@arossona, as per specs, here in UAE were required to put polythene sheet above the roadbase or before laying mesh. Everything we do is base on British Standards.
@jayfedo There is a 6 mil sheet beneath the sand. Personally, I'd rather we didn't use the vapor barrier where we built- It was in the specs however and so we put it in. It is not something automatically required. I've participated a great number of builds that had no vapor barrier. The concrete cured to the required PSI and there were no problems at all. Are you required to use 1000 g Poly in all your foundational work?
I see the workers using shovels cleaning out the footings, working around the reo. An annoying job.
I've seen people use a garden blower/vac on the vacuum function sucking the dirt out of the pit. You just leave the collector bag off and direct the machine's output to where you want the dirt. A little bit dusty though but just have someone on a hose with a mist spray damping down the dust as it comes out. You can get garden spray heads that do that.
Very informative.
Thanks for posting.:)

Great, but where is the building process. How can you learn from this? This is a documentary of a build, not a building process.

Makes the job the little bit less fiddly.
