Because of the bad quality you do not hear it well enough, but the sound is constantly developing into something crazier by the second that passes. I do not see how a 5:15 minute long buildup with musically satisfying melodies in between the crazy parts is repetitive.

@VoodooPonyVideos He's made tunes in a few different genres before now. I came across an album called Project 56 which was a record of 56 different short tunes of alsorts of genres. I read somewhere that mau5 billed it as an album for people with short attention spans but I'm not sure if this is true or not. In any case, I'm in agreement that he has fallen into a bit of a slump creatively but there are also some gems in there that are instantly recognisable. Rough with the smooth as they say.

With Deadmau5, you know what you're going to get and the fact that he gets people to listen to similar songs time and time again, is what shows his creativity. He is a DJ, and the songs he makes are easy to mix to, thus easier for him to mix live. He plays to packed stadiums full of people who want to get smacked in the face with massive sounds and that's what he provides. He gives his audience what they want.

@Dutch91701 I mainly focused on your point that not a lot can be done with a 4/4 beat but you're pretty much right when it comes to club music [it's perfect for what it's for] yet there's still plenty of room for creativity in that area [the tracks fatboy slim spins live, for instance]. i just find it unfortunate that my only opportunity to enjoy this kind of music is hearing it live or at parties; i'm interested to see how his mastered techniques can be implemented into a more creative outlet.
