In Fall 2009 the new Golf Mk6 will be released in the US/Canada as "Golf" dropping the name: "Rabbit". (Infos: Wikipedia article about the Golf). So: till fall 2009: Rabbit=Golf, upcoming fall 2009: All new VW Golfs and VW Rabbits of this world are "VW Golfs". My apologies.

its like saying who wants a car called a beetle but still the car is like one of the most popular cars in the world, you dont make since, Rabbit is the real name for the VW Golf, if you look back i n the 80's the GTI is called the Rabbit GTI, and even still today i have the MKV GTI myself, and i rather call it the Rabbit GTI than the Golf GTI because referring to Rabbit makes the car seem faster!
