Never used lay-z-spa but uses a mspa. Have not been bothered by noise. It only makes some noise when it inflate itself. When it warms up it will only make equally much dB's as for example fans in a PC. When bubbles are activated the motor noise is very insignificant, bacause the bubbles are louder. I think the minimal amount of noise is because the motor is hided inside the spa wall and get isolated. I'm very satisfied and hope it will last longer than the majority of inflatable products:)
