  • This video is such a life saver. I am about to do my first sew in!

  • Thanks so much for posting this vid. You made it simple to follow. Now if I can learn to cornrow!

  • @ardentgailla i'm thinking about doing a video for that too.

  • love it. thanks. but what about at the back for the ends of the braids ?

  • how to keep ur thread from not getting tangled in the hair cuz thats my problem

  • ive seen and tried other methods. but i must say i am so greatful for ur video. i did ur method on myself and im a 110% satasfied wit the outcome. keep up the great work and bring more videos.

  • i like it!!! im just learning other methods other than glue

  • It looks like what it is two different hairstyles. The colour, texture and style contrast is too obvious. But on the good hand it nice that you can do your own hair so you can learn and experiment as you wish.

  • you hair was so cute when you got finished with it

  • WOW you make this look sooooo easy---I gotta try it

  • Great job and well done. If I may offer constructive criticism - you looked prettier without the extra hair. Keep up the good work.

  • can u help me,,,i need advice on keeping my hair healthy as well as weaves!

  • omg. this was soooo helpful. ur braiding pattern was super easy. quick question, when attaching the hair to the braid do u sew through the weft or under it?

  • how long does it last and how did u wash it

  • You're so cute. Thank you for sharing! Best Wishes to you!

  • very easy and simple for a do it yourself job. loved it. . .will b tryn it soon =D

  • wow i really like ur method... i use to do weave, now im hooked on wigs, but i kinda wanna go back... and watching this makes me wanna do it... how many packs of hair did you use?

  • very helpful chica

  • thanks i will have me some hair tommorow.. nice and simple for my birthday

  • i got my hair weaved professionally, however one track almost slipped out. So I just re-sewed the track myself however I guess i didnt do the end knot tight enough so it loosened again. Is there a special knotting technique so that the track doesnt loosen.

  • how many packs do you use for a half sew in???

  • you have made this look so e z i have sat here for hours trying to figure out a way to braid n sew in my hair without it taking forever to do thnks a lot grl!!!

  • you made it so easy! get it girl

  • Hi , I checked out the link to the hair you bought and am wondering which length you got and how many packs? P.S have you washed the hair yet and was it still good quality?

  • This is totally what I was looking for! Thanx!

Can I wear this in a ponytail?

Do I wrap it in the night? How?

  • can you put this in a high ponytail?

  • can you put that in a high ponytail?

  • how many packs of hair did you use.

  • i used this same method (inspired by you) but when i left hair out on the sides you could kinda see like the part after i finished my weave... any suggestioins? thnx

  • Question. how do you comb your hair with braids hanging down in the back under your first track? I don't remember hearing you say anything about taking the loss after putting in your first track. Forgive me for the stupid questions but i really want to try this method and get it right.

  • @niss56

i said u could take them down if you wanted but i sometimes leave them. if you leave them, you dont comb through them.

  • @kenietha I was wondering that as well. I love the idea of taking them out this is such a smart way to do it yourself thank you!

  • I swear out of all sew in tutorials your helped me the most thanks.

  • Great video, it really helped me as I'm doing mine and my sisters for the first time. Great tips aswell so Thanks . Hope you do more videos. Would also like to know how u keep ur hair in such good condition as I'm tryna grow mine and it's around the same length as yours :-) xx

  • greeeeaatttt tutorial. u should win an award.. lol

  • Girl omg thanxs for uploading this now i can tell my hairdresser how i wnt my hair && explain it, you should open your own shop or somethin not that many ppl can do there own weaves you got it girl (:

  • @cookie091000

    wow! that's quite a compliment =) thanks

  • this was soo helpfull. i loved your method or sewing around the section of your natural hair and how it gave you some volume. im going to use this method. thankyou.

  • thx so much that really helped me because i never had weve because my hair is long but i wanted to try a protective style and i love weve idk why so im going to try it this summer thx and your video was soooo helpful

  • And yes you helped a great deal, I love the knot technique. Oh thats another queestion, so everytime you sew in a needle into the braid you always do that double circle around the needle and pull right?

  • Ok so when you went around it that first time after the first two rows and you went up and then back down on your sides and then filled it in...when you finished filling it in you just zigzaged it back up right? You didnt sew up the edges anymore than that first time right?

  • u got a nice texture of hair, what type of relaxer u use?

  • @xxwifeyxtypexxp

    i use profectiv

  • you make it look so easy!

  • help me alot thanx :)

  • i been lookin for a video lik dat! so well explained, helpful.keep doin yo thang guurl mi lik it ;)

  • ur video is very helpful. thanks very well explained unlike some videos.

  • i think your hair is just beautiful how you permed it, you don't need a weave.

my hair has got a baddd texture so then i can use a weave. But you look beautiful without

but thanks for uploading, liking it!

  • thanks but i dont believe in a bad texture. if your hair is different than you like it, just change it. i change my hair all the time so i dont get bored =)

  • your video was really helpful because im a begginer at this but what do you do with the braids underneath ?

  • oh the ebay link does not work anymore :(

Could you tell me the brand than i wiill browse myself :)

  • Thanks for the vid it explanes a lot!!

Is this harder than braid in extentions to braid and sew on your own head?

Also what is the advantage of a full weave?

With a full weave it seems to me that it is noticeable sooner.

With this weave i assume you could also make a tail if you like is that correct?

Thanks for the ebay link aswell

    Cheers lin

  • oh I see what you did there....you double rubber banded it and then released it after you finished. that makes a whole lot of sense. I like how you explained it. With my curly texture, I think this will work really well. thanks girl <3

  • no problem =)

    good luck

  • come back to blogtv preppy, your friends miss you

  • after u did that around pattern the first time did u keep going in a around pattern or did u continue doing straight lines?

  • in the video i went in lines

  • lOVE IT! iM TRYING THIS RIGHT NOW! iM WATCHING AND BRAIDING LOL

  • how do u keep the ends from the braids from showing?

  • How long does this style last?

  • normally about two months

  • I was going to do my first weave as a closure, but yours seem so much shorter and faster. I'll start with a partial. Thanks! your video is clearer than most I've seen.

  • glad to help

  • how does the thread on the back row stay in once you take the braids out in the back. doesnt the thread come out in the back row??

  • no thats why u knot it twice on each braid during the first track. the thread should stay just fine

  • I like this idea... I'm headed to the beauty supply tomorrow for some hair! :D Thanks

  • Me and my mom did thi yesterday. Thank you soooo much!! Me and my mom were strugglinq but youre the best!! Your technique works wonders.

  • very nice. I do it about the same its much easier than a spiral braid. I will try your technique next :)

  • glad you like it =)

  • great job!

  • thanks =)

  • wow thanks a whole lot ive been trying to learn how to weave and i fully understtand thanks to your tutorial. thanks

  • glad u liked it =) and ur baby is way too precious

  • what did you do with the braids that were still hanging... you just left them there... wudnt they show... especially if you tried a ponytail

  • you can do what ever you want with the braids. mine weren't a real problem for me but i did eventually take them out

  • pleaseeee respond asapp please, Im going to be doing my first sew in 2 days from now , was wondering if ur putting the needle through the weft or the actual braiding hair , cuz Ive seen diff methods , love yours n just wanted clarification... BTW when do u plan on doing ur next sew in tutorial , cant wait to see it :) .. thx for the vid

  • i actually stick the needle through my cornrows and around the hair weft. and i'm sorry that u wanted another video, i just did a sew in a couple of days ago but it was the same method so i didn't tape it. i'll be sure to tape if i try a different method.

  • Ok thank u so much :) .. Im bout to try my sew in now , wish me luck!!

  • good luck

  • ok..what about the braids that are hanging with the rubber bands around them! Aren't they gonna show? What about if u comb them?

  • omg that looks so pretty XD

  • I don't do very much sew-ins and very good job! I've never done my braids going down but love that idea and will certainly give it a try soon :)

  • luv ur videos. am a nigerian n watchin u has inspired me to acheive my dream to have d diva kind of hair.

  • wow! i did all that =)

    cool

  • love ur videos. they are very helpful n simple to understand. keep it up.

  • this didnt look good the color and texture didnt match and your real hair was way to flat ma

  • wow that was really good, i'm definitely going to try this!

  • if you do, please send me a picture cause i'm planning on showcasing them on my next weave video

  • i bought this Premium Now (sensationnel) for my sew in...i never had a sew in sooo is that a okay brand...will it last? some one help plz

  • i never tried premium now so i dont want to tell you wrong. but i do like sensationnel synthetic hair and even the worst human hair can be made to look good by sealing the weft, deep conditioning and adding serum before sewing it in so i'm sure it should be fine either way

  • Question? my hair is long and thick, what do i do with the hanging braids?

  • please watch the full video before questions are asked

  • Well i watched the whole video three times. but i guess the question is...do you just leave them hanging in the rubberbands? If so, how does that work out for putting your hair in a ponytail, with the braids in the back?

  • i left them but u dont have to. i took them out about two weeks later cuz i wanted to wear my hair up and didnt want them to show

  • LUV IT, LUV IT, LUV IT!

  • thank u for putting that i did it myself and it came out great

  • great!

  • tomorrow I am getting velvet remy yaki partially sewed in....how long will it last? I've NEVER had weave before...like idk....How do I wrap my hair? If I brush it wont that mess up the braids?

  • it depends on how they put it in but normally anywhere from two to eight weeks. hope it comes out nice =)

  • im sorry...what site did you get the hair from

  • ebay, from the broadway hair store on there

  • that was a very interesting video :p

  • Hey, when I wrote pets mart I wasn't making fun of you! I have 4 dogs and I shop at pets mart all the time!!!

  • oh i didn't think u were, i think i mite have removed that on accident, sorry

  • Comment removed

  • what did you do with the end o f the braids in the back?

  • with all that hair you left out in the back. can you put it in a ponytail?

  • did u spli da track

  • no, i just left it as is but i know some ppl like to

  • 2 questions....is dat yaky body and is dat human hair??

  • no indian remi

  • quick question when you did the hair going forward and you pulled it back was there any lumps or lines in the front from where you flipped the tracks back? i want to use your method nx month when i do another install on myself please answer gurl!!!

  • yeah it lifts a lil. i said that in the video but i like it for body. if you dont want it just twist the weave at the temples and itll lay flat

  • Love this video!!!

  • thanks!

  • did u just use one pack of hair?

  • yeah

  • this is a great tutorial! i am caucasian and currently use clip-in extensions. when i go platinum blonde (i'm a natural blonde, dyed to a 1B) i am getting my extensions sewn in. i may, however, end up doing them myself.

i do have one question for you. how many times do you sew through each braid? like, you go through the weft into the braid, tie the knot, then how many times would you sew into that braid before moving on to the next one? thank you!

  • I would also like to know what you did with the "tails" of your cornrows. did you tuck them up and sew into them while you did the other braids? did you leave them out and then take the cornrows out of that part so they became apart of the hair you left out at the nape? thanks!

  • in the video i just let that be up to the person doing the weave. i said that i normally unbraid the ends but to each his own

  • i just knot it once or twice and move on. but everybody has their own method. if you watch again, listen carefully and its all explained

    hope this help =)

ps i'm really glad that ur moving away from clip in extentions because they used to cut my hair but good luck on ur sew ins

  • Did you use two strips of hair at a time, I usually fold my hair in half to make it thicker then begin sewing, but I think this way looks better

  • nope, i've done that before, with synthetic extentions because they're so thin, but with human hair, i can normally get away with using only one weave if i dont fold it. but i do normally fold the hair into threes when doing tracks which i also have a video on here for. thanks for the compliment =)

  • Great Video! Very detailed & Easy 2 Follow. A thoughtful instructional...Thank You Kenietha!

  • thanks! that was very sweet of you to say

  • this is so cool, im a fifteen year old girl with afro carribean hair. I tried this myself and it worked ! The best thing of all is that people didnt even notice it wasn't ma real hair and it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. Thank you So Much. :¬D

  • wow! thanks =)

    great job!

  • looks so natural!!

  • thanks =)

  • how do u sew is their a special way or just go threw or over

  • it really doesn't matter but i personally prefer to wrap the thread around the needle before i pull it through; it causes a knot which secures the weft a lil better in my opinion

  • Is this only one pack of hair??

  • yeah, i meant to mention that in the video but i guess i forgot but yeah its one pack

  • Thanks fo rthe video. U did that very well. Im trying it tomoro!! Is that only one pack of hair?

  • let me know how it works out for you

  • Impressive how you did that all yourself. You go girl!

  • thanks =)

  • Love the style. Very cute. I'm going to try it.

  • cool! let me know how it goes

  • I like the video, it was neat. I also do sew in weaves. Just wanted to know what kind of hair was that, and the lenght. I love it

  • I think i wrote it all in the description box but i bought it off of ebay and it was 16 inches

  • thanx for the vid! I've been looking for a partial weave video but I kept getting the full weaves! Thanx!

  • no problem =)

  • love the hair

  • thanks =)

  • i love the hair i think that i will try it 2 cuz it looks so nice i loved it good job on the hair girl loved the style...........thnx .....For the video.........

  • thanks for watching =)

  • Awesome =)!!!!!!!!

  • thanks =)

  • Gurl, you do ur thing!!!!! Question ....when u wrap it around the top of the crown how do you avoid the curve or twist that occurs afterwards.

    I hope I make sense.

  • i actually dont. i use that twist to give my hair body but if you dont want the corners sitting up like that, just twist it half way at the top corners of ur head and it should lay flat

  • Hi!

I am about to sow in my weave for the first time, always used clips before, but the deal is I live in sweden so really dont know if I am able to get the kind of thread you are using, what are you suggesting i would use?

    How long does this take?

    Btw, you are amazing!

sorry for all the questions... :) haha

  • thank u for makin thss videoo

i luv tha hairstyle nd i wana

    try it....

    hopefully mine comes out riite

  • good luck sweetie =) let me know how it works out

  • iite thnxx....

  • this looks super hard. :(

  • its really not as long as you know how to do cornrows, the rest is pretty easy. but i'd suggest that you be really careful if its ur first time doing it and possibly alcohol ur needle because i'm a very accident prone person and my first time, i pricked myself ;p lol

  • dnt mind the name im using my brothers account..but this was soo helpful..good job

  • thanks! glad to help =)

  • Was that hair soft.Did it last long?Great job i wish i could do hair.

  • it was soft, it did shed, but i still was able to wear it for about 6 wks before i felt it started to look kinda thin. i had to leave it in for 8wks but i wore ponytails the last two. but i cant say i wouldn't buy it again because i might.

  • I just want to say how great it was to see the details when sewing in the weave on to the braids. You are a true pro!! I'm very impressed. Well done!

  • wow! thanks =)

  • *continued.

But I was just wondering if i was doing it right, cuz in your video, you did it with such ease--i was just so sure that im sticking the needle in the wrong place

  • 1) yeah thats the weft

    2) when i first started the weave, before i put it to my head, i poked the needle through the weft, and tied a knot but then i just looped the needle around the braid and the weft to sew them together.

  • Ok, so i made sure to watch the video more than once and read all your comments before i asked, but Im still confused.

    1) The weft is the actual top part of the track-like where are the hair is bunch n sewn together, is that correct?

    2) And if thats the weft...is that where you stick your needle into? ...cuz im trying it out on my doll (lol...i wanted to do that b4 i tried it on my own head) and its kinda rough (but not impossible) trynna get the needle through the weft.

  • u said on part one in the reply section that u dont fold your briads b/c u felt that u cut them the lsat time. Have u ever tried a net. Since i have been wearing them I havent cut by braids LOL! The net really does protect. And great job it turned out really pretty!

  • i have a couple of nets but i've yet to use any. i scratch a lot and like the freedom to wash my hair when need be and in order to get a net with small enough holes to prevent from cutting, i would have to give up on washing because small hole nets can hold moisture on the scalp and cause molding.

  • This was extremely helpful thanks!

  • great! glad to help =)

  • i bet u was late to work that day weren't you

  • lol probably ;p

  • did the hair shed alot? did it get kinked? i think i am going to order some. just wondered. I take your advice literally

  • i put it in a braid out and didnt wrap up my hair at nite and didn't sheen it so it started to dry out and shedded then, but i'm pretty sure if you took good care of it (lil sheen here and there) it should be fine but i just started buying stop fray from michaels so that none of my weaves will shed. i have a video on my channel about it.
