this must be VERY old because it was posted a year ago, but the option one for convert to, there is no microsoft so i think you should update the vid....

i should show mrs. cummings this. she used a flip for a project, and wanted to edit it with movie maker, but it makes them mp4's and movie maker doesn't take mp4's when it should. besides, flipshare does have good music to use, but flipshare takes hours to render a single video

Worked great.....THANK YOU!! HOWEVER.....after a loooong day of trying to figure this out....I am happy to say I did your little trick and was able to import and edit vids with Movie Maker, BUT for some reason Window's Movie Maker is not allowing me to save my converted videos to movies. Is this because they got converted from mp4?? Or can I only use one converted movie in WMM at a time?? Ugh, I sooo need help. I am about to pull my hair out!! Have any idea??

Yea the WMV file is what you want. It stands for WIndows Movie player file which is usually on your PC by default
