  • Absolutely awesome ... ! The very best version of this old standard originally recorded by Frankie Laine, et al, and Earl Lewis & the Channels ... but Angelo's falsetto truly is outrageously awesome in this rendition! RIP, Angelo

  • You`re correct. It is Spectacular!

  • love angelo

  • Absolutely beautiful !! When you've got background like this, your front guy has to shine & sparkle with the inspiration the ride takes him on. I mean....without finger snapping or foot tapping for synchopation, you guys flow like silk & blend those harmonies so cool. Outstanding !!

  • BRAVO!!!!!!

  • Like the cough at around 1:00.

  • Well, I am 67 and this was my favorite song in 1960 or so-it was on the back side of where or when on 45 rpm!!!!!

    A great song!!

  • On my fifth time in a row playing this over and over. Wife thinks I smoked a joint. She already danced this with me the first two times. Then left the room and closed the door.

  • Loved Dion and the Belmonts. But this acappella by \only the Belmonts, exemplifies what street corner harmony was all about. Considering the angry junk music that is today, I'm so glad I can think back to when I was a teenager in the 50's to have been able to be a part of these great sounds: so expressive, feelings about love.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wish You Were Here Eddie To Sing This With Me ! Miss You ....Rest In Peace..We will All Be Together Again One Day... Then We Will Sing Forever !

  • Sorry about the comment , I was wrong about Dion being with the group!

    Sorry about that!

    Still Love the song!

    Cynthia

  • Dion is the GREATEST! This song is good!!!

  • @cynthia6637 This isn't Dion....He had walked away from the group long before this album was made

  • great harmony

  • So is this overdubbed?

  • i love this but someone caughs into the mike at 54 seconds and i listened three times...not any of the singers . Can't believe they didn't hear this during the mix.....

  • I have heard this song from various groups. This version is by far the best for me in glorious accapella.

  • I'm so glad I lived thru this era. Thank you phunky for posting this. My cousin lives a few houses from Dion (in Florida) and he is STILL trying to get Dion to harmonize with him..lol.

  • harmony is just perfect it's hard to do acappella cause you don't have the instruments to balance out so you gotta get it right or else... the conductor can pick it out....

  • It don't get any better than that

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME SONG!

  • E Louis n the channels the best of the rest!!!

  • Wow this is better than the one they did with Dion. Please post more tracks thanks

  • Wonderful talent. My favorite version is the original recording by Earl Lewis and the Channels, followed by Dion and the Belmonts. This song has been recorded by so many great groups. It is a real classic. Thanks for posting this version.

  • You can sure tell Angelo D'Aleo is doing the falsetto part. No one does the highs better.

  • I loved it. They are so smooth, definitely as good as the Dion and the Belmonts version that was the big hit.

  • As reluctant as I am to admit it, that sounded almost as good as the Dion-led version that was such a big hit around 1960. Lead singer here does a creditable job and the Belmonts are superb, as usual, on the backing.

  • Belmonts..... Dion ??

  • This is from one of my all-time favorite albums that I bought late in 1972 when it was first released.Their versions of "Your mine",Streetcorner symphony","Rock n R Lullabye" "Da doo ron, ron",and "Where or when"are all spectacular. The used the best voice synthesizer in the business and the acoustics on this are flawless!

  • @thebigfist If you can find a better acappella than the Belmonts version of Rock and Roll Lullabye on this album, it wouldn't be from this planet.

  • Used to play this one all the time as a college radio dj, when it first came out in the '70s. Thanks for posting!

  • Fantastiskt.

  • this is great, thanks!!! keep 'em comin phunkyjunction...

  • never heard them do this accappella...Very Nice!

  • One of my favorite versions of this great song.
