  • Listened to this over 500000 times in a 10 year period & its just as gorgeous now as it was the first time. Timeless and nobody can outdo it

  • Heard this in "The Artist". Reminded me what a great sountrack this is. BERNARD HERMANN FOREVER!

  • This song is used in The Artist. Just putting it out there.

  • One of the very best films ever made. The music is on the same level of genius.

  • Simply excellent thank u so very much

  • I think he love debussy, but he had a totally different appoach of the music. Love it

  • Fantastic film!

  • Aside from being the most beautiful touching song I have ever heard, I thought it would make a great song for the best female iceskater to have ever lived!

  • Creative genius of Hitch and Herrmann nothing can compare with either of their epic works. Chills on listening to Herrmann scores , Marnies prelude also haunting. Hitch was way ahead of his time in films and was connected with Herrmann's genius creating masterpieces of all time !

  • omg thank God i found this, watched this in my film class and couldn't get this song out of my head.

  • i am watching a documentary about what might have killed the dinosaurs, and the music on the show... i know i had heard it somewhere before

  • Vertigo is Alfred Hitchcock's greatest movie, a movie masterpiece. Bernard Herrman's score is haunting.

Kim Novak, James Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Bernard Hermann deserve the greatest praise for their work in this movie and none were even nominated. Only the sleek Kim Novak still lives. Why cant the Academy honor Novak with an Honorary Oscar?

A great great movie. Every time I see it I learn something more.

  • Studying this in Film Studies now and for good reason! This score really chills me I'm a huge fan of Herrmann anyway but this really gets me, especially in the scene when Scottie recounts his past with Judy and the camera pans all around him showing the room to be somehwere else. Love this music.

  • Absolutely wonderful music.

Thank you very much for posting!

    Best regards

    Satoko

  • Acteurs magnifiquement filmés, Alfred connaissait son métier et Kim Novack déchire l'écran! classe, beauté naturelle.. certaines devraient en prendre de la graine. Bref un petit bijou!

  • Some of the most haunting music I have ever heard. Bernard Hermann is a genius.

  • I agree. Maybe 'haunting' is the most accurate definition of this film.

    Thanks everybody for rating.

  • zoomgee... our marching band theme is based on bernard herrman's pieces... his music is astonishing

  • This is from when Judy and Scottie kiss, right? P: Just checking...

Thanks for uploading! I love the music in this movie.

  • Hitchcock and Herrmann were the best director/composer duo of all time, even better than Spielberg/Williams

  • the most beautiful piece

  • I have the soundtrack LP to VERTIGO on ebay uk from top.vision. Fantastic music.

  • The work of a master

  • I Agree 100%!!!

  • Sends chills up my spine every time...

  • Five stars all the way. I'm a fan of the great Herrmann, and this score which was inspired by Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde" never fails to give me the chills. Probably the most haunting piece of music composed for a film.

  • @Nornegest Agree it is very Tristan-y music.
