $100 that Android and iPhone have way more apps and I can root my Android and do what ever I want with it. On a side note I kinda like the Windows phone interfae.

  • @ripsnorting13 How are you gonna bet on something that everyone already knows is factually true?

  • @wixostrix Well if I bet on a fact how can you lose?

  • so how can i swap my smart phone for a windows phobe ;) ??

  • I wanna go get $100

  • Awesome challenge wish I was at CES to do this with my new Samsung Galaxy S II! I'd totally switch to a W7P if they had the Onstar RemoteLink App!

  • Cmon Microsoft!! Give the googleheads and isheep a Chance!! hahaha i will thourghly enjoy the expressions on the losers faces!!! :D

  • it's not only the CPU that determines how fast you can do things with your phone... its how the UI was designed! Windows Phone has brilliant UI which makes you do things much faster than icon-based smartphones.

  • @francis25069 well android is not icon based.... metro is as optional interface also for android... but just some people like this luncher...

  • @mraky2 Android uses an icon-based UI just like iOS and the Metro skin for Android is not the same experience as the real metro on Wp7

  • @wixostrix ;) dont want to start flame, but it is using objects on screen - like widgets... therefor you can make same as metro ( ok i agree to make same like metro, it would require alots of work, and still there will be android menu behind. but my poit was to say, android is not like iphone - just single interface... there is alots of launchers with very different user aproache... not single icon based...

  • well why not - i am daily opening my crypted folder, then with file commander openning file i need to work with, and after work i am closing it..... how fast i can do this on windows phone7 ;))

  • My HTC inspire boots up in 11 seconds I over clocked the main prosesser to run at 1.3Gh when the default was 800Mhs

  • im in! :)

  • After this is over the question will be which is the fastest windows phone?

  • Gotta admit, Microsoft has got balls!

But I'm still confident that any Windows Phone 7 will beat the crap out of any phones though.

My first gen HTC HD7 (released in 2010) boots up in 23 secs. Beat that.

  • @Jakez98 My Lumia 800 boots up in 14 seconds. I was laughing the other day next to a friend who is a Blackberry user

  • @fbloise Totally get what you mean! I was laughing at my friend's iPhone 4S the other day too!

  • @Jakez98 my galaxy s2 boots up in 11 secs. beaten.

  • @iAnimationProduction nope it doesn't

  • @TeamFS72 i know you're jealous but with android customisability it's possible. on wp7 and ios however, you'll never be able to boot up that fast.

  • @iAnimationProduction How can you compare a 2 year old phone from 2010 with a recent phone? How about comparing the Galaxy S 2 with the current HTC Titan 2?

  • @Jakez98 even with the new wp7 phones with the faster 1.4 ghz single core processor and mango OS it still wouldn't beat my galaxy s2 or any other older android phones for that matter so long as you load a custom rom/kernal, which isn't possible on a wp7 device due to it being a closed source.

  • @iAnimationProduction everything u just said was wrong, my hd7 outperforms the newest androids, and u can hack a wp7 if u want, same as android

  • @pranka501 newest androids such as? talk about galaxy s2 only please because the only worthy phone of android is the galaxy s2 which is why i came over the android from iOS. Also, it's no big deal that your wp7 can beat android devices with simple task. Wait till you play some high end games like infinity blade your device starts to cripple because of low end specs. Low specs is the failure of wp7.

  • @iAnimationProduction as in the galaxy nexus, which has the OS as it was intended by google. and see, wp7 doesnt have 'high end specs' because it doesnt need it, it can play several good-looking games with what it has, and as for 'high end' ones, i wouldnt know until EA releases several more games for it.

honestly, u should give it a try, ive used several androids and iOS devices, and wp7 is the best by far.

  • @iAnimationProduction Yeah, but what if you are challenging these WP7 devices with your Galaxy S2 with the OEM ROM?

Specs don't mean a thing if the OS's codes are not optimized. (Like Android)

A single core WP7 device just beat a whole bunch of high end dual core phones without rooting or other customization. Face it.

  • @Jakez98 The challenge didnt state that android devices needed to be in stock ROM for the challenge to be valid. Besides, the selling point of android is that you can hack it and customize it to your liking. Anyway, even with stock ROM on my galaxy s2 it boots up in 16 secs. Also my galaxy s2 last for 3 days on a single charge and has totally no lag (with stock ROM) at all so tell me which part of it is not optimised? Maybe you're talking about cheap low end android devices are free.

  • @iAnimationProduction I admit it. The only reason your Galaxy S 2 can outperform these Windows Phones is mostly because a) You have access to a much higher specs, and b) You installed a custom ROM.

At least I know that Windows Phones doesn't have to do all these things to achieve similar performance as your Galaxy S 2. It just works beautifully out of the box.

And to be honest, I really doubt that any phones will be able to compete with Windows Phones once the dual cores starts to roll out.

  • @Jakez98 HD7 ftw

  • @pranka501 In fact, I would say Windows Phone 7.5 FTW!

  • @Jakez98 my HTC Inspire 4G boots up in 8 seconds, beat that!

  • @bduran727 Is that a 2 year old phone from 2010? Guess not!

  • @Jakez98 Actually, The Inspire is a Desire HD, which was released in September of 2010. Windows Phone 7 did not come out till November 2010.

Still beaten, get your facts straight before you shoot your mouth.

  • @bduran727 The Inspire 4G is officially announced in last year's CES, which was held in January.

So strictly speaking, it's a 2011 phone. And I'm also pretty sure that you have rooted your phone, because the latest HTC Sensation XE don't even boot up this fast.

  • @Jakez98 It's a re-branded Desire HD, so I guess you could say it was released in 2011.

But I'm not rooted, completely stock. I could make a video if you want.

  • @bduran727 1) Just because the Inspire 4G is a re-branded Desire HD, it doesn't mean that the Inspire 4G is released in 2010.

For example, the HD2 is released in 2009, and since the HD7 is also basically a re-branded HD2, so does that mean that the HD7 is released in 2009 too?

And come to think of it, for a phone that is running on a 2009 hardware, you gotta admit that it is really fast considering the boot time and browser performance.

  • @Jakez98 Have you seen the video where it gets beaten by an iPhone 4S?

Good on them for stepping up though, I like the UI a lot and Microsoft have some great ideas; but I personally prefer the ecosystem and design of Apple products.

  • @KehoeDeclan Yeah, I saw that. I wasn't surprised though, given that iOS also includes a decent Twitter integration as well.

And if the iPhone is once the golden standard for smartphones, then Microsoft has certainly caught up with the iPhone now! (And that includes Androids too!)

  • @Jakez98 Obviously I'm slightly biased, but trying to be fair; Windows Phone is most definitely the closest thing to a true competitor for iOS in my opinion. It's funny, although I'm an Apple fan I want Windows to do well because competition based on innovation is great (and not derivation like Android is doing...) and exciting for the industry.

I hate when people just go to utter fanboyism you know?!

  • @KehoeDeclan Totally know what you mean!

When Apple first introduced iOS, I was like, wow, that's certainly something worth looking at. But when it comes to Android, it just feels like a cheap copy of the iOS. (And a laggy and buggy one too!)

  • @Jakez98 Agreed, which is why I hope WP7 can do some good for the marketplace.

  • @Jakez98 My LG GT540 with custom ROM boots in less then 15s, beat that. ^^

  • @StaySic4Ever But do your phone have the what it takes to challenge my HD7 using your original ROM head on?

  • @Jakez98 And how often do people reboot their phones?

  • Android.

  • Note, he said "At things you do every day".

So, this isn't running a test on just how fast it can display a 3D image or what the CPU score is.

My guess is it will be something like "Update facebook status, send a tweet, send an email, etc"

  • Comment removed

  • @bmw2go11 What if it's never overclocked? Still as confident as you are now?

  • awww i already have a windows phone...

  • How fast can your Windows phone connect to Cisco VPN, or Connect to Citrix Receiver.. I bet my 2 year old Android will connect to Cisco or Citrix before Windows can.

  • @DanRegalia cool story bro.

  • @DanRegalia which is exactly the purpose of a typical phone... NOT. but still, cool if it's what YOU need, and it serves you well, then.

  • Sucks!

  • Nokia N9 with MeeGo 1.2 is the fastest in the universe.

  • [Deletes all data on phone]

    [Overclocks CPU]

    [Upgrade RAM]

    Let's do this.

  • @Dajoma1975 Ben will just turn his on.

  • @Dajoma1975 good lcuk because we will just do the same

  • I wanna go!!!

  • I've got 2 Windows Mobile phones. Does this mean that I give them to you and you give me a brand new Windows Phone smartphone?! For FTHREE?
