I see. Well, Roush is a tuner for Mustangs. Their Stage 3s can compete with a good deal of 911s (but no where near the level of the Corvette). Now, given that Roush starts with a regular Ford Mustang, Ford can potentially turn a Stang into a serious track threat. Ford has the capabilities, they just chose not to. The solid rear axle for example, Ford can easily just put independent rear suspension on them (Roush does it in modern day Stage 3s, I think).

My son works as a painter for a large local collision center and his boss bought a wrecked Ford GT (2005?)last year. He just got it back from the frame shop and my son is getting ready to paint it. They have a control arm on back order but other than that it's ready to roll. It's so sweet, especially for Ford. It's a beast, even stock. I'll be hitting him up for a drive when it's done-LOL.
