It's really a shame that Hatoyama resigned - he was the best prime minister Japan's had in recent memory and really began to transform his country into a modern, open democracy before he was betrayed by his people for such petty reasons
@gemzation710 I dont really understand this comment... Of course he's corrupt - it's pretty impossible to not be a little corrupt when you're in a position of such power - but why make this argument when Hatoyama is without question one of the LEAST corrupt prime ministers in Japan's history??
This notion that the DPJ in general is corrupt is just such a stupid argument. Yes they've had a couple scandals, But not NEARLY has many as the LDP who get 3/4 of their campain $ from the energy industry
hatoyama got a power and japan changed. his idea is japan and white countries must apology about colony policy. japan apology asia and us apology japan about a-bombs.

This is no leader. Soldiers are fighting to defend a country whose leader goes around the world making apologies and begging for capital. How did we come to this? To the armed forces: Semper Fi and defend your country my brothers. Just apply our slogan to the dream of what America was supposed to be, not to what it has become. Your sacrifice will restore the dream for your children. As for us, we will bring honor back to our country with our lives.

Mr. President, I am a conservative that has read your book, Audacity of Hope and now know what you are all about. You are an embarrassment for the USA and a threat to our cherished freedom.
assuming one can know what another person is "all about" merely by reading one book is preposterous. The only thing one can claim after reading only ONE book authored by Mr. Obama is that he has now exposed you to an alternative way of thinking.
Fair enough- so I don't know EVERYTHING about him but I do have a good idea about what his agenda is thanks to his book. I wonder how many people that cherish him have read his book, which is much better than going on media reports and teleprompter speeches.
@SantaBarbaraDianne. The last thing anyone needs when they're down in the dumps is another person saying "I told you so". Mr. Obama isn't the type of person to kick anyone when they're down. I've red both Audacity Of Hope and Dreams Of My Father and--in my humble opinion--they reflect a more optimistic view. He exhibits optimism and does it just enough to give everyone what we all need when times are bad -- HOPE. But he's also a realist, He even said in in inaugural speech that it won't be easy
He never answered the Hiroshima Nakasaki dropping the atom bomb question - I think he should have addressed it. Its the big white elephfant in the room. He should have condemmed it on humanitarian grounds.
@askjiir as if the u.s. was really interested in being humane when they still had a heavily racist, lynching culture and when they also wanted influence in Asia for numerous socioeconomic and political reasons. that's like saying we went into Iraq to liberate the people. but wait, you'd be stupid enough to believe that, even when genocide occurs in African countries and tyrants exist all over the world. good call dumbass
@killa524: That's a childish way to look at things and not in anyway a sound way to reason in the international arena. You seriously sound just like a little kid who has just been told off for fighting with another kid: "He was the one who started it".
Obama was clever about the Nagasaki/heroshima question. He shouldn't of answered that. He could of answered that it was wrong, making our country look weak, or say it was right, and possibly offend millions of japanesse. So he was smart enough to just dance around it. He could of said it was a bad, but needed, still would have negative effects. He could of said "FUCK YOU!" and the same outcome would of happened if he cleverlys answered it was a necessary evil. Props for passing.
Japanese millions of yours ancestors died in horible crime!! Hiroshima and Nagasaki USA agressor army still stand on holy Japan land! they rape your women and laughted on you. Your goverment bribed by US barbarians. They are like dolls/
You have no honor? Do you and your goverment still use dollars?
@UltiimaGuardian: Lucky that your not in any position of power or influence. Just imagine what the world would look like if all people thought like that! You speak of honour, but your comment reflects more arrogance and bigotry.
@westernshit666 We don't owe China $12 trillion, in fact, we don't even owe them $1 trillion. We owe them $800 billion, which is not much, most of the money the US government owes is to its own people, so no China doesn't owe US debt, Americans do.
Obama and world leaders will bring peace to all the nations. Nations under freedom, justice, and peace for all life. LIve life with joy and be glad for nations will be at peace....
you seem to have it backwards...the kind of killing that leaves no remains of any masses is actually worse than any other crime that does
...and simply NOT doing something terrible is most certainly not being good...in that vein, I'm being tremendously honorable and commendable for not serial killing a series of housewives...get a grip
Errr....You simply don't understand the pain of getting violated. It's more painful than 10 second death that any Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japanese had to endure.
Errr...I said nothing about pain. Being vaporized and having your entire existence wiped off the face of the earth is worse than a forced roll in the hay and dismemberment.
That's right, you said NOTHING about pain. You ignored emotional and physical pain. Let's be real, vaporized remains don't feel pain. How is vaporization WORSE?
You must be a Bush supporter who believes in torture.
You must be stupid idiot who likes to put labels on people...
I'm not talking about pain, forget that culdesac, let's be real about that dead end argument.
How is it worse? You're asking about the advancement of the power of mankind to bring the lives of masses of people, hundreds of THOUSANDS not only to an end, but destroying any evidence of their ever being. The sheer effortless power of doing that with the push of a button vs that of rape and beheading a relative handful...you're twisted.
"relative handful"? You don't know what Nanking Massacre is do you? 260,000 were murdered in cold blood. Nanking Massacre is not ordinary murder. It is crime against humanity. Those victims were killed in inhumane ways. Humanity is what humans are. The soldiers who committed the crime were defying their humanity. There is nothing worse in human civilization when humans are not humans.
It wasn't so effortless when Americans decided to drop the bombs. Americans warned Japanese many times about dropping the bomb. It was Japanese decision to not surrender. Like I said, Truman intentionally not select Tokyo and Kyoto as the target. It was because Truman was a human being. He was considerate and kind person. In comparison, some Japanese soldiers were not human being. I think it is unfair to even compare the atrocity of Nanking to a sound logical decision.
well i gues ur right. but then just think. ur countrey got sucker punched. 1000s of americans died. how would u feel. plus the called us pussies :( lol
Yup it was overkill, specially considering how the Soviet Union was about to turn on Japan. Japan's surrender to the US was there only option even before they were bombed.
It's funny thinking about how much Japanese culture effects my life. The car I drive was made in Japan, almost all of my favorite entertainment (from games to anime) were created in Japan. I really hope our countries never become enemies again.

1. Victim: Feeling pain is worse than being dead
2. Victim's family: Having no evidence is better than knowing your parents, sisters, brothers got raped and killed right in front of you.
