Well I was born in 1977. I was a teenager when this music was out and yes, the 90's was a good time for music, but also very depressing! Alot of shitty stuff happened in the 90's. Be glad you all missed it!
wow this song and video brings back memories i love this song this was one of the first songs that opened my eyes to "alternative" and "indie" music before there was a such thing as "indie" lol wow i first saw this video on Much Music!!!! someone give me a thumbs up if you know what im talking about..........great song great band........ps @ aoffan23 i was born in 86 and yes the 90's were amazing for music!! good for you that you love them too!!!!
man i miss the 90's and the great 90's music like our lady peace, bush, silverchair, green day none of that new mainstreem shit dookie all the way! I miss all those great 90's bands and the way music was then. bush are coming out with a new album i'm pumped about that.
Unfotunately for me I was born in '94 and I ended up in the 2000's generation which sucks because I frickin hate it. Music isn't music anymore except for very few exceptions. Movies are 90% effects and end up being shit once again with very few exceptions and now i'm jealous of my cousin who was born in '90 for experiencing more of the 90's than me the bastard.
@Maclean2400 I f your looking for a good movie, watch One Day. It made me cry so much, and I didn't even cry when I broke my arm attempting to do a back flip off the monkey bars at the park ^_^.
@M0t0ko LOL! I remember taking a discman to school with me when I was younger, none of that rechargeable shit. just take a pile of AA battery's with ya to get ya through the day lol.
man i wish i can meet this guy and thank him dearly for most cherished music lol takes me back to a better time everytime i listen to matthew goods music
3:01 " kill for fun, it's fucking funny don't you think, one day you'll decompose, and those birds are singing, the birds are singing " 3:29.... the bass and the hi-hat in crescendo give me orgasnic goosebumps everytime :)
As a Cdn kid, this came out while I was in middle school. I had it on constant rotation in my Discman, as did most of my friends. When we would chill out, he usually was playin' in the background. Matt Good's music followed me on through highschool (remember Beautiful Midnight??) , and now that I'm in college, if I need a boost, or just want to zone out ....I can still count on Matt to take me back to the Good days. This is music. Rock on ppl!
This song, apparitions, a world called catastrophe and weapon were played sooo much on the radio in the 90's. Why did it change?! They should play them again damnit!
born in 81, got to see all the 90s had to offer, was a great time but memories are just that, memories, dont dwell on it or morn the past like i did, makes for a fucked up life
We are not humans, we are paper and numbers, we are a burden to all other parasitic people, we are hopeless, we are losing our humanity, we are without compassion, we are losing our community & society, we are being destroyed by greed & insecurities, we live in ignorance & denial, we are complicit, we are disconnected from one another, we sit in the comfort of distractions (TV, social status, politics, hate/fear/lies, celebrity, media) and we are enslaved to the system (money & oligarchs own us)
It's so hard to pick your favorite Matthew Good song, quite possibly the hardest thing ever. He has so many good ones, but I really do love this song.
@aoffan23 I would have to say you have missed out on a lot the 90's were far better then this decade has been, like wise the 80's 70's and 60's were better then this decade. I am only 28 in case you are wondering, on the brighter side of things I believe that Matthew Good still writes great music, but their is this little prick who brags that he has personally known Matthew Good for more then twenty years even though Matthew Good has only been around for fifteen years which to me I find funny.
damn right the 90's rocked, Matthew Good Band, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, Bush, Foo Fighters...damn I miss those days lol, 81 born from Montreal
i was born in 84' i was lucky to b gettin in music and catch the good 2nd half of the 90's . 90's fucking ROCKED ! matt good is amazing Vancouver B.C born and raised baby !
God damn the 90's were amazing. Well, from what I can remember. That's the problem with being born in '94, I missed almost half of it and was too young to remember most of the rest. Now I can only look back and immerse myself in the stuff I missed. Rock on Matt, still making awesome stuff.
@aoffan23 I was 15 in 1994. I had some good times during that decade. Dance music was huge and so was grunge style and the band Offspring,Nirvana,Greenday and soundgarden kicked ass. I drank, smoked weed and lived it up.....I still think of the 90's to this very day.
@aoffan23 take it from a 80's born kid. 80-90's were the best. I'm still quite puzzled as to how i am still alive in the 2000's. All the artists suck. If you even want to call them that. Justin Beiber anyone? ... /slicewrists.
@aoffan23 I was born in 88 and lemme tell you... You didn't miss much (except maybe nirvana and tupac and biggie and NWA and all that good stuff) but most of the early 90's were crap. 95% of the 90's was shit but luckily the other 5% was really really good. It was like the 70's but it didn't completely suck.
As you can probably tell from my wishy-washiness, I'm kind of on-the-fence about the 90's as a whole lol
@aoffan23 It had it's up's and downs...I was born in 1980, so 1990-1999 was me from 10 years old to 19...my teen years. You have to remember, for each Matt Good or Tea Party out there, there were 10 Spice Girls and 'NSync's floating around. The crap just faded into nothing, so all people remember now is the kickass rock music from the era.
@ZarathustrasCrown uuuggghh, i remember the spice girls and venga boys fans.... (cringes) i still have underdogs and beautiful midnight. wish it were easier to find matt good's other less known albums for purchase though. ive only seen the aforementioned albums on amazon and that's all. it's like the world forgot that matt good has 6 other albums out there....
@aoffan23 you have no idea how rejuvenating it is to hear someone as young as you say something like that about the music i grew up with. Shine on you crazy diamond, shine on ;)
@FromtheLandofGorch funny how time goes eh. I'm 21, going on 22. This shit nostalgic: I'm probably 9, 10. I didn't get into his music until Beautiful Midnight.
i wish i wasn't 20......i would have loved to grown up listening to him.....great messages and between 3:36-3:39 that voice sends chills down my spine.
This song is about materialism and capitalism and how we focus on things outside of us "everything is skin deep" , and how that will not make us happy.
This was back when good music was considered timeless. Nowadays good music is based on how much overpriced merchandise your image can sell to 13 year old girls.
Damnnn, haven't heard this tune in awhile. still love it! I miss Muchmusic and the good days for awhile, when the music was relevant. not desperate like it feels now days.
yeah they really are desperate playing all this shit music for a 5 yr old constantly can't they get kids into good music like they got me into good music? seriously much music needs to die if they're gonna be this crappy. major selling out.
So very true, I know right? what happened to the days when Matthew Good, Econoline Crush, Moist, Our Lady Peace were setting standards, now days it feels like a bad emo commercial, trying to sell waterproof mascara.
yeah I know. all the artists they play now are shit and most of the rock artist who they hardly play are posers lmao. so sad for this to happen to Much Music. way too many shitty disney stars lmao.
no kidding it pisses me off when someone disses me with a comment and then i dont know what there refering to because i cant find my original comment!!
What I've always loved about Matt Good, is not only is his music fun to listen to, but it also has lyrical depth. Since Matt Good Band became just Matt Good its just gotten better!
this type of music doesnt reach much music and mtv as often as i would like. sell outs and artists backing this "sex sells" bull shit are flooding the market and running this out because its not accepted anymore
that's crazy talk!!! you apparently missed what you were supposed to catch... it's ok though, matt doesn't write for you, he writes for people that don't say stupid things!
to have this kind of insight on a society that places looks over ability and intelligence. this is the best album ive ever heard and one of my favourite songs.
I can't really say why but this music is really good. I own all of their albums and they're all excellent.

What I've always loved about Matt Good, is not only is his music fun to listen to, but it also has lyrical depth. Since Matt Good Band became just Matt Good its just gotten better!

I agree, as I've gotten older I've found that I've been able to read more and more into his lyrics

Sorta has the same intro as that 54-40 song One day in your life. Not to mention they're also from Vancouver.

I miss this band they're at least as talented musically as Matt Good, I just like this old stuff better.

this type of music doesnt reach much music and mtv as often as i would like. sell outs and artists backing this "sex sells" bull shit are flooding the market and running this out because its not accepted anymore

that's crazy talk!!! you apparently missed what you were supposed to catch... it's ok though, matt doesn't write for you, he writes for people that don't say stupid things!
