I think critical like Idra as well, but the big thing that you guys dont understand is that it was GG either way. Boom, he has another 2 thor, 4, barracks, etc.

It was just a game of attrition against Idra. He could have clutched baneling'd. but he was to far behind on army.

However when puma would come to attack the second base, 12 roaches would've came out as the 2 in the 3rd base would have been killed. When Puma comes to attack the natural, idra would have the uphill advantage and take out some of the hellions. whilst spawning some more zerglings to deal with the thors. Although he was behind, he should have atleast fought.

idra is a great player. he does sometimes leave unwarranted, but i just can't stick with the idea that this was one of those times .. because it is his teammate and because he does need to constantly condition himself to be a better player, its very possible that he will throw a game if the stakes are low and/or he knows that he was not perfect and doesn't want to take on any bad habits. thoughts to keep in mind.

The mutas would have no chance after the roaches were dead and on the off chance he would've held Puma would've just pushed again and rolled him because he was macroing all the while he was pushing. It's ironic though that you get hellions for huge splash damage on lings, and then the indestructible Thors for killling ground AND splash air again. Thanks God on HOTS Warhounds will counter mech on the ground - because current situation is a joke...

It's no surprise Idra left. Puma's Hellys countered the zerglings very nicely, and the thors are decent against the mutas and provide that extra support. Yes, Idra had 14 roaches hatching soon, but he had already lost his 3rd once and the 3rd was about to fall a second time before the roaches would be able to defend.

@AATMedia: Most of the time it's drones built in anticipation of another expansion - IdrA was planning to take third expo (denied in the final push), hence 78 drones, sometimes it's just so income doesn't fall if their mineral line gets harrassed a bit, and sometimes they do overbuild them.

@48tank If I can't rush some Broodlords I try to set up some Baneling landmines. Mutalisks are usually good if you can catch the Thor's away from the tanks and Hellions. Infestors can help lock down their hellions and tanks but as usual you want to do that with the Thors out of range. try to surround their Thors with zerglings when they're out of position. Banelings can help bring down Thors quickly but it's kindof a waste of resources. Get Terran out of position and you win 20% more often.
