heavy in 70's yes, what about the 60's SLB where just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to late 60's heavy rock/metal roots, this band also lead to the first incarnation of modern metal as we know it in a band called Bedemon, O'Keef and Leibling will still reign in my mind as the godfathers of Modern Metal. Long live Pentagram.
Rock Kicks, Diamond Rio, Legs Diamond, Axis, Journey(yeah, they used to be heavy), Angel, Grand Max, Creed(70's version), Moxy, Montrose, didn't April Wine start out in the 70's? Lots of heavy stuff in the 70's.

Since I have you talking and not cursing at me Let me explain. In 1970 there was not alot of heavy groups.I was 12 in '70. Grand Funk- Mountain- Bloodrock-Alice Cooper - Dust- UriahHeep Stooges Mc5 As time went on bands got heavyier . I Just played both S.L.B. albums and the 1'st is a more consistant l/p/ but it did'nt contain Chicgago Lives or Ceazer 71' These songs are as good as master Heartache or Kingdom come. It seems that you don't like anything that is not bombastic.
Thanks for sharing these cool photos. My friend Steven; his cousin Richy (also my friend) was in a band those days here in Brooklyn knew and played with these guys. :o)
I grew up in Brooklyn and briefly played in a band with Louis DAmbra. Later he went on to form Lord Baltimore and they acheived some moderate success. Last I heard Louie was a Christian minister and I myself have evolved into a devout Catholic.
Read about these dudes in "Collectors Guide to Heavy Metal",never have heard them or seen anything by them-Im a collector of 70s hard rock, cant find any of their shit. Thanks for the post.
seriously ? Christian Rock is seriously antithetical. DAMN IT...thats what happens when you go to jail and/or rehab for too long. Apparently Jesus chills in both of those places as thats where most people find him.
The second album was thier masterpiece! "ceazer71"!! Oh my god ! Chicago lives!! as heavy as early Sabbath. I think you need to listen to it again; Increadle heavy sound!!!!!
This is a below average song period. Ceazer 71 blows it away! period. I 'm not gonna get into a pissing contest with you. So this is my last reply. You can lead a horse to water but can;t make em drink. Go ask any stoner metal fan or any body that knows metal. The first album is good but side 2 on the classic second is way better than the first album. I'm 53 and lived that whole scene. I know that ac dc is your fave. I've got Firewind and Primal Fear Bitch!
@urheadonastick I think Mountain took their lead from The Cream and Jimi Hendrix.

@jjwesley2525 no dude, Jimi died. September 1970.....The king of Heavy Rock music.
But hey Jimi Hendrix's spirit lives on through anyone who picks up a guitar and shreds their asses off.

Music will never get this good again. Too much computers & stuff nowadays. Too less actual musicianship.
