Hi I have one of these wee things, you're right it's a good stove, though it would be no bad thing if someone had a go at designing a clip on funnel t redirect some of the skank, from burning sticks, dry leaves & wilderness detritus, but as it already fits so neatly into it's pouch and my pocket, it might defeat the purpose a bit!
I bought one of these in January 09. On the first lighting, the paint burns off and the stove gets really sooty. Can be a booger to figure out how to fold back up, till you develop your own method.
Its a good stove and can cook meals pretty good, only downside is pots get covered in soot. You could use it for emergency heat if you had a chimney in your house or someway to get the smoke out.
I have this stove. Don't pay or order from the UK sites that sell this model if you live in the USA as the price difference & exchange rates kill any value you get. Performance is decent, but might be a little better with a slight trench dug below the stove if you want to use it for extended periods. I paid about $20 w/shipping for mine. :)
HOORAY FOR TEA! thats a pretty nifty little invention but personally i would go with a snowpeak stove. you can build little wood stoves out of the materials around you if you know how. still, thats things pretty cool.
I use a Msr Reactor stove it boils 1 liter of water in 3 minutes. Usually when I go camping I just cook over the fire its a lot easier then using a stove. It gets your pots real dirty though. The snowpeak looks like a cool light stove, you should post a video on your snowpeak stove.
i LOVE reactors! when my stove goes kaput, thats what im buying. the only disadvantage is if you want to simmer something, which rarely happenes anyway.
I have the type of foldable portable stove which you can buy with fuel pellets, all for around £4, and where the teeth interlock when folded back down in to a flat metal 'brick', but I've never seen your model before.
I have videos of 3 differnt types of stoves on youtube. The stove your talking about sounds like a Esbit tab stove, I have one of those. I got mine from a the sportsmansguide they are a hunting store. The stove in this video only takes natural fuel like wood, tinder, leaves, etc.

Where can somebody buy the metal canteen with cup? Have looked around the Web, but can't find the metal one.
snocamo154 3 years ago
My canteen is plastic, the cup is metal. Most army and navy stores sell them. Ebay should have some.

Smear bar soap on the bottom of your cookware before cooking on an open fire and it will be easier to clean up when you are done.

Your welcome. I like it for camping but it gets all your cook wear covered in soot. Have any questions feel free to ask.
