Just go View>Source and then search (Ctrl-F) for "flv" without the quotes. Look for a url with "high" in it, and you've got it!

Try to convert it on a bigger scale, for example the original video is 640x480 and you make it 1024x768, then youtube hopefully will recognise it as an HD or HQ video with no quality loss.

Yes but with a converter you can convert it to any type of video you want.
For example try the "Total Video Converter"
